  • How should I bathe my bird if they:

drink out of the bath, doesn't like the sink, and steals lettuce from the bath water that i put together?

  • Budgies usually "take a bath" because it's fun for them to splash around in water. It's not like they have to take a bath or a shower to clean themselves. I usually put a bowl with a little bit of water and some salad or basil leaves near their cage. Sometimes they love to splash around and sometimes they don't even touch the water.

  • 寒がってるじゃねぇかよ

    He feels the cold.

  • My Budgie absolutely hates bathing, he'll NEVER do it by himself in his bath, so everyone saying budgies do it in their own time... Yeah, your budgie might but not mine! If I spray him with a mist of water he goes crazy and flaps about screeching, even when he's so dirty he smells. These budgies seem calm but confused to me, to say that every budgie has to enjoy a bath is stupid.

  • you know...mine doesn't bath by himself... he needs me to sprinkle water on the wrist.......youtube.com/watch?v=nz4ZoXGfyRk

    youtube.com/watch?v=qAyWD26z9kY

  • the cocatiel seems a little pushed out from the budgies

  • There are couple of things wrong wit this bath, but all is not bad.

    * They prefer not to be in an enclosed space

    * They prefer a lower level of water

    * They prefer a stready stream of water, rather than a one one off stream which is repeated intermittently

  • They look frightened.

  • when I give my bird a shower he always falls asleep

  • sorry but those birds are terrified. budgies and cockatiels choose when to bathe, if they were enjoying that experience they would be making a noise.

  • @LolaSweetheart ..the birds are not terrified, frightneed or scared. If so, they'd be trying to fly their little wings off and squawking trying to get the hell out of the tub.

My tiels love being squirted with water on hot days, and they just sit there and soak it all in, like these guys, even though they are out of the cage (they're tame, so I let them fly around the house) and so can easily fly away if they choose.

  • cockatiel needs a partner, get one :-D

  • big yellow bird has a pika face

  • cockatiel is forever alone...

  • They aren't even bathing, they are just huddled in a corner.

  • Somethings wrong. They are all hiding in the corner, they look terrified. They aren't flapping around and enjoying a bath.

  • Cute!

  • Looks yummy :)

  • Do you only have one cockatiel? You should get a cockatiel partner for him...

  • the budgies look tired...its so cute

  • parteh! xD

  • That would look bad if there was people that watched this that had no idea how to clean them they would think that they were being abused

  • But I have one cockatiel and in a boock of cockatiels says to give them the water as if it's rain, becaus as they used to live in australia there they had bath when it rains. =)

  • geezus people. let the person give the bathes how hey want

    an't your birds

  • They don't look happy at all :'(

  • u should only give them baths in the summer when its hot

  • Before you buy that many birds learn their body language! Can't you see that they don't enjoy this at all and just want to get away?? You can't force a bird to bath!!!

  • Nothing to bad here because birds have baths all the time. Its called a "bird bath" lol. Just dont spray em like that, try to comfort them then you can drizzle some water on them with your fingers. Just comfort them so they dont have a heart-attack.

  • THEY ARE JUST SITTING THERE.

  • That's a lot of birds! Looks like they don't like baths very much! hahaha

  • "Birds have bath" should be titled "birds in bath with water about to shit them selves"

  • In my experience, it only takes one of them to start splashing about for them all to begin bathing. But jeez. Complete stillness.

  • i thought cokatiels and parakeets fight alot but anyway thats real cute

  • @lightningstrike555 generally they don't get along..especially when it is one cockatiel against more parakeets-the parakeets (budgies) are known to bully cockatiels..people don't really think that it would happen because tiels are so much bigger, but it does, and sometimes can get quite bad:( that is why your vet and/or breeder should always tell you NOT to house keets and tiels together..

  • AHH! the cockatiel is like, maybe if i scooch in every 10 seconds ill be with the gang

  • BIRD KILLER! I let my birds get sprayed or dabbed with water every 12 hours!

  • @HTTYDLover fuck do I care?

  • @Plantationvideos Hhahah okay little bitchy girl! Fuck your dad! Thanks! ^_^ :DDD

  • @HTTYDLover kid.... get a life.

  • Parrots and budgies are two different types of birds. Also both of them have different types of requirements, while budgies can be around 10 to 15 years old, I have heard about birds which have lived to about 20 years, it is however not very common.

Parrots however, can live to about 60 plus years, in fact, a parrot can outlive their owner.

I admit that I am a fool because I didn't clearified that I only have experience with budgies, and budgies is the only bird that I am discussing.

  • @idsantos a budgie IS also a parrot, it is just a very small one, lol..cockatiels and budgies both belong to the psittacine group. Psittacine Birds include cockatiels, parakeets, budgerigars, and all the birds known as parrots.

  • Some people should not be allowed to have animals, starting with you.

  • @lunabake why? because shes giving them a BATH?!?!?! WOW. baths are actually RECOMENDED by AVIAN VETS. and usually birds need around 2 baths a week, smartness.

  • @erisinger No, because this is a horrible way to give them a bath.... they are not enjoying it at all. They have no way to get out. They are huddling together and are clearly stressing. Happy birds play and sing and fluff up. They do not try to stand on each other to get out and sit in silence. :( I am willing to bet they do not have a large enough cage for that many birds either.

  • @RevyNai Agreed..You make some great points

  • @RevyNai well u can just spray them with fresh water from a spray bottle every day.. cos they wake with the morning dew on them naturally so thats the best way.. or just leave fresh water bowl for the..

  • @RevyNai thye can get out. i found out that my tiel hates bathtubs because when i tried to put him in one he jumbed out as fast as i put him in. now i use a spray bottle which he loves

  • @erisinger You are right, BUT any good avian vet will tell you to keep budgies and cockatiels Separated..also she isn't doing it very well-she is scaring them, and not comforting them..baths can be very stressful for birds, and these birds ARE DEFINITELY stressed and scared, so why does she just keep spraying them with no comfort?. I am a veterinary technician (my specialty is in aviary and exotics) and I have never seen any good bird-parent treat their birds like this-with no love:(

  • You should just leave fresh water out for them all the time and they'll bathe when they feel like it. I don't really agree with everyone here that is saying you're abusing them though. I didn't see anything abusive going on, they just didn't feel like bating at that time. Birds do things when THEY feel like it, not when YOU feel like making them.

  • @Turdbuckethat I agree with you regarding bath time i keep cokatiel and they prefer getting wet by rain water then me doing it.

  • omg they are so cutei haveonejust like that yellow one but with red eyes

  • If I saw a 50 meter high giant, I would also run like hell, just like the bird.

None of my budgies have tried to fly away, maybe in the begining but in general, no.

And the last one even slept on my shoulder with the head buried betwwen the wings, thats what I call trust...

  • I have had several birds and I know that it is ok to keep the bird in cage the first time, also it is very important to interact with the bird in the begining as mush as posible.

Try to remeber that it is not you, and I mean all of you bird owners out there, who is the master, it is the bird, but is up to you, the owner, to win the birds trust.

    The birds trust?!...

Try see it from the birds point of view, the bird is very small, and you are very big, so naturally the bird is scared of you

  • and you're a girl, dumb ass lmfao. stop trying to own everything in the world.

  • Poor little guys, they want to get out

  • dont look like they are enjoying themselves to me. Look like they are scared all huddled together like that!

  • Well, what I see is just an anxious group of haggard birds - like a rounded up herd of cattle. So that might be everything - but no lucky, lively birds!!! Just compare to other shown bathing-videos.

    >>> Please tell us: Why do your birds do not try to fly away?

They do not use their wings one single time...

  • they look scared...

  • co cute thier taking a bath!

  • aahhhhhrrrr GET TO THE CORNAH

  • THE ARMY OF BIRDS >:U

  • Great collection of birds i will have similar like you 5 parakeets 2 cockatiels

  • Maybe a uv light(with a metal screen to protect them from hitting the hot bulb) will help them feel outdoors, like the sun is out, not just cornered in a cloudy day.

just saying, they ar ecute though.

  • The birds aren't flying away which could mean that the wings have been cliped, which I think should be banned.

Clipping the wings of a bird is a sort of bird mistreatment, because the bird can not fly away.

Image if someone paralized a cat, so it can not away!...

  • @idsantos Hehe, imagine you buyin a macaw for 500 euros ;) Would you like it to fly away if you know its not used to you yet, my pet cockatiel has been with me for over 2 years now and i clipped him in the beginning. He always tried to fly away and nearly lost him, not he doesnt even try anymore :) Good stuff He "sings" jingle bells

  • @idsantos Nah thats very stupid i wouldnt want my bird flying away and losing it. "Oh great another bird flys away time to go spend another $20-$100 for the millions of times i bought birds before!" Plus mine are way to crazy with their wings like one of my parakeets doesnt know how to fly and she crashed on walls windows chairs so i have to clip her wings.

  • @idsantos if their wings were clipped u would be able to c it they're mostly just scared(Budgies) but the cockatiel, well, if ya noticed that it had not moved so its not scared

  • @idsantos You're a fool. Indoor pet birds like parrots should have their wings trimmed slightly so they can soft-land if they do try to fly, but they should not be able to gain altitude or build up much speed. Indoor birds can be startled into flying into windows, ceiling fans, drowning in toilets, or outright escape if a door is open.

Domestically bred birds do not know how to survive in the wild. If they escape, they often die from starvation or exposure.

  • @idsantos he didn't clip them, fucktard, go rot in that hole you call a life

  • Poor birds!

  • I have the same amout of parakeets and I also have one Cockatiel awesome!

  • NOT cute..they are all terrified and can't even move...all huddled together. Poor birds!

  • poor birds

  • YOU have a lot of parrakeets!!

  • boring

  • @HorseLover5585 don't fucking it then, you dumb shit

  • I love the random cockatiel in this mix! They seem to really love the water.

  • you have ALOT of Budgies O.O

  • The big one is a difrent typ of bird its a cockatiel the small ones are budgies and ther hudling together because they are trying to stay safe lol it is safe!

silly little cheeky cute things =)

  • lol, they aren't enjoying that, last time i sprayed mine with a mist from the hose they started going crazy, dont do that anymore :P

The pigeons didnt seem to bothered.

  • Wow, those are not happy budgies. This video makes me sad for your birds.

  • see how theyre all cuddled up? theyre probably really cold T_T all you have to do is wet them abit and take them out, they looked really scared :S

  • wow that's a lot of budgies lol.

    they're cute though:)

  • Uhh if you want to bathe them, all you have to do is spray them with warm water and let them groom it out..you don't have to stick em in the tub

  • they can get sick that way

  • 10 birds wow

  • They look upset, not like the other bird bath vids I've seen where the birds are not scared and actually enjoy thier bath. Maybe you should get a book about proper bird care,

  • how old are they?? 1 month?

  • Lol the budgies are all huddled up, and theres a big cockatiel kind of off to the side

  • doesnt ur budgies and cocateil fght my budgies always poke my lovebird and my lovebird bites their toes

    y do they do that??

  • @BirdBoy6781 Because budgies are sort of bullies, lol..altho it isn't really funny, that cockatiel is off to the side because tiels and budgies generally dont get along at all-budgies are very well known to bully cockatiels..

  • do they have there wings cliped?

  • @mimi9312 this is america, speak out language!

  • @Plantationvideos wtf! Where he is, he ISN'T in america!! Youtube isn't only for americans you fool!

  • @mimi9312 Sie haben Recht. sie sehen sehr unglücklich: (

  • aww the chubby budgie or is it a cocatiel is like the ugly duckling so lonely...

  • any second now ones gonna flap its wings and they all get soaked by the supersoaker bird!

  • so cute

  • Aww the tiel is like the ugly duckling. xD

  • haha, yes, it's the swan!

  • that is a little sad, speacially the one tiel...he is like an outsider....

  • Actually, if they didnt like it, they would be struggling to escape. They're just hanging out.

  • ha ha ha are you serious ??? where the fuck can they escape to??? think before typing that kind of nonsense... i bet that's not the first time they having that kind of "bath" and probably they tried to escape 1st times until they realized with what kind of moron they're dealing.

  • Poor birdies... they do not look very happy.

  • jeez didn't look like a bath to me..... more like a mockery of poor birdies. don't fucking make them take a bath !!! if they don't bath themselves means they don't want to !!!

how fucking stupid people can be ....

    ....holy shit.

  • @MrKryptoknight did your pocket fall off?

  • this is so funny. they are all just standing there, packed up

  • I HAVE THE SAME COCKATIEL

  • Cute birds, but try not to scare them as much, they look Terrified!

  • Cute bunch. Mabe looking a bit harassed though. They should bathe themselves if the have a little water and feel secure. No towel though as you can restrict their breathing. Best to put them in a reasonably warm room and they'll preen their feathers and dry off naturally.

  • geil

  • Between this video & the other one ("birds dry off after bath"), a commando team should be commissioned to break in after dark and rescue these poor guys.

They're miserable. Join a bird forum online or get a book on 'em for guidance.

  • @paice30 Damn you're annoying

  • @paice30 your right:(

  • yuo have alot of birds i have 4

  • lol the cockatiel must feel so left out

  • i know you were tring but.... if u wrap ur bird in a wash cloth like around his back and stuff then turn warm water in in the sink it works alot easier i have a cockatiel and she LOVES when i do it so you should tri that jus make sure wen u are done u wrap her in a towel for like 5 min to get her dry

  • some bath...i've seen brighter moods in the line leading up to the gas chamber in Aushwitz

  • I think the budgies are cold because they are huddled up in one corner. You should have a bathing spot where they can come out and get back in. But, a budgie does need a bath every once in a while. I suggest putting a cloth at the bottom of a sink. they can perch on the cloth but they don't get soaked a lot. They can get in the water surrounding and get back on the cloth. The cloth should be a little wet too. All you need is a few adjustments but otherwise everything else was good. :)

  • yeahhh theyre not bathing. they look scared. even the cockatiel doesnt want to be in there. i put mine in a frying pan (obviously not on the stove lol) on the floor with a towel underneat and with room temp water in it and my cockatiel loves to jump in and bath himself (and hes not a fan of the sprayer but when i dribble water on him, he loves it). he likes to be able to climb in and out, come and go as he pleases.

  • this bath is whack!!!

  • Those birds should have a chance to get OUT of the water if they want, being forced to sit in the water is not having a bath! If you want to see a budgie have a bath look at my video...my budgie is ENJOYING its self...do you realize the budgies are trampling eachother TRYING to get OUT?!?

  • @BethanyandSammy

Give them a series of perches or something and STOP SQUIRTING THEM!!! Those aren't happy chirps. Those bzzt-like chirps mean "BACK OFF!" They aren't fluffed out or singing. You really don't know what you're doing. Poor things. *--_--*

  • @BethanyandSammy their wings do not appear to be clipped, trust me, if they wanted to get out of that tub they would! My birds do the same thing and they are fine with it, when they have had enough of th water they get out.

  • @TrueGuitarGod They are probably too terrified to get out, that is not a bird enjoying a bath. A bird enjoying a bath with splash around in it, jump around, make a mess. Not sit huddled right close together staring at a wall.

  • @BethanyandSammy u8h they arent moving at all they are just huddles smartass

  • @BethanyandSammy shut up you!

  • these birds clearly are not bathing ,you should have a proper place for them to bathe,so they can enjoy themselves!

  • Not liking this bath here let me OUT!!! They like the sound of running water but Not at all happy with what your doing they are huddling they would like something to step up on .

  • Their wings look clipped and they clearly are not enjoying the experience. You should let them take their own showers instead of forcing them into a bathtub with an inch of water. Stop abusing your animals.

  • holy..... so many!

  • hahah that comment was hilarious and exactly my thoughts.. lol

  • sory for ur los, guyz i need 2 know something, i hav a cockatiel, clipped wings, he eats well and make alot of noise when music is played, but he doesnt like 2 play much, whenever i leave him on the floor or anywhere, he doesnt come 2 me or go 2 his cage, he just keeps standing & looking around. wat should i do 2 encourage him 2 play and be active? and how can i get him used to me, he does'nt eat from my hand , and he tries 2 avoid any cuddling, he only like 2 cum up my shoulder wat should i do?

  • You should join a cockatiel forum, Im sure someone there could help:) Good luck...

  • Some are like that, he may not have been handled much as a hatchling. Our little Sunshine is the same way, though she loves to huddle in tissue boxes (nests in them).

  • haha! adorable... & so many!!! arent they scared tho... just wondering

  • aww, the tiel was excluded from the group.

  • My birds do the same thing! It's so cute! :D

  • so adorable!

  • soooo cute!!!! how do you put them back in therecages!!!!!!!

  • Wow! Oh my! thats so cute! next time try turning the shower on. they like that. the mist from the water will hit ur birds and they will even go into the water. or turn the tub tap thing on.. very low, they like this.;D

  • ooo they look so innocent...haha..so cute~

  • aww there all cuddled together =D

  • they r so cute :X the big one is a boy or a girl ?

  • Its too young to tell.

  • @aditzaingerash The big one is a difrent typ of bird its a cockatiel the small ones are budgies and ther hudling together because they are trying to stay safe lol it is safe!

silly little cheeky cute things =)

  • Nice flock you got. But don't the create alot of mess and dust in the room?
