He told the student her problems are HER PROBLEMS, not his.
Then when he couldn't remember his promise and he gave Frank Weiss a partial account of what had happened, and made it seem like I was contacting him for no reason, how did your blind trust sustain Daniel Brou when he got me illegally fired on a partial account? Neither Daniel Brou nor Frank Weiss bothered to fact check. But who needs fact checking when you have blind trust? Why check facts or provide facts when you have blind trust, right, Joanne Yiokaris?
Joanne Yiokaris's blind trust of Daniel Brou, who lies, cheats, and steals, supposedly inspired this great work, his dissertation, so what part of the dissertation do you like, Joanne? Where's your influence strongest?

This song is absolutely stunning...one of my favorites. So I'm disappointed to find this video so distracting. I don't even hear the music. All I see is the director's gratuitous attempt at showcasing his obsession with "digital color technology."
Neko drinking the bright pink icee is the dead give away for his lameness.
It's about the messiness of affairs--emotional or real. Affairs of the heart or body are ugly, messy, and gross to the normal eye, and this video showed that. The viewer is genuinely grossed out by the slime, etc. that spills over. Plus, there's a drama to affairs that normal relationships cannot capture, hence the exaggerated colors of the video. It's completely on target.
Seven out of eight members of The New Pornographers all have even more discography tied to their names. Danny Bejar alone has appeared on 14 albums not counting anything by The New Pornographers, And he is in two other bands - Destroyer and Swan Lake, The latter has members from another band with yet another six albums... I think my wallet is REALLY going to be hurting this year!

@zeromine123 Eh. "High on Jackson Hill" was disapointing. I found out about New POrnographers via Immac Machine too, and It took about a year to really get into them. Since then though, I do think NP is a better band, and Immac Machine's best feature, Kathryn, is kind of put, unjustly, into the backseat of both groups. (although to be fair, I suppose, she is a junior member of NP...)

I brought the album about a week before it was shown on chuck and i just had a mental block for hours trying to figure who sung it, then listening to it in maths it hit me and i yelled out, teacher was not too impressed
it pisses me off how closed minded the top 20 people are to not even look at stuff like this. i guarentee if the top 20 people put this song on there it'll be an instant hit
I believe it's about how two peoples lives are like, black and white, very simple, and kind of meaningless until they meet each other. And then when they do, everything becomes more vibrant, has colors... kind of like how some people would describe love, in a relatively cheesy way. I don't understand the gooey paint splatters, however.
great video, though the only thing I can think of for the bleeding colors is that
A) love is messy (metaphorically and physically)
B) it is to represent Neko Case's tears about how she feels for the guy and wishes she was there(which could also explain why her drink was originally the only thing that had color)

This video reminds me of the feelings I had for a girl in high school. At one point, I felt as though we were so close we could have been together forever. Then there was nothing. She was gone forever.
