Physical media is necessary. Consoles will never work with DLC-only service, and I can tell you this out of personal experience.

Look at Zeebo. It was one of my favourite time-killers when things were slow at the office, but the service was terminated late last year and all I can do with my Zeebo now is use it to bludgeon cats when they come and crap on my welcome matt.

@Lupucillo I agree that physical media is necessary, but companies are trying their best to figure a way to do away with it. Zeebo mainly played older games, correct? Maybe that's why it failed, look at the success of devices like iphone, ipad, ipod and maybe even Onlive. Those are the devices that major corporations are looking at. I hope I don't see tha day that things go all digital, but it's a possibility in the distant future for sure.

@PointBlankGamez Actually, Zeebo has some really good exclusives from small-time game developers, some hilarious titles that were exclusive to the South American market, and perhaps the best game on it was Zenonia, a full-blown RPG. I got it because it was from Tec Toy AKA Sega of Brazil, and it looked promising, but sadly they killed it off too soon.

But the market here is kinda wonky, most game systems aren't legally imported and they're not readily available in stores.

I knew exactly what I was doing when I made that video flicking Digital Distribution im kinda like on the side of Digital being a primary choice but I still support the positives of what digital can provide it helps alot of people. I completely got what you were saying with people blindly joining without knowing what the hell they were supporting it's like them joining the some revolutionist group then finding out their gonna have to kill innocent people know what your fighting for! I'm a huge supporter of digital media. I personally dont like having shit just laying around for me to look at. People change though. I had a big stance against EA games after my debacle with BF:BC2, but after some time I gave Origin a test drive and actually like the program. I know have BF3, NFS:Run, and SWTOR at my fingertips and they have preformed flawlessly on the PC for me. Some people get caught up in shit in the heat of the moment; some people just do it to be blind sheep.Great vid

They look at those numbers, but then they look at the PSPGo and think, screw that! But at the same time, in the future when it goes all digital I'll stop playing current-gen, not that companies care, but they can fuck off anyway the money whoring twats they are.

To be fair I only did a video for comedic value, I was tempted to use my dog and type "Giving the Paw", but instead chose in bed with two Atari's :), I'll remove now that the people I wanted to see it have seen it.

@DemonOfGaming Yeah, I see what you mean about the PspGo. I personally won't stop gaming if the future goes all digital. I have been gaming for a long time(I'm an old ass bastard! lol) and it's a large part of my life, so i couldn't just stop. It was never really about a console for me, it's more of the experience you get from the actual game itself. Thanks for your input man, it's greatly appreciated.

I'm not going to make a video giving the finger to it when I myself have used it and will probably use it again in the future, yeah I haven't used it as much as some people have but I have used it...I'd be a hypocrite if I did =/

Seriously though, I don't mind some forms of DD. DLC, phone apps, XBLA games and whatever are fine by me. It only really starts to matter when it comes to full-scale games.

It's always great to go into a store and find some game you've never heard of or never played and have it turn out awesome. If everything was DD that would go away and that is sad. A balance would be best really.

Physical media should be around for quite some time. Who the hell wants to dowload a 50GB blueray game for the PS3? Most people dont have fast enough internet connections and enough hard drive space to handle these big games.

@TheSideshowNick Yes, digital media is rough now, because of the current bandwidth of most ISPs and hard drive space on consoles. In the future I can see bandwidth increasing and hard drive sizes increasing and don't forget about the CLOUD service, where no HD is needed.

It is up to the consumer to write these companies and tell them how they feel. Why put energy into a video saying this digital thing sucks? or you hated this part in a game yet you can send an email to the developer or publisher themself?

It's angers me. EA isn't on here hitting F5 in hopes of seeing what ppl think and more developers will go that digital manual route if more people choose the wrong forum in time.

Tapes, CD's, MP3's, MP4's there will be another format yet it will be digital. Record companies measure digital sales more so than actual physical sales.

As for games I can agree. IF people keep buying DLC and say you know what I'm not buying a copy I have no space in my house, or no manuals no sale than yes it will happen.
