  • In South Florida you can get your EMT-B in 4 months and your Paramedic cert. in 10 months.

  • Can you be full-time if you are an EMT-B

  • Thank you for sharing with the world this glimpse into your life as a student EMT. All the very best to you and your cohorts.

  • i live in ny and in becoming a paramedic and in white so what. im in bouro of manhattin collage and its a very good collage.

  • How can it be offensive when black people can use it all the time? I understand the lack of professionalism, but seriously, don't you think it kind of lost it's meaning when it's used every day on BET and MTV?

  • congrants good job everyon. u guys would be awesome paramedics and save lots of lives and deliver babys. im going 4 the samething ur doing

  • congrants to all of you, nice class, just keep going and be a good Paramedics.

  • Hi, i am a european/danish EMT, what does it take to become a EMT in USA? what colleges offer the course? Time?

  • I am taking this course in high school now as a senior. There are, however, colleges that offer the course. For example, here in New York City, John Jay has a course that allows you to become an EMT/Paramedic. Depending on the classes, the course could take 3-4 years.

  • @ghettognome90 my emt class is 2 months long and the paramedic class is 10 months long and the fire is 5 months, but their all 2 year degrees

  • Depending on the state the classes are different. In Pa you can take emt in 8 months part time.

  • You can become an EMT-Basic in as little as 4 months. Though to become a Paramedic, it usually takes about 12 months. You can get an EMT rather it be a Basic or a Paramedic at most colleges. This is usually done, with Part-time schedules in mind, making it one of the most accessible health careers to get into.

  • 12 months my ass, try 2 years. Well atleast thats how long it took me. Your internships take a while. EMT school is a joke by comparison. -Medic

  • 100% average is about 2 years...and imagine if u fail.. have to wait till next test..which would probably be in like 5-6 months

  • @JohnJohnsson My EMT basic to paramedic would take around 2 years to get

  • YOU THINK EMT IS A GOOD JOB

  • Are you asking me or are you being sarcastic?? I cant tell. If you're asking then yes i think its a great job.

  • Yo im the ONLY BLACK EMT STUDENT OUT OF EVERY CAMPUS IN SOUTH WEST FLORIDA! Most of this class is so racially diverse! Dang man I wish I was in that class. I get scrutinized ALOT.

  • wow that really sucks...our school is mostly Balck n hispanic...our emt class is mostly hispanic theres only one or two balack kids. some of the darker kids are Honduran

  • You dont even kno kid. On my second ride time The EMT I was paired with used the "N" word talking to the medic while I was RIGHT BEHIND HIM! I was bout ready to loose it! They're so used to talkin like there are no black people around its sad

  • He "acted" like he was sorry so he wouldnt lose his job but the medic had to right him up. And now the county is doing an investigation, and its all blown up! Might even have to go to court because of a single racist comment.

  • that is sooo messed up. But sadly it is tru. In NY they use the "N" word all the time to them its nuttin i think its offensive cuz ppl dont kno wat it really means. I sayin this n im Puerto Rican

  • you et thazt right, I don't see people interst to see black male or famile in this field. I strongly saw nobody like to see black in this field, believe me

  • Your class looks a lot more organized than mine was. We didnt have uniforms or anything, just showed up for a few hours haha.

  • haha....it took alotta work to get those uniforms to work out. our teacher refused to give up on us
