I think that what you're saying is on point, but I happen to know some Native AMERICANS that take offense to your use of the word INDIAN as the race. India is a country on the other side of the world. The country and even the continent they are on is America nor did Native's EVER refer to themselves as Indians before or after that (with the exception of you).

Well, to be honest, that's not why Thanksgiving is Thanksgiving. The true origin of the national holiday was just after the constitution was written and the bill of rights was implemented. Congress suggested to Washington to have a national holiday for "Thanksgiving to the lord" which he made the 26th of November. It became a tradition to have it on the last Thursday of November 'till Lincoln made it a national holiday. Not saying I disagree with your views on NA's in general.

I'm Native American; I cook turkey on thanksgiving and gather with my family. When I was younger I was ignorant and ask why we celebrate it and my gram's answer was. "We don't; we just eat. That's what we do just eat. We know what happened; we don't have to bring it up again."
