  • O filme é ótimo e a trilha sonora também. Obrigado.

  • It gets worse. The shore patrol guy he stole his suit from gets payback. Robert Mitchum kinda goon.

  • Spielberg is the master of nothing, except kitsch.

  • someone please tell me this song!

  • @berboma

swing swing swing comp by John Towner Williams

    may be

  • I LOLED AT 3:14

  • Remove the overlaid chat !

  • 2:32 "Streeetch! (Stretch.)" LOL

  • take off the stupid translation, you dirty spink

  • Way to go with the lame dubb over, Comrade :(

  • The translation spoils this masterpiece.

  • And to think, a party in the 20th century wasn't composed of 90% STD infested people.

How awesome must THAT have been?

  • "1941" is a mess. The humor is too forced. If Spielberg wanted to do Olsen & Johnson, he sure got it, though why would anybody want to do Olsen & Johnson? Doesn't matter, because this dance number/chase scene is the most exciting musical number in the world. It just gets bigger and more surreal every second. I'd even sit through that awful "Color Purple" again just to see this scene.

  • what is the movie title?

  • @MrZvrntsv The movie's title is 1941 and it's Steven Spielberg's single most underrated film and one of my all time favorites.

  • Wendie Jo Sperber was a true trouper. The effort she puts into this sequence is priceless. RIP, Wendie Jo.

  • @Azishome that actress died? i remember her from lots of 80s comedy films and liked her! when and what got her?

  • @dionstap Yes, unfortunately. Wendie Jo passed from breast cancer November 29, 2005. By all accounts, she put up a brave and aggressive fight against the disease. Her last work was as a voice on American Dad. The producers re-named her character Wendi Jo in her honor. The episode aired after she passed.

  • If Treat Williams would get the hell out of the way, this scene would take off into the stratosphere.

  • Man, I forgot what a cutie Dianne Kay was! Whatever happened to her?

  • Why is it dubbed in Russian?

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @therickheagerty It's called "Swing, Swing, Swing"

  • @eblackadder3 You cannot find this song under that name. "Sing Sing Sing" is a more famous song, but it is a DIFFERENT song. This one is not that. I'm sorry, but you'll need to link to a THIS song to be sure. I cannot find THIS song under THAT name.

  • @eblackadder3 I retract my earlier statement....

  • Swing,Swing,Swing

  • Yellow panties and garterbelt...woooo...sexy!!!!

  • ... immer noch der geistle, wildeste Spielberg-Film aller Zeiten !!! Thanks ...

  • Treat Williams - one of the most underrated actors of all time, the scene where Maxine is kissing him is priceless.

  • This is a much-maligned film - understandably. But this scene is terrific. Spielberg is a master of action scenes, and isn't a song and dance number a type of "action scene"?

This combination of dance/fight choreography, along with the gorgeous, dynamic camera movement, is about the best ever put on screen.

  • @seejaytftf I could've said the same exact thing but you beat me to it. This is actually one of my most favorite scenes in cinema....overlooked obviously because of how wildly inconsistent the movie is as a whole. You start to see visual flourishes Spielberg later reuses in subsequent films of his. You also begin to see the madcap fantasy qualities John Williams adds to his films. It was the movie that basically HAD to be made so we could get Raiders. Long live the movies!

  • @seejaytftf

This was a great movie, WAY ahead of it's time. Actually originally it was going to be cast as a musical, then they scrapped that and made it what we know it as today.

Tons of high power actors in the movie, each lending their own little spice to their own roles. Almost makes you think this is what would happen if a bunch of actors got together and decided to make a movie for the heck of it for fun.

  • @kleetus92 I totally agree. This movie is so much wacky fun that i really can't understand why so many people disliked it. It's really too bad it wasn't a critical success because i would have loved for Spielberg to have made 1942.

  • @seejaytftf

Understandably? The only reason it is maligned is because it didn't make as much money as Speilburgs other films. It is still an absolutely hilarious film.

  • ОЧЕНЬ КРУТО !

  • There is no more exciting dance form than swing. Grace, athletic ability and fluid motion. The music is great too. I'm so sorry I wasn't born in that era.

  • Wendy Jo Sperber

  • she's dead

  • debra jo sperber?

  • swing dancing sure looks like fun, I would love to learn how !!

  • terrible foreign dubbing. brilliant film. saw it about 89-90 on UK telly and a few times since. finally bought it on region 1 last year as not available region 2 in the UK.

  • Treat Williams as the Army thug, Sitarski.

  • what for a fuck translator!

  • love treat williams!!!!he's hot

  • Just shows you what kind of result you get when you hire non trained swing dancers... It could have been so much better...

  • Who's talking Russian in the background?

  • translator of the movie

  • Bizzarre, I thought that was Spanish at first for some weird-reason, I sometimes confuse languages together sometimes, I don't know why but I do.

  • the blonde is dianne kay she is hot!

  • no thats treat williams

  • is that angry army guy that keeps chasing the navy guy played by Robert Sean Leonard????

  • The young lady being held upside down while flashing her sexy yellow underwear is actress Debbie Rothstein who now is a voice actor for cartoons.

Her stockings didn't seam to fit, though...

  • Yellow panties and frilly yellow garter belt!

    NICE!!!

  • heh, we play the song for marching band...it's pretty awesome :)

  • umm.... how suspicious??? our band is playing that too! what band are you in?

  • east kentwood, in michigan, what about you?

  • The Maverick Band, in Texas. i thought you were from the same band or something

  • that would be really weird. lol.

  • yeah it would, and we got a 1st division at UIL

  • The music reminds me a lot of Benny Goodman's Sing Sing Sing.

  • I heard this played by an Army jazz band under the title of "Swing,Swing,Swing."

  • This dance is a combination of a Busby Berkey meets Tom and Jerry, Spielberg is a master of these things.
