Perhaps I do understand - we must be alert to asymmetric attacks and we must adapt to both repel them and to eliminate the threats. However, this does not justify the invasion of Iraq. If it did then why are we not invading North Korea and Iran?
Obama has not radically departed from the war strategy of Bush. That is understandable as the options available have not changed. And both men had to rely on military advice - which has changed little.
