  • OMG the solo.... OMG THE SOLO ... EARGASM

  • Αγάπη και Θάνατος...

  • Justin Bieber sucks

  • @17Jefim

    ya don't say

  • Stevie wonder can take better pic than that...

  • Goddamn people broke into my brothers car and stole his radio and out of all the cd's in there they took midian >:o

  • @Illucifer1 I bet that sucked,

  • Don't despise me too much; I only really got into COF after N-phetamine. I had heard their Iron Maiden "Hallowed be thy name" cover before and NO ONE TOUCHES MAIDEN, but then I heard them doin their thing and dug it. Now I call Paul a friend and chat with him frequently(not bragging, just illustrating that a late comer is still welcome. You guys need to look up Vomitorium Art.com(Paul's site of his art). Paul's really a cool dude. He gave me encouragement about my band and some good advice. COF

  • This is in my favourite album, swiftly followed by Bitter suites... Purely for the solo and Dani being a sexy little basterd! (In a non-gay way).. I cannot help but despise people who only listen to these AFTER their Nymphetamine album.. Cool album, but its nothing compared to cruelty ey?! Fucking awesome shows too!

  • Fucking awesome. And the lyrics, man...

  • If I had a dollar for every pixel this video had I would have one dollar XD

  • interesting that title for those who speaks Portuguese

  • Love and death = Amor e Morte -> Portuguese.

  • @Nightwishsoldierbr The words are, actually, directly translated from Latin. And yes, Portuguese is a Latin-based language, so you're partially correct.

  • @MistaHahn117 Hahaha ... Why partially correct? Even though Portuguese (my mother tongue) comes from Latin, it is still Portuguese. In Latin it would be "Amor et Mortis". ;)

  • @Nightwishsoldierbr Sorry, I messed up when posting that comment :P

  • @Nightwishsoldierbr i think it's italian

  • @franhound Hey mate! ;) Its Portuguese. In Italian it is "Amore e Morte". ;P

  • @Nightwishsoldierbr aww i understand now

  • @TheScathed In fact Amor E Morte means Love AND Death, so Death of Love isn't the literal translation.

  • How is this song related to Death of Love? Yes, I know that's the literal translation. Are they supposed to be linked or something, though?

  • The first time I heard the words "Her bouquets are wilted, too long has she slept" I fell in love with this song. This is possibly one of their most poetic songs - although I still think Thank God For The Suffering takes first place.

  • any idea what the cover album artwork reffers to?

as far as i know the man and the woman are a succubus and an incubus, standing in front of some gates..which are the gates of midian

  • @00393293171971 The albums cover art is reffering to Midian, a clive parker novel, addapted for film. It in it self is only a figment of sir c. parkers immagination. This intire album is though heavy with lovecraftian inspiration, building a lot on the lovecraft Mythos. (and yes the woman could surely seem to be a succubus, though being a huge c.barker fan and a student of lovecrafts writing, i think it should be interpreted as something much more sinnister...)

  • very god

  • Politics suck you morons. Its about their music, not about oppressive nations.

  • Hail Portugal!!!!!

    It means Love and Death

  • this was a good album.

  • @xhollowghostx yes, it WAS a good album...

  • Crappiest pic ever.

  • @mrhanover picture isnt important. the sound quality is. and the quality of this song is flawless in my eyes.

  • @mastereddeath I am an artist, manga drawer, poster designer, web designer, producer, musician, and body builder. You telling me the picture isnt important is HIGHLY offensive. I know this picture is CRAP. But i'm sure you can find the same one in a good format such as jpg or png made through a sophisticated program :)

  • @mrhanover maybe so, but what is the point in wasting time trying to find a decent picture when half of the people that listen to the music are doing other things and therefore not focusing on the picture? it seems pointless to worry about something that hardly anybody will actually worry about.

  • @mastereddeath Im not too thrilled about the picture. Nor would I give a shit. But im just saying the picture is crap, the same one in hd is floatin around google images, the song is awesome. The guy that assembled this video did a horrible job at it. Thats all i got to say.

  • @mrhanover yeah that's fine. i mean, everybody's entitled to an opinion. but let's be honest here. if you didnt like the video, but liked the sound quality, you could've said you didnt like the picture and then countered the negative comment with a positive one. there's way too many problems in the world because people are way too blunt.

  • @mrhanover This was uploaded in April 2007. Back then it was considered good. Now we have HD etc etc.

  • Amor e Morte = Love and Death

    It's portuguese ^^

    Hail Brazil

  • @Guadamn lollll my mum listens to this XD although she prefers heavier shit like Oceano or All Shall Perish or IDeclareWar :D

  • People...I am Portuguese....Information:

Amor e Morte means Love and Death...

In most Latin-rooted languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, Romanian, Italian, etc...), the verb conjugation is complex, we have 5 verb modes, each one divided into more 10 or so subgenres...We have three tipe of subjects: omitted, inexistent, and apparent...so...

Oh, bytheway, the prionunciation of Amor e Morte is A-mor i Mort

  • CRADLE OF FILTH = THE GODS OF METAL

  • ======D metal(:

  • personally im not a CoF fan but i have to say midian is one hell of an epic album =P

  • @greenchavez13 Fuck Yeah!

  • Epic Shit

  • just downloaded the new album wow killer cant wait to get it on vinyl and to see them live in feb.

  • Well...Midian is the best selling, and famous album in Black Metal history.

  • It's "love OF death" -- latin

  • @piltogg oh wow big man you know not even a significant amount of latin gtfo and learn some real shit. ego vos benedictio in nomine magni dei nostri satanas ave satanas ave domini inferi

  • @Capri557 - Actually, if you knew a little bit of Latin grammar, you'd know that in classical Latin "ego" is almost always omitted.

  • @Fan666Maiden actually no stupid ego isnt omitted im in latin 4 gtfo you scrub and watch dark funeral vobiscum satans it's not omitted ego= i you dont omitt i gf noob

  • @Capri557 - Actually yes it is. If you're really in latin 4 just ask your teacher.

  • @Fan666Maiden actually no its not becaise i you were to say i have to go to the bathroom you have to use ego for i you would say have to go to the bathroom idiot and i did ask her. she said its used it to talk proper

  • @Capri557 - The "I" is already included in the ending of the verb -,-

  • @Fan666Maiden no its not like dormit=sleeps but its the verb

  • @Capri557 I am sorry to interfere but you are both right and wrong. In Latin - and most of Latin-rooted languages - the person is omitted in the majority of the times. This has to do with the simple fact that verbs and conjugations are never equal - with a few exceptions -, so there is no need to leave it there.

  • @RiffRaffBlacksmith This may also be because of the phonetics and because in all Latin languages, the phonetics and speaking influence the writing a lot. It is one of the biggest concerns that speaking is easy and the less stressed possible, hence ortography being in constant change. Anyways, this is a discussable toppic due to the extinction of Latin as a spoken language...

  • @piltogg love and death

  • This is the most fascinating metal song I've ever heard. :)

  • CRADLE OF FILTH rulessss alll if i see dani on street i kill him juste to have it whit me !

  • Essa música é linda! Os vocais são incríveis ea guitarra solo é apenas um sopro da mente. Cradle of Filth é uma das minhas bandas favoritas Black Metal.

  • "amor e morte" is latin! And means "love comes from death"

  • @RagnarockWolf wow, I used to think it is portuguese and means love and death.

  • @BleedBeliever it really means Love and Death in portuguese.

  • THIS SONG IS EPIC!!!!!!!!!

  • BesT GuitaR SolO EveR

  • this is one of their best :)

  • Well... It's portuguese indeed, but the thing is the "e". lol "Amor é morte" means "love is death" or "Amor e morte", saying "love and death". Who knows?

  • @jorpin1980 They write "e" and pronounce "e", so I'm pretty sure the meaning they want is "Love and Death".

  • you're right. 'é' means 'is'. 'e' means 'and'. 'amor e morte' means 'love and death'. i'm portuguese ;)

  • amor e morte, qual é a dúvida?onde há dúvida... isto é cantado em latim...........

  • amor e morte, qual é a dúvida ..........isto é cantado em latim, originaria da lingua portuguesa e de outras..............

  • mais uma coisa "love is death" quer dizer amor é morte e a musica é amor e morte, nao é morte...deu pa perceber a diferença entre é e e.....

  • mal, nao é amor é morte, é amor e morte...o português é complicado, entendo...

  • It's not italian!

  • Let me coorrect all o of you, 'cause I'm portuguese. If the title is "Amor é morte", it means "Love is Death", but, otherwise, if it is written "Amor e Morte", it's "Love and Death". So, the problem is in the "e".... lol with or without the spirit above it..

  • It's Portuguese and means Love and Death.

  • It's not italian. It's portuguese, but it had two meanings: "Amor é Morte", like "Love is Death" or "Amor e Morte", meaning " Love and Death".

  • @FantasmaDaNoite It's not italian. It's portuguese, but it had two meanings: "Amor é Morte", like "Love is Death" or "Amor e Morte", meaning " Love and Death".

  • what's sure is that it is latin..wikipedia says it means love comes from death..I thought it meant love and death..I'm not too sure though..

  • how bout this, it IS latin, it DOES mean love and death...it just sounds like italian and portuguese because they are based off of latin and have many of the same words with the same meanings

  • portoghese o no il titolo è in italiano ;)

  • it's Portuguese. It means Love and Death. Sorta sounds like Latin doesn't it though eh?:P

So yeah, end your ridiculous arguments and just fuckin enjoy the epic filthness! \m/

  • @SexLoveandPeace

It's italian.. I'm italian. And, yeh, it means Love and Death

  • @MetalForce147 i could care less if your Italian. it's not Italian. i checked like, 10 different sites all saying it's Portuguese.

  • That's ok but I am italian, and Amor e Morte means the same in italian. Really..!

  • those are pretty similar in both lenguages, because both lenguages come from latin, like in spanish amor e morte is said amor y muerte, comes from latin too :/

  • AWESOME SONG

  • or it might be love for death idk...i cant remember it XD

  • if im not mistaken i think the names latin for love from death....im pretty suire ^^ lol

  • @world2explode2moro lol, 'twas a long time ago I posted this. I almost forgot about it. While my comment may have been a bit on the immature side, I stand by the fact that if you don't like Cradle, you have no reason to be here...

  • it means love death

  • it's latin and it mean love FROM death!!

i'am italian too and i study latin...

And i don't think that they could insert in the song portuguese choral ^^

    latin is more cool

  • yeah i'm italian too, that's what i was about to explain!

  • @nasfurion . dude

you solved me a doubt that i had of the meaning of AMOR E MORTE

  • i'm italian

  • wow all songs off midian is just so amazing \m/ keep it metal

  • Comment removed

  • wow ur an idiot

  • latin is the general language that breaks off into different branches, ex. portugese, italian, spanish, ect...

  • yes I know, I study philology which is the main subject about lenguages and their roots

  • well i wasn't talking to you specifically, just all the people arguing about the language the title is in

  • oh ok ;)

    peace!

  • IT's FUCKING PORTUGUESE! grow some brains

  • dont be rude, maybe you're mistaken babe

  • I guess it's italian Love and Death...

  • No, seriously, its Portuguese.

Love in Italian is Amore - Notice the letter 'e' in the end of the word. Only in Portuguese we say Amor e Morte.

  • oh ok...

Because in old italian it's also Amor e Morte, I guessed it was old italian, it wouldnt be the first time they use italian in their songs they use words like "luna" which is "moon" and other stuff I dont remember lol

  • Oohh now that you mention it, i remember...

You could be right... but still i stand by what i said earlier.

On a side note, Dani daughter's named Luna

  • Anyway it's not a big problem lol it was just to know... I guess we have to ask Dani which lenguage he used!

wow nice name, I didn't know it!

  • Hahaha... boa! O famoso vinho do Porto! Nunca provei, mas pelo que dizem deve ser excelente! Amor e Vinho, haha..

    valeu!

  • Best song and best solo ever....fucking awesome, I can't stop listen to it

  • This is my favorite album. It's dark yet melodic, horrifying yet sexy. This album relaxes me and puts into a trance.

  • WAT

  • indeed its a masterpiece ....im glad that this song is on midian...because all midian songs are just fuckin amazing

  • Comment removed

  • 5/5

  • im sure cradle of filth meant 'love out of death' =)

  • Amor E Morte in Portugese means Love and Death while in Latin it means Love out of Death, so both sides of the argument are right. You'd probably have to ask COF to find out which it is.

  • Dude, the name of the song is Amor E Morte, not Amor & Morte. And it is latin. Look at the wikipedia article about Midian.

"The title of the song "Amor E Morte" is Latin for "Love from Death," or "Love out of Death.""

Do you see now? If you don't believe me, search it at wikipedia.

    BTW: I now latin.

  • then why did you have to go onto wikipedia:)

  • if you know latin, you know "morte" isn't latin, "mortem" would be correct. and for "amor", I don't know the latin word, but I doubt it is "amor".

Love And Death, though it is indeed strange that a band picked a portuguese name, I KNOW you'll say it is on wikipedia translated through latin

  • I know latin, words decline: there are 6 diferent endings for a word in singular, and 6 other in plural. Amor is Nominative. Morte is Ablative. I can tell you don0t know latin cuz mortem is just one of the words for death, is Acusative. If you don't believe me, look for a latin dictionary and you'll see I'm right.

Another thing: Is it more likely that CoF write a song with its title in latin, or in portuguese?

    Think about it...

  • I already thought about that in case you didn't read it, I said it is very strange that a foreign band would pick PORTUGUESE out of all languages to name a music

foda-se eu tou tao farta disto tudo e desta gente irritante
