you can also do this trick with a cigarette. its an awsome way to freak out your friends at a party or something. all you do is secretly lick the back of your thumb and press the paper part of the cigarette to the back of your thumb and hold it there for 30 seconds. then say "hey dude, check this shit out" and your friends will be trippin for hours.

OOOO. i know how to do this. you get a bit of glue(gluestick) and you stick the toothpick to your thumb. saliva kinda works to. it just cant be sticky enough to the point where it wont come off. when he opens his hand, angling allows u not to see the toothpick.
