@Raynor9X9 what happens is that the show goes to court and picks a case and talks to the parites involved in the case and asks them if they would like to be on the show, if they say yes then they sign a contract that says that watever JJ rules on is final and if they agree they get paid like a $100 and if the ruling has to do with money its not the person at fault that pays but rather the show does. its cool but it doesnt really teach a lesson to the person at fault.
