  • cool clip thanks for sharing ..

  • where can i get these the ones on dino direct take 2 months apprental i want a 100mWblue

  • yay! lighting fireworks from a distance.

  • dealextreme has a new product: 1000 (yes thousand) mW blue laser for $150 incl. batteries + charger

ow wait..... DX doesnt ship lasers to US anymore

    sucks to be you, americans

  • @guidocreusen probs be around 200mw mate ,, if you think it will be 1 watt. your a fucking idiot

  • @DeeKaayHD yeah they're quite ifamous for their quality =P

  • can i use a bly-ray laser diode from dvd bly-ray burner and make this or something similar them???? How much power have a laser from bly-ray dvd burner????

  • I'm getting a 150mw laser in a few weeks

  • I cant wait until I make a 100mW violet!

  • Perfect demonstration!

  • To all the people here who say it cant burn your skin....

The wavelength of this vilolet light is around 405nm-450nm (around this area) Which means even a low power beam can get alot of energy into a spot were lets say a infrared laser wavelength is 808nm and has a very hard time burning your skin let alone paper cause it get energy to a point very slowly in comparison. Thats why all those red laser videos you guys are seeing arnt burning people... Yay for physics!

  • HEADSHOTT!!!!11111

  • is this allowed in the US

  • @theFIREboy1231 yes, i live in new york and i have one

  • for 95 dollars you can make a 1 WATT laser

  • 445nm lasers are the best

  • Focusing bitch

  • Can u just make one 4 me and I pay u

  • hey, do u have a twistie top one and just took it off, or just a regular laser

  • hey, nice laser, i have a Q, does ur laser have a twisti top, or one that just focuses?

  • I bought a blue laser diode that is supposedly rated at 150mW output power. I figured this would be more than enough to burn stuff. However, I have measured up to 300 mA of current being supplied to the diode and it has yet to even burn a hole through electrical tape. Can you upload a schematic of your circuit?

  • can a 100mW 405nm Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Pen from deal extreme burn a match

  • Yes if you re-focus the beam with an additional lens (from experience). This setup will pop (non-blackened) balloons in less than a second and cut lines in black plastic. ps. I just killed a clothes moth with mine !

  • Is there anyway to buy one of these (URL)? Maybe this or ATLEAST (but most perferably) a blue burning (120+) laser diode?

  • he made this, and just buy a 4x sled, it should give you 150mW @ the right ampage

  • @PikminFanJosh im pretty sure obama made high powered laser pointers illegal, so youll have to build one

  • I have a 600mw violet one for sell, check my last videos

  • could i see the beam on a 10mw violet laser pointer?

and could i pot mod it?

    thanks

  • Why didn't you use these "laser drivers" or can this be done without a driver? What happens if you just plug the diodes positive and negative pins to the battery's pins?

  • For this one I used a bulky homemade laser diode driver. You must have a driver to run these things because the drivers give the diode the right amount of current. Hooking a bare diode up to a battery will kill the laser diode almost instantly because the battery unloads all of its power into the diode, which causes the diode to fry.

  • yeah thanks. That helped a lot :) I already ordered a blue-ray diode and e driver for that earlier this day. I think it's easier to order lasers in pieces because of the customs :D (already lost one pointer for them few weeks ago) :)

  • how did u get the laser blue it is very difficult and all the blue laser are very expensive

  • This is amazing: you are one of the best DIY laser dudes I have seen. I WANT ONE!!!111oneoneone

  • Can somone tell me if i connect a blue ray diode with 2x AA batteries will it be ok then or will the diode blow up?

  • 2AAs directly would fry the diode, and it wouldn't even turn on. The diode needs 5v-6v for itself and you MUST regulate the current going into the diode or the diode will fry.

  • could that burn your hands

  • lol no.... Not even 450-500 mW would burn your hands

  • This laser easily burns my skin.

  • In healthcare they use 450mw lasers -.- and that doesnt burn the skin

  • Must be NIR/short IR then. NIR light just gets distributed through the flesh, 2000mW of NIR won't burn unless it is focused really small.

  • Okay.... What is Short IR then ???

  • It's violet, almost ultraviolet.

And I have burned myself with 250mw of red, though it is much easier to get burned by this.

The reason the medical laser did not burn is because it was not focused to a small point.

You can see how this works be focusing the sun with a magnifying glass, it will only burn things when the light is focused to as small a point as possible.

  • your a retard 75mw can sting tan skin after a few secends 125mw can easily sting skin...

500mw would give you bad burns on the skin

  • Your a retard the healthcare lasers arent focused and they are Short Ir, it gets distributed trough flash...

  • you didnt say that idiot.. all you said was 400-500mw cant even burn the skin

  • @XenTheKiller

    you're an idiot.

  • @mercanaries3 Or it's maybe you who don't know a shit about medical stuff.

  • @XenTheKiller

    nice channel fag

  • @XenTheKiller @XenTheKiller they came out with a 1w laser. call the spider iii. if you put it to your skin you could get skin canser.

  • Is a blue violet alot more powerful then a red or green laser?

  • Depends... They make 532nm lasers a lot more powerful than 405nm lasers. But at the same power, violets will burn colored things but not black things well, while greens will burn black but not color well. So, if you're comparing violet + colored objects vs. green + black objects, they're about the same. Personally, I'd recomend violet because people won't be as impressed if you're popping a balloon with a black spot on it. =P

  • Any class of matter that gives of violet radiation (purple colour) has higher energy then radiation from red to indigo. This is why Ultra Violet Radiation is on the right side of the visable light spectrum - not in the visable light spectrum (can't be seen)

-PS: Randomlugia has a point aswell =)

  • Very nice!!

  • God damn PHR-803t's rule. Igor's building me one of those bad boys 8)

Not to mention the crappy Sonar is 60mW and pulsed.... pffft

  • YO, don't mess with my name

  • thats sweet, i cant wait until the how to build it video!

  • Awesome

Did you use a Blu Ray Burner diode and if so where did you manage to get one so inexpensive?

    *****

  • I used a laser diode from an HD DVD player that was found to have freak diodes that can be pushed to over 100mW. There is a bunch of info on these in the link in the description.

  • What host are you using?

  • No host, just running it off a homebuilt circuit.

  • dude that is awsome
