  • Does anyone know how James feels about the remakes? I liked the first remake. The sequel was eh.

  • @Cardandvidyagaems he has a top 10 remakes but its not on his youtube channel

  • @scarecrowskardagain Awesome! I found it on his website. Thanks a lot for letting me know! :D

  • Michael Myer's mask is one of the scarriest things to come out of the slasher genre. It's so creepy and blamk looking, and it always just seems to materialize out of nowhere when Myers steps out of the shadows.

  • "Raped into a franchise."

THAAANK YOU. Also, Halloween 3 was awesome, fuck the naysayers.

  • No, Freddy Owns all!!!

In HalloweeN Count how many times the word "totaly" is used by that blonde bitch.

  • I would have to disagree in a way because Rob Zombie is actually a fan of the original and wanted to make Michael scary again because of what the franchise did to him. Zombie's movie were a re-imagining while the sequal were just shit ways to make more money.

  • Yeah, I always thought that was incredibly stupid how people said that third movie "sucked" only because "That psycho guy wasn't even in it!!!!". Geeez, I wasn't THAT fuckin crazy about Micheal Meyers that I needed for him to come back after being incinerated in a fuckin fire!!!

  • @Skulldini

Thats like if they killed off Jason Voorhees in the second film and make a TV Sho- Oh wait they did.....AND IT SUCKED!

  • Comment removed

  • Michael Myers was in Halloween 3 am I the only person to see him on that TV hey he's sorta in it

  • @UndeadSniper71

I wonder what the response was like in the theaters when that happened:

OMG IT'S MICHEAL MYERS- oh wait it's just on TV........FUCK THIS MOVIE!

  • wtf you people can't spell.

  • you don'tknow hwo many houseshave the halloween theme outside their house

  • 1:39 scarey. 2:30 good. Well one James.

  • my favorite move of all time

  • i hae all the sequwls imo theres only the origional

  • Halloween is one of my all time favorite movies. I love it because it's a simple horror that relies on suspense and chills rather than gore and cheap scares. The music is also kick ass. I never gave a crap about the sequels (although 3 & 4 I actually liked). It's like Jaws, it should only have been a stand alone movie. This film alomg with Escape from New York, The Thing, & Big Trouble in Little China (My all time Fav film) are the reasons John Carpenter is my favorite director.

  • No top comment? Now's my time to shine!

I believe Halloween is one of teh greatest horrors ever. It was low budget, and still, amazing. It throws away gore, and sex. It's all suspense. The ending... Is simply indescribable. Its amazing.

If you haven't seen it, watch it.

  • @wwkybobo Your goddamn right brother. Halloween is right up there with Night of the Living Dead and Frankenstein. I love Halloween and John Carpenter is always the best!!!

  • "Raped into a franchise" Perfect choice of words

  • I wonder how they choose the people they kill. Like why does jason kill everyone except for the the people we hate. Instead he kills main stars of a random movie. Kill justin bieber will ya?

  • I always wonder how they choose the people they do. Is there a vote?

  • Michael Myers>Jason

  • @lunatiksAlterEgo =jason gets his ass owned

  • @lunatiksAlterEgo Jason owns all.

  • you know,it's funny how james used his recording from his top 10 sequels that aren't as bad as everybody says they are,yet he reviewed king kong like 3 times!

  • i've always likes son of michal more, he just seemed to have more emotion with the mask on.

  • Best Horror Movie Ever :D

  • all time fav movie!

  • favorite film right here :D

  • Trick or treat....mutha fucker!

  • I don't consider Halloween as the Greatest Slasher Flick ever, sure it's a great film, but as far as Slashers go I'd prefer Friday the 13th ('80) & Black Christmas ('74) over Halloween any day of the week.

  • @TheMidniteVapour To be fair though, Friday the 13th was made to cash in on the success of Halloween

  • @SpiderKing389 Yes it was, but I hate when some say that F13th (1980) is a Halloween rip off, t has no similarities to Halloween, now if you want to say that Jason Voorhees was a Michael Myers rip off, from Part 2 onwards, then I would kinda agree......and when you come to think of it, a hell of a lot of Slasher films back then were cashing in on Halloween's success. Same with Star Trek & Alien cashing in on Star Wars success.

  • @TheMidniteVapour I understand, I wasn't trying to say FT13th was a rip-off because like you said it has no similarities, but I wouldn't say that Alien was made to try and cash in on the success of Star Wars

  • @SpiderKing389 The success of Star Wars allowed for Alien to have an 8 million dollar budget, if Star Wars was a failure, the Alien would probably have been a cheap grindhouse flick, even Dan O' Bannon said, if it wasn't for Star Wars he would never had written Alien.

  • @TheMidniteVapour Ah, I stand corrected haha

  • @TheMidniteVapour Actually I will only disagree with you that Star Trek took in the success of Star Wars, Star Trek was a TV series that started in '66 while the movie series of Star Wars was in '77. You can say the movie series of Star Trek was only made because of the enforced popularity of the movie series of Star Wars. I don't think you can really say space films were inspired by Star Wars, for Star Wars created the entire concept of Light Weapons (Light sabers) but inspired by H.G. Wells

  • @TuWear Before Star Wars, Sci Fi was almost dead in the 70's, sure there were cheapies like Logan's Run & a few others, Star Wars made it possible for Sci Fi to be A movies instead of B movies, Star Wars inspired & influenced many filmakers. Star Trek even as a TV show was very B - TV show, Star Wars changed the way SCi Fi films were made, and that's a fact LOL!

  • @TheMidniteVapour

Star wars and Halloween are on Opposite ends of the Spectrim, Star Wars had a bigger budget but everyone thought it would tank, but instead became a smash hit, spawing numerous imitations. Halloween had a lower budget and was also thought that it would tank but was a big hit and also spawned numerous imitations the big ones being Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street

  • @snakes3425 I wouldn't call Nightmare on elm street a ripoff..

  • @AliceNchainz011

I never said rip-off, Halloween helped inspire the Nightmare and Friday Movies

  • @snakes3425 Oh, i saw the word "imitation" and immediately thought ripoff. Sorry

  • @snakes3425 Like the reviewer here even mentioned, this flick itself didn't actualy originate the masked slasher psycho movie ( like many do think ) it only popularized it with the mainstream. There were actualy a number of older movies that had that same basic formular, to name a few 'The Town That Dreaded Sundown, Alice Sweet Alice, Blood and Black Lace, and Torso. Of course, none of THOSE flicks were the comercial blockbuster that THIS one was ( they're all on DVD and video today though ).

  • hm,a video that mentions nothing about justin bieber with no thumbs up......i hate justin bieber!

  • I love the original, I saw it on AMC last month and I love the movie, cause it has no blood. the remake was ok.

  • Halloween is one of my all time favorite films ever. I loved the fact that it didn't have any gore nor any motive behind the killings. It makes Michael much more scarier. I never gave a shit about the sequels because they explain too much. This film along with Escape from New York, The Thing and Big Trouble in Little China are some of my all time favorites and the reasons why I love John Carpenter.

  • whats up with the masks in halloween 3? cause i still don't get it

  • Comment removed

  • halloween is sucha masterpiece. it's kinda sad tho tht since it invented several slasher genre cliches and spawned so many sequels, halloween in itself has become a cliche. but i'm thinking to fuckin deep, this movies great

  • Does James ever do a review of Halloween III: Season of The Witch?

  • @BearInfestedWaters yes he did. Search it here on youtube.

  • @BearInfestedWaters He did a Top 10 list on sequels that aren't as bad as everyone says, Halloween III is on there and he gives it a good review.

  • thumbs up if you think the 2009 remake of Halloween II sucks

  • @starball23 it was alright. It's a good reboot if you disregard the original. I try to see it as a different movie.

  • 1:00 This statement. No one in the mainstream film business understands that that's what makes a movie of this caliber.

I saw this in the 90s as a child and I thought is was chilling. Network TV would show a lot of good horror film series during that time: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Firday the 13th, Halloween, Alien, Critters, Hellraiser...

    Now? Good luck...

  • @VanTX89 the whole month of october cinemax showed a shitload of horror movies including all of the title you said. It was a great month for me XD

  • @avenge111 Times like this make me wish I had cable. (I know, shocking, right?)

  • Halloween was the first horror film i watched when i was 8 soon after i started to watch the halloween sequels and then watched the friday the 13th films the nightmare on elm street films the Texas chainsaw massacre and then started watching zombie films like dawn of the dead day of the dead and night of the living dead

  • I just watched that today! Halloween is the best horror movie I've ever seen! and Micheal Myers is unpredictible!

  • man Jamie Lee Curtis is a babe!!

  • I like that. "Raped into a franchise."

  • When I first saw this movie I was shocked to say that they already unmasked Michael. I thought that wouldnt happen until like the 5th movie

  • the movie has no gore in it and it's rated R. I've not seen it but that R rating proves that John Carpenter has some serious balls

  • @KelanDWood Exactly why it shouldve been at least rated PG or PG-13.

  • @kevin72013 I think it's a problem with the reatings system. In England The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was band from it's time in theatres up through 2001 when it was restored. Ok sure there's a decomposed body in it and there's a pit of cheap-looking blood(even for the time) that flys onto the camera so yeah a 12 or 15 rating(im going by english ratings because im talking about an english release) but not banned. The MPAA is even worse. The King's Speech is R? Really? Really?

  • I personally didn't love or hate the remake. I think it's inferior to the original in many, many ways, but it does have some things going for it. Malcom McDowel is perfect for the role of Dr. Loomis, and I like how they gave Micheal a background that gives a deeper look into why he's so twisted without making him too sympathetic at the same time. Still, the actress playing Laurie wasn't as memorable as Curtis, and overall it relied too much on gore rather than good ol' suspense.

  • William Shatner can be scary if he wanted to apparently.

  • Lol you uploaded this on Michael myers birthday funny thing is me and him share the same birthday

  • honestly i hated halloween 3.not because it didnt have michael myers but the story sucked.they steal an easter island head and puts its magic in masks to kill kids when the jingle come on tv????

  • Love this movie,

but my favourite horror "creature" is Jason.

(No boring talks, no fucking around,

    just slashing around)

  • Thank you James, Halloween 3 was awesome.

  • James - review Scream!

  • @TheSecretGameRoom he did already

  • @JohnDoe2089 Awesome!

  • this is my birthday.ironic i got this movie?

  • Dr. Loomis is so badass in Halloween 1 & 2.

  • 0:53 - 1:04 Not 'me.'

  • @halomad1 hey i got the suspiria theme on mine. so i know what you mean :)

  • Interesting fact for ya, Donald Pleasance played Blowfelt in the james Bond films, and MIKE Myers parodies Blowfelt in Austin Powers as Dr. Evil. MINDFUCK!

  • @TheProducerPeople He only played Blofeld in one film.

  • what are you talking about part 2 wasnt that bad ya part 1 was better but part 2 was good

  • Even part 2 sucked. It's 1 or nothing!

  • ONE OF THE BEST!

  • Rob Zombie ruined Halloween

  • @GHmonsta302

    Says you.

  • @CowardStern 1 first of all he picked the wrong girl to play the victim shes to damn depressed and second Michael Myers doesn't grunt when he kills people.

  • @GHmonsta302

..... You are the most self-entitled douchebag on the face of the earth, go fuck yourself dude, it's HIS revision of the series Duuur.

  • @CowardStern yeah and HIS version sucks

  • HIGH TECH, LOW LIFE

  • I'm not a big horror movie fan, but the first Halloween is just an awesome movie with the best used soundtrack ever in a movie.

  • Why didn't people figure out that Michael Myers was just blown the shit out of in Halloween 2?

  • the l theme from death note sounds like his theme

  • i like 4 and 5

  • @dave00dance amen

  • @dave00dance How crazy do you have to be to have liked halloween 5. That movie was an insult to the entire fanchises and movies as a whole.

  • @Horrordude365 well i wouldnt go as as far to say im crazy i just took it as cheesy fun 90s horror yes it doesn't hold a candle to the original but i enjoyed 4 and 5 much more than h20 and halloween 6

  • The remake of Halloween, I actually liked better then the original, for those who hate the remake, thats just you, people can have their own seperate opinions, if you go to argue with me then your just proving your point with me on how people think just because someone likes something that you hate/don't like they have to be corrected or proved wrong on how bad that thing they like is.

  • The theme of this movie is the most amazing Horror theme iv'e ever heard.

  • my most fav horror moment ever 1:44 the way he slowly gets up and looks is epic

  • Halloween was always one of the few horror movies to truly scare me.

  • call me crazy but would not the music from this movie make a great ringtone?

  • i loved this film one and two. three had me saying WTF? 4 and 5 and 6. i agree with some of the commentors they should have stopped at Halloween 2. because the other are so badly done and the killing scenes are so predictable

  • @shannoncleveland same here

  • The 3rd movie was so gross, horror movies don't really bother me unless in the movie little kids are killed

  • Halloween 3 rules!!!! Still love the Micheal series but this one was special, for me anyways :)

  • I can play it on my acoustic

  • You should review My Bloody Valentine

  • Best Horror Movie Of All Time!!

  • Was there no blood in the originnal??

  • Its funny John Carpenter stated that he owes most of the success of Halloween to William Shatner.

  • michael myers FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LegoKing345 He already did in the top 10 movie sequels that were not as bad... or something like that.

  • @luismiH20 top 10 movie sequels that aren't as bad as everyone says.

  • The theme seriously gives me chills... :S

  • For luck: Shining trivia. Because Danny Lloyd was so young and since it was his first acting job, Stanley Kubrick was highly protective of the child. During the shooting of the movie, Lloyd was under the impression that the film he was making was a drama, not a horror movie. He only realized the truth seven years later, when, aged 13, he was shown a heavily edited version of the film. He didn't see the uncut version of the film until he was 17 - eleven years after he'd made it.

  • I thought the ending to the first one was great. I would have left it at that. It's a much more disturbing ending to me.

  • didnt they show michaels face in the first movie?

  • @shannoncleveland Yes :)

  • @MrSmexiiPanda621

Hey man, greetings from the U.S. of A.! That's too bad, but you might be able to find it somewhere on the web.

  • is michael myers the character played by mike myers the actor. i just want to know because i never seem to get a strate answer

  • @lenrat117 NO. LMFAO.

  • @AceProductions91 glad you cleared that up for me ;)

  • hide yo kids and hide yo wives cause' micheal myers is rapin everyone out there!

  • my friend can play the theme song on piano

  • @halomad1 on my phone i have the jaws jurrasic park halloween scott pilgrim vs the world beverly hills cop first blood and first blood part 2 on mmy phone call me sad i dont care

  • and this movie is why John Carpenter will always be THE MASTER.

  • i love the halloween series but when i saw halloween 3 i was litteraly just waiting for michael but it was still an awesome movie!

  • anyone ready for the remake of halloween 3 ? next year

  • halloween wasnt even released here in sweden :(

  • Rented this movie the other night. It was pretty good, but I didn't really see what was so special about it.

  • Comment removed

  • @multibuddhaneo Nope, I just sat in front of my TV thinking "Meh...this is okay". I'm not saying it sucks, but it didn't do anything for me. No need to jump on my balls for not treating this movie like a sacred cow.

  • love the movie but can't find a copy :(

  • halloween 3, in my opinion is the best in the whole series, or atleast equal to the original! i love it.

  • 1978 was a good year for horror fans.

  • oh yes endless slasher genre, with monster killer, and killing them off one by one. it's monster horror

and it's as well losely inspired by agatha's "and then there's none" stories. I believe

  • they should get rid of 2,4,5,6,7,8,and start a new one like halloween 3 a different story every time

  • Poor michael... he's jus misunderstood, nobody understands his kock ass hardcore art of killing everybody.

  • If they called it "Season of the Witch" then maybe it would have gotten more respect.

  • Sorry guys, but this movie sucks! It's just a big chunk of nothing that anyone can make. It doesn't please the hardcore gore fans, nor is it pleasing to people who like quality horror movies with a good story. If you want to know why I hate this movie so much, check out my review right on my channel.

  • @mattthedemocrat1 but he just made it perfectly clear why this movie is a classic, it uses atmosphere and suspense to scare us not loads of gore and things that make you jump simply because there loud, its a great movie and im not trying to just hop on the band wagon i mean sure there are some things about it that are dated but it doesn't stop it from being as creepy as hell.....

  • @mattthedemocrat1 Ha ha ha, your a fucking faggot. HA HA HA!!!

  • @mattthedemocrat1 Halloween paved the way for every slasher move since.....facts and stuff.

  • @mattthedemocrat1 You're no horror fan....

  • This iconic killer has been raped into an franchise. They should have just left it a Halloween 2!!!!!!!!!

  • @koopatroopagamer H20 was decent though. they should have had Halloween 1 and 2, then skipped to H20 and ended it there without god-awful Halloween resurrection

  • @TheGodKingOfMusic I have to admit h20 i liked it alot but still rob zombie took it way to far

  • @TheGodKingOfMusic I agree, H2O ended the franchise PERFECTLY! But no... some people just want to make money. smh.

  • @koopatroopagamer Wow, great job parroting everything James said, but I agree.

  • Comment removed

  • @gamerboy218 hmm ur cool kid

  • @koopatroopagamer They should have left it at 1. I hate all of the backstory sister crap. Halloween should be a guy killing people for no good reason.

  • @koopatroopagamer I think they should've left it at Halloween. The ending was just a classic John Carpenter ending that raises questions about the film. I think they should've just immediately gone to a different story.

  • @koopatroopagamer I dont know, for a remake i liked rob zombies version, it gave a lot of depth to the character that was missing in the older one

  • @deathman1021 thats the problem. you arent supposed to figure out michael.

  • @angryaznman Well thats a personal thing then i guess, i like it when a charcter is more developed than a paper bag

  • @koopatroopagamer shut the fucp faggot.

  • 1 2 4 and H20 were good the rest were shit

  • @Horrordude365 Could not agree more, just hit the nail right on the head mate.

  • @hoodge95 the rob zombie films sucked the original was more than a million times better on AMC every Halloween they play the Halloween films it's cool

  • @hoodge95 The Rob Zi

  • @hoodge95 I agree with you 100% on that

  • Best movie franchise ever.

  • Let's not just rip Zombie a new asshole, how about all the Halloweens between 3 and whatever the last one w Jamie was (H20?). They were all pretty bad. I would have been happy if they left it with the first but 1 and 2. And it's interesting, the 3rd is lost because they strayed from the concept but that movie is unfairly criticized and forgotten because we had to have Michael Meyers .It would have been an interesing concept to keep the franchise alive without Michael.

  • @hoodge95 Yeah I'll agree John Carpenter's Halloweens were much much better, but both House of 1000 corpses and Devil's Rejects were pretty damn good :)

  • @hoodge95 Give some credit to Rob Zombie Devil's Rejects was a good film,

  • Awesome review. All so-called sequels and remakes after "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" are pure garbage.

  • you know he actually likes halloween 3

  • @puffpuffdustbunny, I liked "Halloween III: Season of the Witch", too. I hated everything after.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SORRY

  • @puffpuffdustbunny, Wow! That's a lot of space you wasted!!

  • best horror film ever made

  • the doctor played in Rob Zombie's "Halloween" remake was also in "Clockwork Orange", which is directed by Stanley Kubrick. I know you did a review of Kubrick's "The Shining" and mentioned "Full Metal Jacket" in your Top 30 Films video, but pleeease do "Clockwork Orange".

  • Main problem with the remake: the kid's motive for killing was just because he was picked on. by bullies, his mom's boyfriend, and his sister. not scary at all. in the original it starts with him killing his sister for no reason. he just did it because he felt like it. now thats scary.

  • @Kirbybro4 what's your point it's easy
