OMG!!!! Now this takes me back!! i remember begging my parents to let me stay up on Friday nights to watch Jerry Lewis movies on CBS!!! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!!!
It is too bad CBS doesn't have Late Night movies anymore. But alas, the DVD and VHS has replaced it. I do miss the music though and the neon star. Great composition-too bad so short...
CBS had a winner with that intro. I can't help but be perplexed over the blatant typo. I would have been been jumped on for any poor title or key spelling.
KLXT77, thanks a million for the great memories of staying up late during the summer to watch the Late Movie. Life was good and thanks for reminding me.
I keep waiting for this movie to come out on DVD!!!

Man! Does this bring back great memories! Great 70's movies! Too bad this theme wasn't made into a longer version. Love it and miss it so much!

Lee Remick registered horror so well, didn't she?

The misspelling of "Medusa" at the end is the crowning touch.

Hmmmm! I love the announcer's voice! Find it very comforting. To each his own, I guess. Great memories.

The narrator sounds so annoying and obnoxious!

I was hoping to find the CBS Late Night Movie bumpers and opening for Exorcist II: The Heretic from the early 80s, when they aired it once or twice.

They were trying to recreate "The Omen" their chemistry, but it didn't quite work.
Love the intro though!

This takes me back to the late 70's living at my grandmothers house and watching Planet of the apes on The CBS Late movie!

Notice at :39, the jetliner into the highrise!

That's creepy

why?

@sldl04 It's creepy because it's precient. At :39, a jet slams into a highrise. Nineteen years later, it would happen for real in New York

@flipwiggins That was long before September 11, 2001 terrorists attacks in New York and Washington D.C.

Now, wasn't that Gordon Jackson of "Upstairs Downstairs" fame?

Looks like an "Omen" rip-off. Same actors too!

Richard Burton wasn't in the Omen.

I almost forgot about that one. What a terrible, terrible movie.

@tvengr4047 The typo makes the whole thing that much more endearing.

"Medussa"? How do you make that mistake? :) Loved the kaleidoscope graphics at the beginning; so 1980s.
MizNelson 3 years ago
Actually, the opening really isn't all that 80's. It made its debut way back in 1972.
RJSchex 3 years ago
This sounds like the final arrangement of the theme...it had to have been recorded in the early 80s.
