Yeah, nice one, Ann. He says he wants a "sweetheart", and you go and tell him you have a candy heart...Oh, no, I'm sure he won't mistake that for his metaphor.. -_-*
Woah, I haven't seen this since preschool. I knew I saw it somewhere, but since I was so little, I thought the blob was made of cheese! lol ^_^0 Now that I see it as an adult, it kinda creeps me out...It's preety cool tho. ^^;
Third verse: Great Mighty Poo: Now I'm really getting rather mad. You're like a niggly tiggly shitty little tag-nut. When I knock you out with all my bab, I'm going to take your head and ram it up my butt! Conker: Your butt? Great Mighty Poo: My butt! Conker: Your butt?! Great Mighty Poo: That's right, my butt! Conker: Eww …! Great Mighty Poo: My butt! Conker: Agh! Great Mighty Poo: My Buuuuuuuuutt!
you know? i always wondered what this thing was supposed to be in real life--somone drop some candy in a hole and it got rained on? but if that was the case how could....id better stop thinking about it lol
The greedy was a powerful demon, who's bloodlust and sadistic tendancies knew no bounds. But one day, a brave witch/wizard sealed him within the taffy pit, until he could learn to love, and thus, learn the value of life.
To me the Greedy always seemed like someone who was a glutton, or someone who valued materials above love and this was his punishment: to eat very rich and sweet food and never be able to feel full except if someone loved him and since he is basically stuck in a taffy pit and a horrible monster he'll never be complete.
@Suaviterinmodo and it's emery hawkins and thus badass, as badass as a self c*nnibalizing semi-vomit candy tr*nny h*ntai thing who wants to eat doll's internal organs can possibly be XD
@Suaviterinmodo as a person who saw this as a kid, it may have been a pain to animate, but it was well worth it! Thank you for helping to produce the whole film, and espicially kudos for how the camel was handled!
@Suaviterinmodo Wait, you did the animation? Or just this scene? If you did, you did a great job on the Greedy's facial shifts! Round nosed, then pig nosed, then so forth!
If you think of the logic of children's cartoons, the greedy is a lession in sharing gone horribly wrong. Whoever told the greedy he needed a sweet heart, of course ment that he needed someone to share what he has with, someone that he could feel good doing nice things for, but the greedy misinterpreted "sweet heart" as meaning literally a heart that's sweet. It's nice that this wasn't horriby preachy like most sharing lessions, on the other hand the message gets a bit lost in the oddness.
Seemed pretty straightforward to me even as a kid that The Greedy's eating to fill the EMOTIONAL void in his life instead of being a literal heart-eater, but that doesn't make this scene any less pure, unbridled WTF
I think that's because it wasn't exactly graphic enough for anything higher. Like, there wasn't any blood or course language, so it wouldn't have gotten anything higher than G.
Holy shit! I remember this when i was about 7...i couldn't remember what the show was but i always remembered The Greedy...That brought me back a long long time ago
Despite the fact that this scene will probably disturb me horribly for the rest of my life, you have to admit the animation is pretty good. Besides the good animation in this movie... ITS THE STUFF NIGHTMARES ARE MADE OF
Suddenly, a resounding thud rocked the chamber, sending violent ripples through the Greedy's liquid form. Standing at one end of the cavernous room, stepping deliberately through the debris and smoke, was a steely-featured Wilford Brimley.
His eyes narrowed to rage-filled slits as he leveled his grenade launcher, and muttered, "Di-ah-beetus ...."
Suddenly, the cavern was rocked by an explosion that blew a hole in the Greedy's chamber. Striding through the smoke and debris was a steely-featured Wilford Brimley. Leveling his grenade launcher, his eyes narrowed to rage-filled slits as he muttered "Di-ah-beetus ...."
This specific cartoon has haunted me for the past 18 years! TO THIS DAY, I remeber that fat yellow blob trying to get Raggedy Ann! I had always thought it had been a nightmare, and it has ALWAYS bothered me! I finally have closure. -haha!
Freaky shit..I forgot how horrifying some of the stuff this movie had in it was. From those twin dolls to this...x__X; What the hell were the animators on?!
why do they give him boxers pants at the beginning of the song and then at 3:45 the give him a peanut shell for a bra? does he like to cross dress or what? lol
I remember watching this as a child. We had this recorded on a betamax tape.
It absolutely -horrified me-.
Watching this today reminded me how utterly terrified I was of that tape. THAT TAPE MADE ME AFRAID OF RAG DOLLS AND BETAMAX TAPES. I am dead serious. To this day just thinking about betamax gives me this really eerie, vaguely panicked feeling. Like my mind is telling me "that there, is the portal to hell".
Because god knows, when I was a child, it definitely was.
Shouldn't he be called "the Gluttony"?

God, I wish I could have been around when these cartoons were around.
Me being 14, I reduced to the crap they put on Disney Channel, and Nickeloden.
It's just really nice to come on youtube, and find out what my parents were watching back then, and also compare it to the shows now.
