I hate when people say stupid shit like this guy is copying Malmsteen. I see this all too much with people commenting on Japanese metal bands. It's called being influenced, he isn't copying. People should know what they're talking about or shut up, it's that simple.
Malmsteen copied Hendrix as far as looks go. He was influnced by Paganini, Bach, Mozart, etc. He was big on classical. Shima looks like a japanese malmsteen he even has the weight down.

x japan is much better than this band at least x japan has originality with their music not unlike norifumi shima who tries ripping off malmsteen and also hide and pata are better guitarists
Maybe not Pata, but Hide was pretty talented. You can't compare Norifumi and Hide, not at all. Hide is visual kei rock, whereas Norifumi is neoclassical metal on the same vein of Yngwie Malmsteen.
I, personally, prefer listening to X-Japan, but both are extremely talented.
Yngwie Johann Malmsteen is basically known for having popularized the whole Neo-Classical genre, not creating it like many falsely claim. He has influenced thousands of guitarists around the world.
Neo-classical style, was not even invented :S for fuck's sake :S just that people like Ritchie Blackmore and YNGWIE had this classical music based-touch, so they decided to do the typical classical stuff...but...about inventing classical...or NEOclassical, go ask Bach, He invented it
and Concerto Moon? Ark Storm? they don't rip Yngwie...it's just the same metal genre, something wrong about it? like you're gonna get paid for the worry? :S wtf dude
Not ripping Yngwie? I guess you missed the cream colored Stratocaster and the same phyrgian note patterns. He even dresses and acts like him dancing around on stage
Norifumi began playing before Yngwie, but Yngwie is more skilled. If anything. Yngwie copied Shima. Norifumi does have some style, though, where Malmsteen is very textbook.
Bach didn't invent "neoclassical". The word means "revival of classical". Bach was one of the main constituents of the classical movement in the past, and artists like Norifumi, Paul Gilbert, Malmsteen, etc reinvented the genre. All of these men took great influence from Bach.
The term "Neoclassical" is a pretty stupid name though to begin with as it is implying that classical music is dead, which it isn't.
Plus by definition nothing that Malmsteen, Norifumi, etc. play has anything to do with classical since classical music is "academic music" and their music, to make it short, isn't.
They are just influenced by classical but they're still simply guitarists who play Hard Rock/Metal.
Yes, they do play hard rock/metal, but some of them (Malmsteen and Gilbert especially) do their renditions of classic compositions like Air on a G, etc.
Does anybody knows what is Takao Ozaki doing nowadays?
I think he is very good! I've read people saying he isn't good, but he do is. A lot of japanese singers (heavy metal)sound too high, they have kinda girlish voice, and have a hard time trying to hit lower notes and sounds totally fake when they attempt. They want to sing like western metal singers but they don't have the voice. Try Galneryus cover for black diamond then.
Takao Ozaki's voice is amazing specilly on "fight for the death".
I read somewhere that the reason Ozaki left Concerto Moon was because his voice was starting to get too weak... even for studio recordings. But I don't know... Maybe he's still a folk singer somewhere in Japan.
So, unfortunatly he left the metal scene, because I don't know any japanese heavy metal singer who can sing like he did.
I also like Japanese singers, Toshi, Yama B, Eizo (to mension only metal singers). But they are kind of limited... and Yama B, for example, tries to sing lower pitch, and sounds fake. (but I like him)
Galdor has a bit of reason, it's not compare-able to johansson or andersson, or even Yuhki from Galneryus, but he plays very good...
another thing, andersson's solos are also very fast scales in a row, don't know why you say thi is a bad solo...the only thing i HATE is the LEAD sound, it sucks!

Of course I can say it's bad. It doesn't matter how it is meant to be played. If the solo is like this on album, then it sucks on album too. And I can say it's bad, cause I know more about keyboards than you might think.

the guitarist sure acts like yngwie :) with hte kicking and stuff. but thats not a bad thing because he's good anyway :D let there be more malmsteen wannabees
Well I haven't seen his other posts but as far as Yngwie goes he does have a point. Both Yngwie and Concerto Moon have great classical touches (though I haven't felt the urge to listen to anything Yngwie in years).
Norifumi Shima a real virtual guitar player, he have a great control on his picking technique and arpeggios.Really a great influence and one of the neoclasssical God's. THANK YOU SHIMA FOR THE INSPIRATION

Um, no. Yngwie released two albums (Steeler and Alcatrazz) the year that Shima began playing guitar.

See above.

I'm thinking that you need to listen a bit more carefully to Yngwie's playing...

Takao Ozaki is a japanese folk singer now, as far as I know, and leaving the metal scene is said to be his own choice.
Shima comented Takao's voice to be weak, but not as a bad voice. He was often without voice (could be a medical condition).
I don't think that japanese singers try to copy the westrn ones. They have a special singing style I personaly like very much.

Cause the whole thing sounds very sloppy and has no recognisable melody in it. He just randomly plays some notes very fast in a row.
