I can understand the eleven vessels (talismans other than dog) being destroyed as they're simply concrete holders of a certain power. But think for a moment, how does the dog talisman (holder of immortality) get destroyed, when its power is to never be destroyed? I sense an issue that the scriptwriters ignored. >_>

@Chrisjh0223 Because the powers only work when they're activated. And like Uncle said, the magic itself isn't destoryed, only the vessel. But the reason Scruffy can't be destroyed is because he would consiously activate the immortality power when he's in danger.

a lot of vault doors don't have alarms that go off if you drill into them to pick the lock.

actually security on doors is rather small.

usually there are motion detectors right on the inside to detect the threshold being crossed. which is why it's still strange not to have an alarm go off.
