On Fangoria Radio, they interviewed one of the makers of HHN, and he said they would do things to the people who bought the hotel packages, like have Bloody Mary call their room in the middle of the night, or have a scareactor waiting. So yeah. They really want you to feel like you can't escape. lol

They do not, though one year they did have a special HHN room at the Hard Rock Hotel that did have scareactors and other special effects, like a levitating bed and "blood" coming out of the shower.
