Grackles are mean. They throw other baby birds out of the nest. They are easy to scare. Just slap boards together, sounds like a gun shot. Do it several times a day and they will leave. I don't let them in my yard. The robins, cardinals, wrens, cat birds, and orioles love my yard because they know they are safe here. The grackles arrive early. By the time the others show up, I already have scared off the black devil birds. Once in awhile I have to shoot a persistent one that robs nests.

Yep that was quite a crew of blackbirds out there. I love that Katie jumps up at the end and scares them all away. :D
