  • Im learning this in like a month or so

  • ya know im also studying martial arts but its kung fu its in phu shian temple.

  • most people go into martial arts for the wrong reasons.... they want to know how to beat up a person! That's the worst way one can view martial arts. You will never get the full benefits- wisdom, true strength, longevity, respect- i hear people bash wushu everyday and i feel sorry for them. i realize they suffer from inferiority complex

  • That was bliss to watch - fierce she must be named 龙夫人 (Long Furen)

  • finally, i train wushu and was searching for this form for weeks, i really want to remember it. It's a perfect excercise for cardio

  • how much memories!!

  • that's a very impressive performance

  • This form is really hard for me. I find it hard to memorize the punching motions.

  • aerial??!!??!!??

  • oo man this is hard i can do this like 2 or 3 min but my sifu ask me to do 1min 20 sec some 1 plss train me :"(

  • What is that move in the beginning called where she slams her fist into her palm?

  • zha quan

  • Comment removed

  • hammer fist

  • hammer

  • wushu is wushu very good

  • If you are a so called master "Zhang", then you would realize how silly your question is. Wushu IS chinese martial arts firstly, traditional, competitve included. Now almost ALL CMA have forms, so can you tell me how ANY of them are applicable in a fight? The answer is HOW YOU APPLY IT! When you watch their performance, you check to see if they conform to the principles of the movement, which stems from application. TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS PERSON...GO LEARN SOME MORE PLEASE!

  • 1. What does my username have anything to do with it? Are you some kind of repository of Japanese animation, "animedirectcoza"?

    2. I can tell you how applicable the forms are in a fight by watching CMAers fight and seeing whether they're actually using what's in the forms. Generally, that hasn't been the case.

    3. San Da has a good record, especially when pitted against other MA like Muay Thai. Now, find me a vid of other CMA being effective, then we'll talk.

  • Buckdich1, you are a moron....justify your comments.....YOU CANT! Tell me, what exactly is MODERN about this routine? Did they INVENT the moves or are they from traditional styles (ever heard of chaquan)? So if you know anything about martial arts you should answer your own questions and see how rediculous your comemnt is !

  • I'll bite. How's "we have NEVER seen any traditional Chinese martial art do well in mixed martial art competition" for a justification?

Traditional martial arts generally don't have that great of a fight record. The only ones worth a darn are the ones that shifted to training in a modern manner like San Da (from TCMA), judo and BJJ(from Japanese jiu-jitsu), Muay Thai (quite different from "trad" MT) or boxing and western wrestling.

Now justify your comments. How is wushu applicable to a fight

  • all wushu styles could be used in self defense, i mean yeh sum of the 720 degree jumps may not be used a self defense but look at the moves they can be used in self defense

chang quan has been around for centuries

chang chan stands for long fist boxing (see the word boxing).

n another thing people r taught to respect each others in wushu so ther not gonna pwnd each overs face out r they like in UFC (i think wushu is way better than acting like dogs in a cage

  • But...how are they applicable in a fight. At the very least, you would never use those stances in an actual fight, as they leave you way too immobile and tire you out. Yes, we know "wushu" stands for martial art. Yes, we know the "quan" part in "chang quan" means "fist". But calling a tail a leg doesn't make it so.

Have you ever watched an MMA fight? The idea that MMA fighters are these unrestrained testoterone-laden barbarians who just want to pound each others faces is the biggest myth ever.

  • ok i think i understand now yeh i agree with the stances but i think they hav them type of stances so they get used of acting fast in self defense yeh.

but in china they train that hard and much they would do better in than self defense than some in the uk or usa because their it is mostly ompetition.

  • My personal understanding with the stances is that they're meant to be conditioning tools to build strength and flexibility in your lower body. You wouldn't actually do this in a fight. In China, they do train harder, but it's the San Da guys who actually consistently pull off wins against other styles like Muay Thai and represent themselves in MMA.

You also shouldn't deride competition like that. It's actually one of the best ways to build actual fighting skills.

  • have you seen chinese martial arts in mma competitions or in k1except Cung Le?

There will come someone who will bring honor to wushu someday.. Like lyto machida represented karate, it took a while ,but a karate guy finally enterd the ring and showed what he could do with his martial art.. the same for wushu

  • yea but the whole purpose of MMA is to beat the shit out each other for entertainment.

Your missing the real point of Martial arts its not the brutality, hell its not even a sport.

Its the Art, the form the grace and style. That is why you dont see gung fu used.

all martial arts should know this that it shouldnt be used for picking fights but used to keep healthy and a healthy mind.

Theres no need for proving any style which is better, its whoever uses their arts best.

  • You are very right my friend... Someone out there has to do it.

  • acctualy it is. Maybe not all the jumps and all but some parts are usefull in fighting.

  • From experience in a party gone bad by some nutjob... yes it can be applicable in a real fight, you're not gonna jump and be fancy about it but you will be able to defend yourself without getting hurt....

  • speed is very good for this type of martial art

  • hey im workin on this form!

  • holy crap, me too! xD

  • Great Form,

I perfer the International Compoulsory Changquan Form :D

  • did you effing use the accelerate option for the first part. cos its nearly impossible and looks damn fake. and even the adult champions dun do it so fast

  • u'r right...they don't do it that fast, the do it faster ;)

  • look at the guy back there, he's sitting in the left.

  • nice!! I wish i was that girl. Cool wushu skills I would have. But more importantly, I can play with little boobies!!

  • u think thats fast? thats normal speed to me. its either your brain is at 66 megahertz or something

  • Hey this is the form that young Huo Yuanjia us performing near the beginning of Jet Li's Fearless.

  • yes, it is called "youth compulsory long fist".

  • This form appears in many movies.

  • yeah i'm learning this form too. this woman must have been practicing from a very young age, or for many years ( at least 7) to be able to do this form so well.

  • wow..her speed is mind blowing.

  • this is my gf, cool isnt she?

  • hahaha you wish

  • she is good but there are maney like that in china, in fact there are better ones and worse ones :-) (if you can call it that way... sometimes she seems to have forgotten the form (or is that the video or my computer slowing down somtimes? :-) cheers nice of you to post this ! g

  • yeh wen she does the jump at 27 secs its like she only just remeberd to do jump n messed up.

  • OMG!!! no way!!!!

  • she has to be THE top women in wushu, she was awesome

  • awsome. That's the one I am learning right now. I gotta learn to be that fast cause that is good.

  • its 5duan chanquan

  • nice jumps for girls

  • friends... it is not sped up... its not that amazingly fast to even care really... Just a solid performer...

  • Do you happen to the know the name of the particular long fist form she is practicing. I'd like to learn this one.

  • i believe it's called youth compulsory long fist

  • @jkeit1701 let see you do better lol

  • that's hot

  • just beautiful!

    BRAVO!

  • Shaonian Changquan form.

  • very good

  • She is good.

  • beautiful. the stances were fairly stable and accurate. probably the best ive seen in long fist.

  • i dont think it was sped up

  • This is a compulsory junior Contemporary Long Fist Form. She does it nicely as it should be in general.

  • It looks like it's slightly sped up. Not much, but it's noticeable.

  • I thought it was sped up as well, until I saw the dudes walking around in the background.

    Damn she's fast.

  • if you think its sped up, why people in background walking?

  • I might be wrong, but I suspect it might be slightly off in its timing. What does that have to do with people in the back walking?

  • bcuz if the video was sped up, the people in the back would be sped up too.

  • Awesome

  • sweet Cha Chuan

  • redsamuraidragon, you're totally right. china & wushu have diluted kung fu forms into dances. as you said, those stances are wayyyy to wide. but as i stated, its become a dance, it's all for show. i study hung gar, fut gar, wing chun, bak mei, and drunken, and in all of them, the enrgy comes from the ground. looking at her horse stance, which is pretty good in a few places but lacking teribly in others, you can tell that it's just a form put together for presentation and not for use.

  • LoL, as my friends and I refer to it as - "communist fu." I actually started wushu b/c I am trying to transition into martial arts in general from a dance (ballet) background. As you've noted, energy comes from the ground - ballet is like that too but there is such a thing as "too low" to the point where you're merely holding yourself up and not building that potential energy to match the kinetic energy. Still, I take it for what it is and I don't hate it for what it's not.

  • long fist in chinese is changquan, a northern style of wushu

  • actually i suppose it is a type of longfist but not tha kind u see in competitions lol ma bad XD

  • i dont balive that u have 2 yell to get chi out...i think its more a scare tacktick to throw off ur opponet in fighting...

  • i am a choy lay fut guy, but also study tai shing pek kwar, so i know what u mean about traditional vs. wushu, this clip is probably my favorite i've seen since its more traditional than the normal flash. i think there are some very good fighters in ufc, and the amatuer circuits, we have some fighters in ucf, i just wish more would step up rather than cut it, ya know... no offense to u, but most kung fu peeps wanna talk about fish stories and old dead chinese masters they never knew...

  • Im just blowin smoke and talkin crap. I know its different. No harm intended. I was just talkin from the "traditional" northern shaolin perspective. Its a different thing all together. Ufc doesnt draw any real fighters, only ones who want to prove their style is better, or claim fame.

  • Well with UFC having rules so people can survive the competition or not get injured too bad. It cancels out most martial arts only leaving you with martial arts like jujitsu and Muay Tai kickboxing to compete with.

  • This is a wushu long fist form. The stance work in here rapidly and repeatedly inhales. I thought longfist was a Northern Kung Fu type of thing. Those stances are WAY to wide to gather energy from the ground. China and Wushu are the ultimate butcherer of martial arts, more than the UFC ever could fathom.

  • Long Fist is a type of Northern traditional kung fu, mainly Cha Kuen this form has many traditional movements, more than the normal wushu form Her stances are actually accurate and very powerfull for her style, each style believes it is the more efficient style... so I beg to differ on your comment about width and power... As far as UFC... This is the greatest time for kung fu to stand up for what it REALLY is GOOD for... FIGHTING!!! we definitely need a place where we can test our skills better

  • sorry to disappoint my friend but this is not longfist it is in fact the intermediate form that one must learn before they can do long fist. I would know because I learned this exact same form

  • anyone know the name of this form...?

  • This form is Called. Fifth Dan Chang Chuan. This is not traditional by any means it has a lot of elements from Cha Quan and Hua (2nd tone) Quan and other long fist styles. This is taught as intermediate form at our school. Most students learn this within first year studying Contemporary Wushu. There is a 6th Dan version also which is much better than this one.

  • @jkeit1701 I believe the name of this form is "Wu Duan Quan." At least it looks a whole lot like it, very well done though. It's in the Chang Chuan System.

  • @gotz2bk What do you mean it's not long fist? It's obviously long fist.

  • @gotz2bk it IS long fist, there are many different types of long fist and is one of them. Its not the interntaional competition long fist, but its still long fist never the ness. 'Junior' long fist to be more correct, or 少年长拳

  • by the way isn't this video traditional and not wushu?

  • insaneshadowblade .. the yells that people do in wushu forms are a whole different type of form, focused on power.. and its traditional that they do scream.. people dont just add it in for fun..

  • A part of this form is in the movie "Fearless" with Jet Le.

  • Who is Jet Le? Did you mean Jet Li? If you meant Jet Li then you should have typed an i where the e was after the L. Just look at the monitor before you submit your comment.

  • Thank you storm trooper of language ...

  • Everyone, especially those of western decent, did you notice how there was no long winded screams? Take note of that and stop doing it at competitions. You think you look better or cool by doing that but you don't, you're just being loud.

  • 'western decent' What does that mean?

  • He/she meant "descent", of course.

  • American spelling?

  • its chi u have to let it out thats why you scream

  • I agree. Pity the students who yell, their Sifu makes them do it.

  • It's called a kiai and its very particular in styles of martial art like karate and not so much wushu. It's diaphramatical breathing and the noise adds as a war cry to psyche oneself up as well as intimidate an opponent.

  • wow!

ma friends knows how to do that but thats cool!
