VALHALLAS WARRIORS FROM THE WEST. Great vid, I embrace reality not stupidiy. Thanks FOR THE REAL deal. Very inspireing. They are in heaven, I say again Heaven. OUT.
I applaud the bravery and courage you have shown in Afghanistan. Fighting to bring hope and freedom to people long without any. Freedom, what we all hold dear. The governments new laws and actions concern me these days. So I ask what would you do if martial law was declared in America? Would you willingly subjugate the American people for the government? You all hold the key so I ask. Thank you for any responses.
I was there also in '06 with 3-10 GSAB. 10 of the soldiers you see in this video we lost in one day when our CH-47 crashed. Thanks to who made this video for helping keep their memory alive.
As a spouse of a former 10th mountian wife (A 4-25 FA) who served in Afghanistan 2006-2007 I must say how proud and honored I am to have been apart of the 10th moutain division. God Bless you all and thank you!
This is a touching and honorable tribute to the soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division. If anyone served with my brother, Major Doug Sloan, commander Battle Co. 1/32, KIA 10/31/06,feel free to contact me. Any stories or memories that I can pass on to our family helps with the hurt of his loss. Thank you to all who have served.
I knew Doug. He was well liked, respected by everyone. But I remember his sense of humor, love of junk food and his crazy mustache. I have some picture from Camp Blessing and the Waygal valley. Please feel free to contact me.
I did not know your brother, but my boyfriend did. His death is still difficult for him to talk about. Just know that he made a HUGE difference in the life of so many soldiers and he will never be forgotten. My boyfriend is different because of Major Sloan.
God bless your family. And thank you for your sacrifice.
whats the song called? please respect to the 10th mountain division and all you americans fighting the war we british respect that and will work in hands together in order to defeat the taliban.. i am joining the british paras soon and hope to 1 day be out there fighting..
I'm from NY and my in-laws have a camp on Cranberry Lake. I drive by Ft. Drum a lot. I just wanted to say go 10th! We love you guys! If any of you are up at Cranberry for 4th of July I'll be at the Cranberry Lodge at night. Stop in you've got a drink on me!
2 aussie sas soldiers were posted with the 10th as liason officers during operation anaconda and one of them wrote a book about it.he spoke very highly of those guys.thumbs up.
Excellent tribute to the men and women who serve in the armed forces to defend freedom, establish justice and promote long lasting peace. All who live in freedom and security are deeply indebted to you all. My son in now serving in Mehtar Lam and I pray everyday he and all who serve make it safely home. Cuidado!
Ha REALLY!? I heard there were 100 Insurgents. Over 1.5 million troops have been to Iraq and Afghanistan, only 3500 dead. Thats less than any war ever waged by America. Looks like you terrorists are slackin. And you've got nothin on the 10th Mountain HOOAH! Climb to Glory boys!!!!!!!
Army lore indicates the helmet and identification tags signify the fallen soldier. The inverted rifle with bayonet signals a time for prayer and a break in the action to pay tribute to the dead. The combat boots represent the final march of the last battle.
Very well done and a nice tribute to the 10th. My son was there for 16 months and served proudly along side Monti, Lybert and Bradbury. I thank God everyday that he came home safely. My son and all these men are heroes. Thank you all!
Theres quite a few people who served with the 10th Mountain division in my reserve unit here in St. Cloud, MN. I'm just starting my Army career as a reservist. stay safe guys! Hooah!
ask me the best and they are here men from all backgronds ready to protect eachother no man would trade theirs for another they protected theirs and there own remeber veterans day as the day america lost its fathers, sons and brothers in a war where no reward will make us forget neither the blood shed to our friends and brothers in arms may your souls find peace i would do anything for you
I'm an afghan and I salute for every life which is lost in the war against the alquaida terrorist and I'm sure one day my other countrymen will be as much respectfull and proud as I am to these heros these are the real martyres who will go to the heaven
When people like 531abbe put on a pair of boots, and can zero a weapon, they can talk. Until then, be proud that your right to say that was paid for by 231 years of our soldiers' (in all branches) blood. Thank you, 10th Mountain
My boyfriend soon to be husband is a Sgt. Promotable in the 10th Mountain Division. He was just deployed for the fourth time to Iraq in September. I swear I think I saw his picture. Not sure cuz I gun is in the way.

to anyone in the 10th Mountain,
I applaud the bravery and courage you have shown in Afghanistan.

No, they are from the 10th Mountain Division. Since 1991 they have been forward deployed more than any Division in the U.S. Army.

And thank you for your sacrifice.

what are the shoes from the soldiers who are killed in action for ? does it have a meaning ? or its this a tradition
Jimmyb666 4 years ago
Army lore indicates the helmet and identification tags signify the fallen soldier. The inverted rifle with bayonet signals a time for prayer and a break in the action to pay tribute to the dead. The combat boots represent the final march of the last battle.
Stillakilla187 4 years ago
It's called a combat cross. Historical examples of old armies using a soldiers sword stuck into the ground as a headstone.

When people like 531abbe put on a pair of boots, and can zero a weapon, they can talk. Until then, be proud that your right to say that was paid for by 231 years of our soldiers' (in all branches) blood. Thank you, 10th Mountain
