He is superficial and obviously he never visited any East European country during the Cold War. He doesn't understand the difference between a tractor manufactured by a state-owned undertaking (then Zetor) and the ones manufactured by private companies (e.g. John Deere). @ukipwebmaster Certainly a Volkswagen, though in Eastern Europe this would depend on a number of different considerations (availability of spare sparts, availability of skilled workshops for a given make - so that a Skoda might have been the best choice).
I watched some videos of this guy and he reminds me of a Dutch political party... the SP.. Always complaining, but I would like to see this guy in a gouvernment when he has to defend... it's easy to complain, but to choose from a or b which both have downsides is a difficult position... especialy when there are guys like this in the Parliament!
This sends a shiver down my spine considering this was from January 2009: and here we are in June 2011 everything he has said has come true. Truly terrifying stuff.
I wonder who will help us Dutch when we run out of money ourselves? That little man on the moon??? We were never asked if we wanted the Euro and we were lied and cheated into the Lisbon Treaty after a referendum where 65% of the Dutch said no against the EU Constitution. This totalitarian EU will fall one day if we, the people, unite and stand up against our oppressors.

If UKIP were to state that they would have a referendum on an English parliament being reinstated, then they would get a lot of the English nationalist vote. The hope is that Britain will be the first nation to strike the bureaucratic bulky vessel with a torpedo labelled FREEDOM. This is now the only strong country in Europe where there seems to exist any chance of organised and efficient opposition against new paneuropean dictatorship. I've tested 23 years of communism on my skin. The way the Eurocrats speak is, yes - REMINISCENT of old times. Mr. Farage is absolutely right here.
@DoverFerry It's not socialist. It's neo-liberal and corporatist. Socialism mainly is a set of values, where equality is the foremost. It's sad the former left has turned neo-liberal.

@facejapan If you paid attention, and either listened to anything stated by representatives of UKIP or read just a little bit of the information on their website, you would realise they are essentially a libertarian party. The entire point of their existence is freedom to choose.

Please visit the UKIP website, look towards the right and you'll see Make A Donation. Please donate whatever you can afford, no matter how little or how big. By donating.. you are doing your bit too.
The creation of the EU was wrought with peril. Not since the Roman empire has Europe been so economically homogenized into a single system and currency. Of course, leaving itself open to possible revolts and seiges similar to Alaric's march on Rome. Stymied by inept governance, high debt and interest rates, Alaric march the Goths to the gates of Rome. Well, let's hope we learned something since. Good luck Europe.
PS: I know you will approove this message to "proove" you dont block people. But fact stays we cant know how many other people you disaprooved because of being pro-EU. Shame on you.
You say parliament is weak, eu is making decisions in shadow, full of bureaucracy and cant leave the EU.
So was born Lisbon treaty reducing number of bureaucratic politicians, strenghtening parliament, enabling countries to leave EU and ordering council to act on public. And you still moan. Do you have some dignity? Or just scared that eurosceptic would turn pro-european or neutral after lisbon ?
Was there not something in about reducing or removing powers of vetoe. Would it not have been more democratic to have something in allowing a citizens by having a signed petition to have laws debated or created or removed like Switzerland. What about an election by citizens to members of the council? What about removing of all perks and allowances and allowing citizens to decide on what is appropriate?
I understood that he's not advocating, I'm not from the BNP. I'm just gaping at the terms and language being used in Brussels, and we hear nothing of it on the news but you can see (if one has a political eye, as it were) that there is a serious political crisis brewing.
Farage is the only British politician speaking sense at the moment, if this recession gets any worse then I think things will spill over into violence and Europe will be powerless to reverse it due to it being too big and bureaucratic. With the economic crisis and political turmoil we are possibly witnessing the simultaneous collapse of the American and European empires.
And the rise of Asian empires (China and India are growing quite fast from what i've heard). This is quite possibly, the most sensible comment i've ever read on youtube. So you can have my little congratulations.
I never realized it before. The ability that we have in the US (slashing or raising interest rates) is not available to any one country in Europe. European countries sometimes go through economic slowdowns that aren't as severe as their neighbors. If the Europeans lowered interest rates for only Greece, then Italy will also suffer from the inflation along with Greece.
The EU bureaucrats (and US politicians for that matter) think that "they" can direct and control an incredibly complex system by forcing it to perform unnaturally. But the old law of Supply and Demand still works. How does printing trillions of phony money "help" any economy in the long run? The world is not Monopoly.
Lowering interest rates does work to stimulate economic growth. Ronald Reagan proved that in the eighties. This guy was talking about letting individual countries decide their own interest rate, so that they can cater to their own specific economic problems.
Lower interest rates helps if there is sufficient available capital for it to be worthwhile lending at such lowered rates. These rate cuts are far too little, far too late - as usual.
MEP Farage is a danger as other citizens who also half understand what is going on may like his demagogic stories. Central banks need wisdom, not demagogic political meddling. Remember mortgage rates of 14%, or the controls on currency movements, Nigel? You would just make a Zimbabwe out of the UK.
The problem is that nobody knows what the problem is and therefore nobody knows how to fix it, whatever it may be. To fix this problem we have to first try and find out what the problem is, and then spend money on fixing it, not the other way around like governments are doing now.
We desperately need men like him here in the US. Our politicians have their heads firmly implanted up their asses especially when it comes to the economy. The meltdown Nigel was talking about WILL HAPPEN if the political class isn't overthrown somehow. I think it's refreshingly honest of him to acknowledge that that overthrow may very well be violent. I believe it will also be global. Something's gotta give.
I am a Polish guy living in the UK, so I am not sure if I have got a right to be proud of this guy? (you know.. he is an englis in very obvious way...) Anyway - I am proud. And I certainly will vote for him in the next election.
Looks like this guy royally made a fool of himself: with the economic crisis, the british pound has completely fallen down compared to the euro, which has prevented continental Europe from crashing as much as the UK or the other countries who rejected the Euro at first (and now show signs of wanting to join, to save their economies)
Yhee because the economies all around the world are sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better! OH NO the big bad €, what should we do, RUN!! Haha EU-sceptic propaganda in action. At least I get a laugh or two when I see Nigel;), he just tries too much. Like a bad actor high on, eh, TEA.
This man should be Prime Minister of the UK. That's a perfect statement: the EU is about a political class imposing its will on the peoples of Europe.
He is superficial and obviously he never visited any East European country during the Cold War. He doesn't understand the difference between a tractor manufactured by a state-owned undertaking (then Zetor) and the ones manufactured by private companies (e.g. John Deere). The EU bureaucrats (and US politicians for that matter) think that "they" can direct and control an incredibly complex system by forcing it to perform unnaturally. But the old law of Supply and Demand still works. How does printing trillions of phony money "help" any economy in the long run? The world is not Monopoly.

Well said, I think you and I should run the EU.

Just be patient, you've got your wish. Your comment is below and now the whole world knows how stupid you are.

So New Labour's plan to print money is not at all like Mugabe's policy?
ukipwebmaster 3 years ago
his statement is the opposite of what I heard on the news last week,
1999 --> 1.60€ = 1P
2009 --> 1€ = 1P
wich means either the euro is doing well or the pound is doing even worse.
boertush 3 years ago 2
he's talking about how countries confined within the euro can't accept the same prime rate the central banks set for ALL the countries.

Ok so could anyone explain in simple terms and short, what is the problem and how to solve it?
MistaJussu 3 years ago
The problem is that nobody knows what the problem is and therefore nobody knows how to fix it, whatever it may be. To fix this problem we have to first try and find out what the problem is, and then spend money on fixing it, not the other way around like governments are doing now.

So good to hear the truth form time to time ...an absolute Master orator. Good on you Nigel!

You had a chance with Ron Paul but your fellow americans were too stupid to understand his concerns.

Being from America I wasn't aware of this guy, He reminds me a little of Ron Paul! Awesome!

We have a lot of people like him but we don't have propaganda like fox news and our country has freedom of speech.
smudge6699 3 years ago
We have state propaganda from the BBC which has become the media arm of New Labour.
ukipwebmaster 3 years ago
Quite true but it's a question of scale.
I'm sure the BBC would find any way to foil new Labour's plans given the hammering they took in the Dodgy dossiers Hutton inquiry scandal.
But it is worth remembering they might be as you describe.
I take nothing on face value.
Thanks.

I'm beggining to think the BBC, is run by anti semites.

I am a Polish guy living in the UK, so I am not sure if I have got a right to be proud of this guy? (you know.. he is an englis in very obvious way...) Anyway - I am proud. And I certainly will vote for him in the next election.
arienrode 3 years ago
Looks like this guy royally made a fool of himself: with the economic crisis, the british pound has completely fallen down compared to the euro, which has prevented continental Europe from crashing as much as the UK or the other countries who rejected the Euro at first (and now show signs of wanting to join, to save their economies)
vary3z3 3 years ago
Yhee because the economies all around the world are sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better! OH NO the big bad €, what should we do, RUN!! Haha EU-sceptic propaganda in action. At least I get a laugh or two when I see Nigel;), he just tries too much. Like a bad actor high on, eh, TEA.

This man should be Prime Minister of the UK. That's a perfect statement: the EU is about a political class imposing its will on the peoples of Europe.
