i personally think it sounds better with "fucking" in it...but at the same time i have a couple buddies who cover that song at shows and use the swear words as well! but theres nothing wrong with the edited version!
see i dont like the chorus in the cd version... not that i have a problem with swearing or anything... i have such a dirty mouth on me. But something about saying "I was fucking wendy..." doesnt carry the same emotion.
I'd almost classify my feeling on this as the exact opposite- not a big swearer, think it just shows how sexually repressed and negative we are, limited vocabulary, etc., but I think the uncensored version is much better. oddly. pun intended.
I saw them open for Voice of the Beehive in Denver at um... I think it was Rock Island? That was an awesome show. Later found the sanitized version to download. Totally random, never heard of them ever again. I have no idea how the song even showed up or what I was searching for, but I recognized it instantly and downloaded it. Glad to find all of these. Thanks to whomever posted.
Wild I think both versions work really well both play on a young mans naivete. Both the profane and the clean versions characterize the 17 year old in the song as an immature sexual partner yet the more tame version makes him more of an idealist/romantic, while the profane leans more to the immature. Just fantastic, what a dichotomy!
One of the most underrated bands in the world. I remember the Roxy!

Hey, do you have Odds' video for "I Would Be Your Man?" I love that song, and I can't find it anywhere. I'd LOVE to be able to hear it again...

I'd have to agree with that, plus I find that "made love to" has more of a flow for the song.
when you hear the uncensored version, the chorus feels very abrupt

What a great song, video concept and band. Just wish there was a version with the correct chorus in it. God bless whoever posted this!

A really good song - the chorus (well, the original chorus) probably kept it from being bigger.
