Theres nothing wrong with gaining some weight or losing it. These guys basically live off perfect diets and balanced nutrition. then a relentless workout cycle making them tough as nails. personally, i choose to fight where my body's natural weight settles.
GSP is going to destroy Jake Shields. Probable worse than Koscheck. Shield only won his one UFC fight due to horrible judging. He got worked by Martin Kampmann. His Strikeforce win against Dan Henderson wasn't impressive either.

Silvas striking isnt technically great, Its flashing and hes extremly confident in it, But George has always better striker and after a year training with Freddie Roach and sparing With Manny Pacquiao (best hand in the world) He,s far better than he ever was !

I am not a big fan of GSP, but I have to admit he is one of the smartest fighters in mma. I don't think that he should be pressured to move to 185 to fight Silva if he doesn't really want to, but if he does, he should take the time to gain the size. And if he does, I think he can take Silva.

focus on the science of training/ fighting, he walks around @ 185 before fights and cuts for matches. he's over 6 feet tall with very broad shoulders, these aren't things you get from steroids. not a massive guy, he's very slim and lenky, so what would possess you to automatically rule out that he's a dirty fighter? UFC tests frequently for current substance abuse, regardless of past use obvious since they let lesnar in

He is extremely athletic and has nasty takedowns but has a long way to go if he wants to be best P4P. Anderson Silva is by far best P4P right now. Sounds like an excuse. He can easily move up and be an average size middleweight. He says he's a small 170? he's not at all and you cannot say that he is. He towers everyone he fights. He walks 190 probably at 6% body fat. He is in good enough shape to fight at that weight.

@HyenaKilledTheLion Almost all the fighters in the 185 division have low body fat %, and they almost all cut down from 200+, way over in some cases. GSP is an average sized welterweight, most of his opponents have been larger than him. He would be facing guys with frames 30-40 lbs. heavier. Most of the people he'd fight would have longer reach, be taller, probably hit harder...Silva should be moving up, if anyone, to LHW.
