As for the critics, look at early clips of Johnny Depp or something. Not so hot. He improved with experience. Lucy will do just fine with some decent parts to work on chops. Good effort. Remember this is film acting. Think of it as brain surgery. A delicate relationship between you and the camera. I found Michael Caine's book on acting to be helpful. Type Andrafilm to see some of my acting skillz. Acting is tough. Actors make it look natural. Practice practice practice. Love to see more.

I liked this clip, although I somewhat disagree with mentalfengshui as I find often where actors are being "themselves" in different movies and they dont have any range of emotion, personality, etc,. A perfect example are some of those actors who appear in a sitcom and then appear in a drama utilizing the character from the sitcome. In other words, the sitcom character was them being themselves and it did not carry over well into the drama. Just my TCW.
I agree with tqsuited. I am a big fan of Lucy and really hope she makes it, but this was too 'act'y. Lucy, you're much more captivating when you're being yourself rather than trying to act like someone else. Keep acting, but act as YOU. Then you'll really make it.

The problem with this "acting" video - it feels too obvious that u are trying to act. I can't even follow the dialogue or watch it like a true performance, all i'm thinking about is "ok, so lucy is acting out some kinda scene.." I shouldnt be thinking that. I might be wrong but i thought the best acting is when u totally believe it, transported to a different place.. and the actors portraying the characters/scene are the last thing on ur mind. i agree. i think that you have a lot of personality but you seemed to be using almost "textbook" expressions and tones of voice. in other words, i didn't believe what i was watching. similarly to what tqsuited wrote, it appeared all too staged and a bit forced.
It's nice that you know good material to steal when you see it, but the original was done much better by Lindsey Broad and Kelli Giddish for The Burg.

as a professional acting coach..you def have potential...but if that's what you bringing in to your auditions, you should seek some coaching. Take it as a challenge, you won't get serious acting parts with what I've seen in this video. there are a lot of fish in the sea...you have to be the best of the best! good luck to you!

Someone needs a reality check! Don't mean to be mean but this girl can't act! And I don't want people coming back and saying "Oh well why don't you fucking try it?" I liked this clip, although I somewhat disagree with mentalfengshui as I find often where actors are being "themselves" in different movies and they dont have any range of emotion, personality, etc,. A perfect example are some of those actors who appear in a sitcom and then appear in a drama utilizing the character from the sitcome. In other words, the sitcom character was them being themselves and it did not carry over well into the drama. Just my TCW.

I agree with tqsuited. I am a big fan of Lucy and really hope she makes it, but this was too 'act'y. Lucy, you're much more captivating when you're being yourself rather than trying to act like someone else. Keep acting, but act as YOU. Then you'll really make it.

The problem with this "acting" video - it feels too obvious that u are trying to act. I can't even follow the dialogue or watch it like a true performance, all i'm thinking about is "ok, so lucy is acting out some kinda scene.." I shouldnt be thinking that. I might be wrong but i thought the best acting is when u totally believe it, transported to a different place.. and the actors portraying the characters/scene are the last thing on ur mind. I dont mean to be negative, but just my opinion.

i agree. i think that you have a lot of personality but you seemed to be using almost "textbook" expressions and tones of voice. in other words, i didn't believe what i was watching. similarly to what tqsuited wrote, it appeared all too staged and a bit forced.

Lucy - You are an energetic, expressive, and genuine person, but not a talented actress. Your reaction to YouTube comments and the audition process shows that a career involving compromise, bizarre behavior, and public scrutiny would destroy you. Plenty of other careers will let you do meaningful things: teaching, fundraising, public relations. You won't be rich or famous, but these can be rewarding personally and materially.
