They're not really givin' 'er here, seem tired but it has it's moments. Audio could be better. What they're capable of this isn't one of their signature tunes.
Probably what you need is a Digital Audio Recorder, Zoom (That's Roland) makes one
& Samson Audio makes one/ or more.If you're into it. It's hard to get decent audio at a
live venue Unless you're jacked into their mixing board. That's why those BBC4 Videos are outstanding. I mean when it concerns audio the BBC don't jack around
and for that matter neither does PBS the CBC or Austin City Limits. The Video in your posting was just fine though.
I love both versions and both artists. Seems unnecessary to compare the two. Because the structure of the song itself is so sound, it can stand up to multiple interpretations that work. Solid armiture as it were.
I prefer Cash's. It's the only version I can really feel the artist make his own. Arnold's and Watson's all feel old school delivery without that. Nothing wrong with them since that's just how the used to do it.
Hard to match Doc Watson on this song, but this is ridonkulous harmonies...welch and rawlins got mad juju!

The smile on Dave's face explains it all. If you don't get the joke... just like, nevermind.

Yeah I agree with the audio. It was a little messed up at the show and I'm still getting familiar with the setting on my camera at various venues.
