Newt Gingrich is THE man for the job, he has the best of each of the other candidates, without the weaknesses, and he is the best debated to defeat Obama, nobody can match his composure to shoot down any verbal attack, and he has a proven track record of how he voted. Herman Cain is a statement by the Reps. to show that they are not racist though everybody with half a brain knows they are racist to the hilt. The 9-9-9 plan is a great plan. A self-employed person making $100,000 a year currently has an effective tax rate of 35.7% (21.6% income tax and 14.1% FICA tax). That person's income tax rate is now reduced to 9% and they have some degree of control over how much of the 9% consumption tax they will pay. It's not even close.
The 9% Federal sales tax is only on newly produced products. If you buy a used car, or second hand clothes, you wouldn't pay the consumption tax. And really, is "9-9-9" really any dumber of a slogan than "Hope and Change"?

Look at the dollars poor and middle class Americans alone put into sales tax that runs America's states. All the states don't have deficits - just the ones that OVERSPEND!!!!!!! It doesn't help that then the Federal tax rates kill jobs , and take huge inheritance tax amounts from middle class/ rich -- it seems to Never Be Enough because the Fed can't get enough money to spend when they increase policy/ programs to fix so many problems that they have NO Business being in in the first place

to be fair, that's only one phase of his economic plan. He wants to implement the Fairtax in phase two, which would end the income tax and every other federal tax, except, of course, a national sales tax. A national sales tax is more preferable, in my opinion, than a federal income tax, although the rate should be lowered to 5-10% in my opinion
