I really like your video, but I think you should have included the part at the end of Golden Fool where Fitz gets stabbed (again, really Fitz?) and you should have included the part in Liveship Traders where the Fool carves paragon into fitzs shape because he told her to make him into something she could love.

This never fails to make me want to cry, smile and hug someone all at the same time. I like how the simple drawing style lets the viewer focus more on the amazing story you're telling. I love Robin Hobb's novels, and I love this too <3
Do you know there's one more book about Fitz and the Fool? Written by one of the fans BUT so very close to style of the original! AND it is published!!! it has brought peace to my soul that was just destroyed after that bitter ending. So touching just as this wonderful amazing vid... Very gentle and nothing slashy all about love

i hate robin hobb. i hate the fool. each time i finish one of the three trilogies of that story, i just.. feel so useless. It's the sadest story i ever read, and i can't stop reading it over and over again, not until i understand what it's actually about. This was....amazing! I love the Fool and I hope Fitz uses the Skill to prolong his life so they can be together after Molly dies. You forgot one great part though...when the Fool is leaving with Girl-on-a-Dragon, he kisses Fitz after hugging him!!! :)

I left that scene out for a reason - some people would be disturbed by it. What I did forget was the part where Nighteyes died. I think that Fitz paid too little attention to his death in the books and I feel bad for forgetting it too =(
@FaroresChosenOne Why exactly would you want that? There has to be a sad ending for some "good" characters otherwise the story becomes too "easy" if you see what I mean. Sometimes life sucks...

This is amazing. I really wish that Robin Hobb would write more books about the Fool. What happens to him after he walks into a future where he's blind, never to return again? Wouldn't it be amazing if he came back to Fitz when Fitz was an old man, and he was still as young as he had been?
@Freesibs Actually, what would be more interesting is if (for some reason) Fitz used the skill to prolong his life, Kettle/Kestrel did. Then he would outlive Molly, and the Fool could come back, since he always seems to around the major points in his life. They could even have Dutiful feature in it, seeing as if Fitz could do it so could Dutiful. And Nettle.
this was, simple put, awesome...the drawings and what they represented, the way it was put together, the backround track... a motion picture could not stand up to this.

as soon as i finished reading the 6 books, i nearly cried because i new that was the last of my favorite series to date... i especially like the part from Assassin's quest where fitz fell in the snow by jhampe and the fool came to hold him while both of them were being swallowed by the snow. you made it look so warm with the fool holding fitz . . . you definitely captures the fool's love for fitz in this video. once again . . .

Yeah, it took me almost half a year to make it. I thought the song might suit, there were so many good phrases in it which collocated with the books ;) Aww, but I really do believe that everyone is artistic in their own way!
Oh I'd definately reccomend reading them! They fit in the middle of the two other trilogies, and there are some amazing characters in there. (Fitz and the fool are still the best though!). The way she writes it, you are reading a whole load of different stories about different people, and then at the end they all tie up beautifully and leave you going 0_o. You learn alot about the dragons and wizardwood, and what the fool got up to in Bingtown.
I have heard a lot of good things about the Liveship trilogy. Thanks for recommending, I will certainly read them one day. In fact I'm quite curious about those books, especially because of the Fool, because he clearly is the most remarkable character in Robin Hobb's fiction. What do you think, is "he" a man or a woman?
I think he's a man, since in the Liveship trilogy Amber is only a disguise he uses when it suits him, just like he tells Fitz. But yes, the Fool is by far the most remarkable and amazing character, although i love Fitz as well.
Whats great about the way Robin Hobb writes about Amber is that there are all these little hints and clues you get to her being the fool. They just make you smile :D And you learn how much s/he really loves Fitz and misses him.
As far as the Tawny Man and Farseer trilogies are concerned, I believe he's a man too. The strongest argument is that before Fitz brought him back to life, he undressed him to clean his body. And he didn't make any comment on what he saw. Hence, the Fool must have been a man, just like Fitz believed, or he would have said something about it ;)
I'm going to the library tomorrow. To fetch "The ship of magic" =)
I think he is a man, but in appearance is more androgynous. I read the Liveship trilogy just to read about Amber after I found out Beloved posed as her in Golden Fool. Amber was one of the major characters, but on the periphery for most of the books.

as soon as i finished reading the 6 books, i nearly cried because i new that was the last of my favorite series to date... This video reminded me of how good the books were while i was reading them, and not the fact that they were finished. So i continue to read them for my second time. I begun again as soon as i finished, and I've started to love the characters more and more as i read it a second time. Thank you so much for putting this video up, it really made me feel better overall :)

i especially like the part from Assassin's quest where fitz fell in the snow by jhampe and the fool came to hold him while both of them were being swallowed by the snow. you made it look so warm with the fool holding fitz . . . you definitely captures the fool's love for fitz in this video. once again . . .

That nearly brought me to tears. Very nearly. I didn't cry throughout the books at all, but this... Was just like reliving it all anew, condensed and vivified.
There are no words to thank you enough for making it. I've no idea how much time went into this, but every single minute was worth it, rest assured.

You should do storyboarding...this is exceptional. You were able to catch the emotion from the books and convey it very well. The song choice was perfect...what an amazing find. I hope you make more fitz videos in the future.

But anyway, that was great! Must've taken you ages? I love that song too, one of my favourites, and it goes really well. I just wish I was good at art or something so I could show my appreciation of these books. :D

Yeah, it took me almost half a year to make it. I thought the song might suit, there were so many good phrases in it which collocated with the books ;) Aww, but I really do believe that everyone is artistic in their own way!

Oh I'd definately reccomend reading them! They fit in the middle of the two other trilogies, and there are some amazing characters in there. (Fitz and the fool are still the best though!). The way she writes it, you are reading a whole load of different stories about different people, and then at the end they all tie up beautifully and leave you going 0_o. You learn alot about the dragons and wizardwood, and what the fool got up to in Bingtown.
Go for it, you won't regret it! :3

I have heard a lot of good things about the Liveship trilogy. Thanks for recommending, I will certainly read them one day. In fact I'm quite curious about those books, especially because of the Fool, because he clearly is the most remarkable character in Robin Hobb's fiction. What do you think, is "he" a man or a woman?

I think he's a man, since in the Liveship trilogy Amber is only a disguise he uses when it suits him, just like he tells Fitz. But yes, the Fool is by far the most remarkable and amazing character, although i love Fitz as well.
Whats great about the way Robin Hobb writes about Amber is that there are all these little hints and clues you get to her being the fool. They just make you smile :D And you learn how much s/he really loves Fitz and misses him.

As far as the Tawny Man and Farseer trilogies are concerned, I believe he's a man too. The strongest argument is that before Fitz brought him back to life, he undressed him to clean his body. And he didn't make any comment on what he saw. Hence, the Fool must have been a man, just like Fitz believed, or he would have said something about it ;)

I think he is a man, but in appearance is more androgynous. I read the Liveship trilogy just to read about Amber after I found out Beloved posed as her in Golden Fool. Amber was one of the major characters, but on the periphery for most of the books.
