Deftones are the shit, and are on a completely different level than any of the bands they came up with like KoRn, Limp Bizkit etc. Deftones still on top and never gonna end. They rule cause as we the fans get older the band seems to evolve with that sense too. I got my first Deftones album in 96 and still a fan today, rarely listen to KoRn unless its this song. Why does it seem like most people are spending their time on this video arguing between Deftones or KoRn being a better band? Can't we all just agree both of them are fucking incredible? Sure newer KoRn may not live up to older KoRn but we still know what we fell in love with about them. And sure, Deftones may have put out an album or two (for me, it was their self-titled) that didn't do it for us, but they're still mind blowing. I LOVE KoRn, but I've never been a big fan of Deftones. TooL is another "founding father." And I refuse to give Limp Bizkit credit for anything. Korn & Deftones are most definitely Nu Metal; the reason I personally think this particular distinction is important is that this genre is the most different from any other sub genre in the "metal" world; Nu Metal compositionally and stylistically has more in common with grunge/alternative rock than it does with heavy metal or thrash.

Deftones stopped hanging out with Korn after Life is Peachy because that is when Korn became every teenager's angsty band that ripped two downtuned power chords over and over.

And starting with White Pony, they showed their shoegaze and post-punk influences and now are above genre-labels.
