I see everyone these days shooting ammonal. You've done bunch of inconvenient/impractical ammonal sugars/charcoal mixtures, and yet never bothered to do ANFO or ANSOY..... Your rifle shoots won't be missed by real pyros.

If you set off ANFO/ANSOY in any respectable amount, 5-10lbs, it would still be worthy of filming. And its cheap as hell. I've seen 2lb ANFO dets and they are plenty entertaining. I've done ANSOY underwater and it is have great heaving power. If you couldn't initiate it, that's a different story.

For one most pyros don't carry a rifle with them as a detonation device. For two it takes work and care to make a reliable and safe initiation mechanism. Would you consider rednecks shooting tannerite pyros? Nope.

Lastly it is about controlling the detonation- it can be anywhere-underground/underwate­r or in the air as in salute. And most pyros don't live in the woods where they can set off huge amounts anyways. It is very much undercover and discrete.

@dawson01915 I 100% initiated it using 80g ANNMAl booster, it is weak in comparison to most other mixtures.

I perfected my version of a blasting cap a long time ago, (you remember, cause you were asking me how I made mine) it worked every time, but was time consuming to make; so I tried exploding targets, and found almost all of them undergo low order dets.

My passion was making better and better mixtures, working toward the best dry ammonal mix, and best ANNMAl mix I could get.

Fair enough. I find it more time consuming to mix these dry binaries than to make a blasting cap. To each his own. I am so lazy that all I will ever use is bullseye for boosters and ansoy for MC.

There are old pyros and there are bold pyros, but there are also lazy pyros. XD

@dawson01915 .....while staying with a constant power in initiation; a .223, which is equivalent to far less than one of my BCs. I'm satisfied with what I now know about HE, and you should be about what you know too, and stop worrying about what I'm doing.

Stop being so jaded, I worked on perfecting mixtures while you worked on perfecting BCs; we took different routes, but we're still pyros

@fmusso1 As he says in the video, it was 35 Lbs of thermobaric ANNMAL with gas and flares to ignite it, no chlorate.

He often uses high velocity bullets to ignite his explosives, which caused the boom before the detonation (he missed a shot).
