Hey man, I came back for another listen. Don't listen to the naysayers, I like hearing people playing this tune in their own way. I just posted yet another version of the song, this time with better audio quality/video than my last one. I'm using Sony Vegas for video editing these days and it makes vids look fantastic (I have superimposed me in front of a Van Halen audience going crazy at one point LOL). Anyway I hope you enjoy it! :)

In your case, if someone thinks Jaguars are crap, and you don't, leave them to it. One of you is right. But not caring saves you hassle and, most of all, what they think is none of your business. Your life then becomes a lot easier.

That is true, but the complaints I'm making are towards a specific group of people who deliberatly go onto my videos just to flame. You know the type, the elitist alternative guys or van-halen elitists who believe that a Jaguar or Van-Halen should not go hand in hand. It's fairly obvious witiout viewing that I'm playing van-halen on a Fender Jaguar. Also, I'm aiming that kind of pissy-ness towards people who say things like "fucking god damn you suck shit go fuck your momma fag" types.
As far as the playing mistakes, I only bitch when people say "god you suck", or don't give a REASON as to why I suck. To me, "you suck" is not valid without something to back it up.
I know what you're saying but no one *has to* explain themselves. And "you suck" is pretty self explanatory. And if they did explain, could you accept a list or get defensive?
Here is the best piece of advice - hard to adopt - but is priceless: "what anyone thinks of you is none of your business".

AS far as how I got it on the recording, I had a full-duplex sound card that allowed me to record the CD-ROM inside the computer playing back the backing track along with my guitar. It can sound great if done right, but it does take a few takes to E.Q. first.
I used to rock a Fender Bullet , and one of my favourite guitars ever was my 1982 El Degas Les Paul copy. It's not the pool cue it's the shooter. Good shootin!
Well, I'm one of the few apparently on the internet who can come to terms with the fact that I"M NOT EDWARD VAN-HALEN. Jebus. Edward plays striped strats, I play Jaguars. I'm as big a Van-Halen fan as the next guy, but I don't see all the holy worship of candystriped strats. Yngwie Malmsteen can pull off that sound, and he uses a STRAT with what are Single Coil Style pickups (and here we have a Fender Jaguar with SINGLE style pickups).
It used to, I took it off and installed an Allparts Jaguar bridge to the machine instead, mostly because it gave the whammy system more range, and stopped cutting my high E strings in half.

Not really any adjustments, unless you want it like mine, which uses 500K pots instead of the 1MEG ohm pots on the lead circuit. The pickups install like the old ones pretty much without the cover and claw, though I'm about to adapt those two things to "Jaguar-ize" those pickups more.

What I used was a backing track I downloaded from guitars101.com. These backing tracks are usually made by taking midi's of the partiular song, and re-recording the sound as an MP3. The one of Unchained sounds more like a Van-Halen tribute band made it though.
Ok thank you! And I just downloaded the demo of Guitar Pro and this kinda does what I'm looking for also. I will tell you young guys one thing: YOU'RE VERY lucky to have all this techonlogy today! I learned back when I was 18 (I'm 51 now) and back then you had to slow down albums on the turntable to learn songs! IT SUCKED! This Guitar Pro makes it super easy! Wish I would've had all this tech. back then. Dammit!
LOL, I'm in the same boat with you, I used to play everything to cheap record albums as I was a poor teenager in the mid-90's (The Cars records were $1 back then, that's right, $1 for an official 1979 copy of Candy-O on LP). I also used to hack tape decks to slow the motor down. This was stuff I dreamed about having in the 90's.
Yeah, I know it's out of synch, I just looked back at the original source (an 800MB file), and it seems to have something to do with the video encoding. I'm going to have a look around tonight and see what I can do to fix the problem on future videos.

An unmatched pair of Seymour Duncan SCR-1B (Bridge) Cool Rail pickups. And yes, that's the stock Fender Floating Tremelo I used, with a Tune-O-Matic.

Listen, how would I go about taking a music track and playing it back without the guitar being heard? i.e. Drop out EVH playing so I can play along without hearing me AND Eddie? I hope you know what I'm talking about. Is it a software program? A sound editor of some sort? Thanks!

What I used was a backing track I downloaded from guitars101.com. These backing tracks are usually made by taking midi's of the partiular song, and re-recording the sound as an MP3. The one of Unchained sounds more like a Van-Halen tribute band made it though.

Ok thank you! And I just downloaded the demo of Guitar Pro and this kinda does what I'm looking for also. I will tell you young guys one thing: YOU'RE VERY lucky to have all this techonlogy today! I learned back when I was 18 (I'm 51 now) and back then you had to slow down albums on the turntable to learn songs! IT SUCKED! This Guitar Pro makes it super easy! Wish I would've had all this tech. back then. Dammit!

LOL, I'm in the same boat with you, I used to play everything to cheap record albums as I was a poor teenager in the mid-90's (The Cars records were $1 back then, that's right, $1 for an official 1979 copy of Candy-O on LP). I also used to hack tape decks to slow the motor down. This was stuff I dreamed about having in the 90's.

Yeah, I know it's out of synch, I just looked back at the original source (an 800MB file), and it seems to have something to do with the video encoding. I'm going to have a look around tonight and see what I can do to fix the problem on future videos.
