try to turn off your anti-virus before open windows movie maker,maybe the anti-virus is stoping it, or get in site of microsoft and get the update of movie maker.

@XSplinterrX that happened to me too, so i just created a small video with the ingame camera set at a preferred place and then went to import video instead of pictures. it works!!
