  • and they soul shall burn in the depths off hell ware lifes fire and darkness lead us home :P

  • when they say thorns, it actualluy means the crown of thorns that Jesus wore on the cross

just thought i'd say this for you guys

  • wait is this a christain rock band o.O, seriously though is it?

  • @Angel0061000 Yes, the name does hide it alot doesn't it?

  • @Grayhawk1337 it really does lol

  • Wrong album art in the beginning...but amazing song :]

  • Greatest chorus EVER...its so eargasmic

  • @TheRhonx again it's referring to the crown or thorns, stupid emo

  • @kiowapache56 Avoid the insults m8, and look past the symbolism.

  • @kiowapache56 Its referring to whatever the fuck comes into someone's head mate, you're obviously not open minded or you'd understand music has more than just the artists presentation... Stupid ignorant fool.

  • @haru63 Ummm... a bit harsh much? When a song is written by a Christian band, there is only one logical way to perceive it. It's something called logical equivalence. And the whole bullshit thing about how religion doesn't matter about a song's meaning is false at best. This song has NOTHING to do with cutting or emo. To think it does is so fucking stupid that it's pathetic. This song is about trials and other non physical pains that are gone through and could maybe be about the crown of thorns.

  • @SpearHeadTheAssault - actually it is about cutting, read the interview with the band

  • @SpearHeadTheAssault Actually it does. They said in an interview. Cutting as in the act of giving yourself pain to deal with emotion. He's not saying it's a good thing, but Christians can sing about it. He's saying it's a horrible thing and the song is a song of encouragement for people dealing with it.

  • @SpearHeadTheAssault Look dude, if your gonna freak out and act like your gonna school everyone, at least get your facts right

  • @Grayhawk1337

What the hell, you respond to a comment that I posted that long ago and act like people still care about it. Who really gives a damn if I took a song the wrong way? Please don't hit me with your condescending bullshit. I made a mistake, several people have replied, and it's already been established what it meant long before you deemed it necessary to revive a long dead topic. So smart one, welcome back to now, and try to stay here. Leave the past where it lies.

  • @SpearHeadTheAssault Well said :D

  • @TheRhonx its about the crown of thorns Christ wore on the cross

  • @kiowapache56 Aye, he's using it to relate to the subject of cutting. Read the lyrics closely, especially with "Don't sever yourself for what you are, for what you couldn't be.". As well as, "In the emptiness of broken flesh, at the mercy of thorns.".

  • @TheRhonx its about the crown of thorns Christ wore on the cross

  • I'm pretty darn sure this song is about cutting, just saying.

  • @TheRhonx It is, the band says so themselves in an interview, google it

  • @NubianNut Aye, I Google'd it years ago out of curiosity because quite a few lines in the lyrics hinted at it. Only said my comment, because people weren't looking past DH's symbolism/artistic presentation.

  • praise the lord!!!!! He is greatness and awesomeness itself!!!!

  • wonderful but not even the blood is greater then the luv of god nothing can surpass that

  • @ssenmodnaR1 True, God's love is the reason He was willing to come and die for us, but I'm not sure that His Love and His Blood should be treated as separate things for comparison. Don't forget that is the fact Jesus bled and died that we can be reunited with Him. sin demanded payment in blood as atonement, which is why the Israelites had to offer sacrifices. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice at Calvary.

  • im a messianic jew but fck man i really love demon hunter !

we worship jesus/yeshua as the messiah

    christians worship him as messenger/son/god

but even if we hav e different toughts we both believe in him and dont honour a person for who he is but for what he did !

  • What exactly is the difference between Messianic Judaism and Christianity? I'm just wondering.

  • Is this metal ?????

  • @lasagna32 Yes thats why I try to listen only to Christian music as well. For that same reason that you stated.

  • great lyrics right?thats why i listen to christian bands, they dont sing about sex, drugs, alcohol, cars and guns..........or killing like death metal. :)

  • @lasagna32 Skillet sang "better than drugs" ;)

  • @avfcforeva2 In the song "better than drugs" skillet doesnt talk about drugs. he says that god is better than drugs. so yeah maybe he says the word but the band is just saying that worshiping god and loving him is wayyy better than drugs :P

  • my all time favorite song

  • Comment removed

  • love this song. god bless you and me and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

  • i love this song when you think about what Jesus did for you have to be amazed bc think about this how many of us would die for people that may never admit that we existed that just shows how much he loves us and how unworthy we are in the presents of God i thank the Lord every day for sending his only son to die for us so that one day we be with our Father in his kindom and he actually want us there bc we are sin free that right there is more amazeing than anything else in this world

  • @rosewiththorns39 I don't believe in god,so i could care less. :P

  • i luv this song! as soon as i started listening to it. it touched my heart music dosent really do that any more cuz its all bubble gum crap created by coreperations to make fukin money but i admit, i do listen to bubble gum crap music awsome song!

  • Great song, i love you God, thanks for everything..! (:

  • Man ,what an awesome song, Bless you all

  • you never really can tell the meaning behind a song unless you see the lyrics without the music.

  • I'm not christian but this song is catchy as hell so fuck it.

  • This song stirs up very strong emotions i can't describe..

  • I think I like it better when they actually sing instead of their "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" voice, I can hear the lyrics better and its actually really pretty when they sing normally, plus when they sing their songs don't always sound the same like the other more wilder ones. Oh well I still very much love Demon Hunter

  • i like both skillet and demon hunter, don't talk down either....

  • why do i see a bunch of skillet remarks on a demon hunter video? dant talk down about demon hunter on their song do it on skillets pages!

  • @pheonixphire22

Check out "dead inside" by skillet

It's one of muh favs.. But yeah, I take that first comment back. I'd only heard like 2 of demon hunters songs. I'm addicted to demon hunter now :P

it's an awesome ride for my ears :)

  • @gingerchick007 I listened to skillet at first. Then i came upon Demon Hunter. I found out Demon Hunter's song's have much deeper meaning, and sound better to me. But your opinion is your own

  • @xana1133

i started with pillar, went to flyleaf and skillet then to abr and demon hunter.

  • They're no Emperor......

  • <.< why do people all draw parallels with this kind of music? i can't tell pop stars apart and no1 complains about them, so why complain here?

  • 21 are death

  • SKILLET IS NOTHING LIKE DEMON HUNTER DEMON HUNTER FTW

  • Beautiful. This is like one of my favorite songs :D

  • @uykyk1

I take it back... I just needed to warm up to this song a bit... My fav from skillet is either monster or sometimes... But this songs my second fav besides ribcage...

  • Me too...

  • I wish i knew about Demon Hunter sooner.

  • 666th comment :p

    sry,had to do that :P

  • @nolnol7 not funny man

  • skillet is betta baby!!

but this aint bad... i'd say its just above eminem in my books... and i dont like his rap schtuff...

dont hate, im entitled to my opinion... but if you think this is hardcore.. look up djent :D

  • @gingerchick007 this song is my favourite, Awake and Alive from Skillet is my 2nd

  • @gingerchick007 Skillet is not better at all IMO... true this is not really hard core at all.... but they do make Skillet look like a soft little baby band though :D

I really haven't liked Skillet much since "Collide". They had a few good songs on Comatose but not enough to even get me to bother with Awake (yes I heard the singles and I was not impressed)....

  • 21 ppl are def

  • I just had a friend turn me send me one of their songs, and I have to say that they are pretty much everything that it is awesome.

  • Rockin out while worshiping my Savior. Awesome!!

  • Comment removed

  • This song just made me Eargasm...

  • @Rasen14 Hope you didn´t jizz out of your ears... That would be disgusting..

  • The recent comments on this song are surprisingly civil and mature. That's shocking. Good job.

  • i love this song:) it's an awesome song:D

  • I find this song really boring

  • @AKShaolin I'll respect your musical opinion, but I won't support it.

  • @bionicleselfmocist No doubt. I hate when people bash others opinions because theyre against theirs. I stumbled across this song and it just didnt do it for me. To each his own

  • @AKShaolin Agreed.

  • @AKShaolin it's a bit lighter than their other stuff too if u like harder music. try the world is a thorn or not i. i get chills even when i type the titles they're so awesome :)

  • athiest. but DH are fucking awesome.

  • @britmetal DH isnt athiest

  • OVO NISU SATANCI !!!!

  • jesus is good

  • Jesus is an awesome god!!! amen and amen, praise be to him for all eternity

  • this really Really REALLY sounds like a HIM song. ?

  • @MoonlitShadows777 It does, the start does anyways

  • @ick709 I think the chorus does too...not any particular one just in general.

  • @MoonlitShadows777 Yes, I think they stole a bit of HIM's style of music for this song. Who's your favourite? HIM or Demon Hunter?

  • @ick709 I think they did too...which is completely fine...Dream Theater and everyone in pop music does.

I like HIM more I love metal...I like how demon hunter has progressed and respect it.

  • @MoonlitShadows777 Exactly! It's only when they sing a HIM song and they think it's their song, that's when it becomes a problem.

Yes, I like more HIM songs than Demon Hunter. My favourite HIm song is "In Joy And Sorrow"

  • @ick709 True. Cool

  • @ick709 honestly i like them both but demon hunter has deeper lyrics so demon hunter

  • @swantar66 Yes, Demon Hunter do have lots of powerful lyrics in their music and this song shows off that bit.

  • as so adams tree apple tree died lmao

  • most of the time, christian metal kinda isnt so hot to me, but demon hunter is an awesome band :D

  • @BleachBasket108 hot? thats all metal is supposed to be to you is hot?

  • @BleachBasket108 amen to that brother

  • @shadowlordbamf lol, sister, you mean XD

  • this is deep

  • Geez. Take your arguments somewhere else, just enjoy the music! <3

Best band ever in my oppinion.

  • ugh enough of the bible talk just enjoy the song

  • @warriorkt135 Hey, I didn't ask for my comment to be thumbed up. I simply replied to someone who asked a question.

  • this is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard in my entire life, demon hunter almost makes me want to be christian. they're just so amazingly talented and the lyrics are just absolutely intense.

  • @83HSB dont "want to be christian" because of a band, they make good music, just leave it at that and enjoy it.

  • @haru63 its like a beautiful woman, hard to resist. listening to the words does sometimes make me want to believe. I'm sorry if you don't like that but yeah it does at times.

  • @83HSB Why not just believe and become a christian? It's as easy as that. Believe in Jesus and ask him to forgive you and come into your life :)

  • one dam good song

  • this is the best song in the universe xD that is my opinion ñ.ñ

  • I paused at 1:20 to bring myself out of my daydreaming... LOL! I love Christian Metalcore so much right now. XD this song was giving me scenarios for a story of mine. Sorry a few stories.

  • 18 people are Emo-Haters, and will get their throats slit.(I love commenting that)

  • no offense to anybody here like anyone. i no im not christian but um ya this is a song. A SONG PPL, i understand you guys are really religions no one has a problem with that but could we kinda stick the music and rock along to that cuz its a kick ass song no lies, but really its kinda awkward listening to a song n scrolling down to see people somewhat agruing about religion. n again i say this comment is not made to offend anyone if it does im sorry.

  • @MarkerLables I agree with you, mate, I am atheist(Mostly) and it just becomes Ragnarok when i see these religious comments. We do not care of blasphemy and stuff.

  • @MarkerLables i agree im christian and i say if u wana argue do it some where else just listen to the song dont argue lol good point.

  • The beginning is the best part :-)

  • It's funny to me to look down at the comments and see these hundreds of things on religion and the definition of blasphemy then come across a random comment of "Whoo! This song is awesome!" Can't we all just be like that comment and not bring religion into every video with a song by a christian/anyotherkindofreligious band? =P You could PM each other, not spam comment boards about blasphemy...

  • Woo!!! This song is soooo great!

  • These songs are not posted here for you people to wage a religious war on! Theses Vids are posted here for enjoyment purposes and to spread the word of God. Also to spread awareness that self mutilation is not going to relieve your pain! Jesus Christ died so WE could be cleansed. He suffered so WE don't have to. Whether you believe or not is not my concern. I am merely trying to say that is is rude and Highly disrespectful to post anti-Christ comments!

  • what a powerful message. . .

  • your loooove and greater is the blood!

  • Don`t you sleep through your own eulogy...

  • I love this song, I kinda wish they had made a video for this, it could have been good

  • this song is about the people who cut or burn themselves, and how christ can takeup the place of doing that, on there song explanation he exlplains it.

  • bets song of god!!!this is soo beutiful

  • for those 18 people who dont like this, im sorry for you

  • No matter who you are...have a great day and God bless you. Nice song. Nice band.

  • Jesus came knowing he would be crucified. That is why he is referred to as the Sacrifice. He came for us...to teach us of God's love; to save us from continuing to live in sin. He truly does love us! Thank you Jesus...praise the Father.

  • hcoaahaah

  • @DemonioCacciatore sorry, i shouldn't have said 'people like you'. that's really bias, and a lot of Christians (including myself) can tend to be hypocritical. sorry, hope i didn't offend anyone

  • @Bl00dxtra and as for God doing nothing, He sent His only Son to come to this sin dump and DIE for us SCUM. only Jesus could live a completely perfect life and die for all of humanity, giving us a reason to live. giving us life after death and not being doomed to hell. giving us a reason to care about and a want to help people like you :)

  • @DemonioCacciatore if god is all mighty and powerful beyond imagination he wouldnt of had to sacrifice his son

  • @razourik Sorry, but I have to butt in here. In the Bible, the punishment for sin is death. When Adam and Eve sinned against God, they were then on tainted by the imperfections that sin brought on them. As time went on, many would sacrifice animals so that their sins would be absolved. The birth of Jesus Christ was so great because he was in a sense, supposed to be God in the form of a man. By his death, he pays the debt required from the act of sins from all men. That's why he is so great to us

  • @funnyhomeboy1 also jesus was theo nly sinless one so he was the perfect sacrifice. you can't ask someone in debt to pay off your own debts.

  • Comment removed

  • @SongBird4Jesus27

    Actually Jesus wasn't sinless.

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (He doubted God's plan for him. (The Crucifixion))

As humans we all sin. To be forgiven of these sins we must put our faith in God and live by Jesus Christ's teachings and repent.

  • @Gronarix the whole point of jesus dying was because he was sinless. he was fully human yes, but he was also fully god. he became sin - he carried our sin. thats why god forsake him ion the cross. he did not doubt his path - he was scared. wouldn't you be? being nailed to a cross? he wished for another way but then said - 'not your will but yours' (refering to his father aka god).

  • @Gronarix PART TWO: he had to be sinless, you cannot ask someone in debt themselves to pay off your own debts can you? we can not work our way back to god by doing what jesus taught. we obey what jesus taughht out of love and to live hapy lives. we get to heaven by god's grace. jesus dyingi n our place - taking our punishment means we are free if we accept him.

  • @Gronarix

Back in Jesus' day, they only had the old testament and they DID NOT have chapter or verse markings. So to reference a Scripture they would say the first line of it. By Jesus saying, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" He was refering to Psalm 22 in the book of Psalm.

Please read the whole Psalm, do not stop after only a few verses. It can be considered a prophecy. It goes into great detail of the things that happened to Christ. He did not doubt, He fufilled the Scripture.

  • @funnyhomeboy1 yeah yeah, jesus is cool and all but still, god is an asshole. for example, he made adam and eve not be able to resist the powers of satan and gave them no knowledge of good and evil. he killed thoiusands of people with a flood when with his unimaginable powers he could of changed their mind or something. maybe it makes sense to christians but i have to question his methods

  • Comment removed

  • @razourik its true that god has that power to change our minds. He wouldn't do that though because he gave mankind a soul and free will to make our own choice

  • @razourik that takes away free will, the lord wants you to chose to follow him under your own recognizance, those who do not are dooming themselfs. its not god dooming you, its you dooming you.

  • @razourik agreed...ive been brought up a christian my whole life...but right now...im in a transition phase..about whether I still believe in him or not..

  • @razourik he killed thousands to save millions, if u would read some of the bible some of the people in this argument that do believe like the way us chritians believe all questions would be answerd

  • @funnyhomeboy1 - Exactly...Jesus is the ultimate sacrafice.

  • @funnyhomeboy1 Did God send down a memo approving of this? If I was a God, I'd call this blasphemy. Sounds more like an incomplete resolution to the cure of the radicalness of true Christianity. What's the point of having a list of sins if some kid can come by, take one for the team, and let everyone else slide by? So, in reality, there really are no such things as sins. It's like saying "Well, grand theft auto is against the law... but if you apologize, it's all cool.".

  • @Xmaggot93X

What's the point of having a list of sins if some kid can come by, take one for the team, and let everyone else slide by?

There's a difference between forgiveness and justice. Forgiveness doesn't imply total absolvance, it's simply freedom from guilt.

So, in reality, there really are no such things as sins.

I'm guessing this was an example from the logic explained above, but that's pretty much saying every action humanity takes is void of morals.

  • @Xmaggot93X

It's like saying "Well, grand theft auto is against the law... but if you apologize, it's all cool.".

No, it's like saying "Well, grand theft auto is against the law, but if you apologize, you might be forgiven by humanity, but you will face the consequences in the real world."

  • @funnyhomeboy1 So let's replace grand theft auto with masturbation. Billy gets chills in his willy, and has the urge to masturbate... knowing it's a sin. But it's cool. Because, even though it's sinful, it's forgivable. So Billy gets his forgiveness and masturbates every day, and to quench the guilt, he simply asks for forgiveness. Billy faces no consequences. As long as Billy believes that a guy died on two chunks of wood, billy can be as sinful as he pleases.

    It's also known as blasphemy.

  • @Xmaggot93X

Let's look up the definition of blasphemy, shall we?

    blas·phe·my

1.impious utterance or action concerning god or sacred things.

2.Judaism. an act of cursing or reviling God.

    3. Theology . the crime of assuming to oneself the rights or qualities of God.

If Billy starts saying, "Yes, I am the Almighty God" or "Fuck God" while jacking off, I suppose he is blaspheming, but really, I'm a little shaky on the whole 'masturbation is a sin' thing, TBH.

  • @funnyhomeboy1 you preach of sin, yet you bathe in your sin every day. don't pollute a "christian" bands decent music with your filth. Keep your opinions and doctrines to yourself. Insensitive religious folk. your entitled to your faith, but when you post shit like this in a pseudo-public place, you should expect offence from some audiences.

  • @haru63 Ironic. I made that comment in response to someone who was posting their beliefs on a 'pseudo-public' place. People who get their panties in a twist and spend 1-2 minutes of their lives ranting about how they were 'offended' by a single persons comment on a website seriously need to get together, have a party, and get drunk on bleach.

  • @afitzkillzazona To each their own.

  • @afitzkillzazona I think you are gay, cause only gay people are occupied with that shit

  • @funnyhomeboy1 he was perfect, and paid the price we never could. his perfect blood is worth more than we could ever imagine. ah, perfection....so dear but so far. you're very right sir. amen.

  • @funnyhomeboy1 Exactly, he was the perfect lamb. No other mans blood is as pure as his was. God called for perfect blood to be shed in order to cover sins. Since he was "GOD" he payed all our debts.

  • @funnyhomeboy1 Not imperfections, but alienation from God eternally...The linear way back is backwards.

  • @funnyhomeboy1 Not imperfections, but alienation from God eternally...The linear way back is backwards. Are you sure you know what sin is?

  • @razourik he did it to save us from our sins

  • @TDWPFORLIFE412 Lol that didn't do much good did it?

  • @razourik its all part of his big plan just live on with life and not question gods powerful mind he is almighty and his way is not our way

  • @razourik you didn't understand anything!

  • @razourik actually he did because adam sinned when adam was created, you couldnt tempt him for he knew only knew good. when he chose to disobey god, he lost his purity and became as every other man and knew good and evil. thus, god sent jesus to die on the cross for our sins and washed us clean of sin

  • @Bl00dxtra ... this since my previous comment took too much room. anyhow, yes, we do have to suffer for what Adam and Eve did. they WERE perfect, and God gave them the freedom of will; the ability to make choices (not just a bunch of robots). they used it the wrong way. therefore, since they sinned, we are born into sin. and because we sin we deserve to suffer and die.

  • @Bl00dxtra ok, i'm not saying you're an atheist, but you are obviously critical towards Christianity. I'm sure you can 'justify' your viewpoint on Christianity with 'facts'. but like someone else already said, just look up Genesis on google or something (prefferably NKJV, catholics have two creation stories -_-). when you read it, read with an open mind and please try to at least give it a chance. just think how much this would explain in our world. ill post another comment after this since thi

  • This song is for people who cut them selves or burn them selves. He was hearing about cutting and burning amongst teens an felt it in his heart to write it.

  • this song is about how god sacrificed himself for us

  • @MegaSteakburger Amen brother!

  • @homegrove123

I don't believe in religion and I don't give a fuck about science.

It's all bullshit to me. :)

  • I'm sorry, but anyone who believes in God, Satan or any of that shit should stfu and return to their bedtime stories.

    Just enjoy the music.

It doesn't matter what the song is about, as long as it's good.

    Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @eyesorearchitect Yeah, we should believe those logical ideas, like everything coming from nothing.

  • @eyesorearchitect i agree with you even though i am a christian it's a good song so everyone should just shut the hell up and enjoy the song

  • there are 17 people that missed the "Like" button

  • God Bless Demon Hunter!

    Thumbs up everyone!
