hey i have the trial version and the tabs i downloaded are not opening. The program was looking for a license sort of? Is there anyway I could try this for free

I downloaded a song and it shows up fine and every thing, but the sound wont play it keeps showing me this pop up window that says something about not having associated sound tracks and that i need to do something and i don't understand what to doo, (Please help)

How do you make a note ring out for 2 measures for a 4/4 time signature?

Did they fixed in GP6 the absolutely idiotic problem of remove empty staves when printing a tab for several instruments?

If you have a song with 5 or 6 instruments, you end up with an 80 pages print, because you cannot hide the empty staves sections.

@shinigami1011 In the bottom portion of the screen where you see the tracks, you can add a track by pressing the little + sign on the left. Once you do, you'll be presented with options on what kind of instrument track you want to add, and the 7 string guitar will be among them.

I have a question. I downloaded a tab which has a predefined tuning already set by the creator of the tab. That means that i need to tune my guitar to that tuning before i can attempt to learn it? i tried selecting the standard tuning but the track sounds the same as the predefined tuning. Pls advice me!!!???

@ilovedancingandeatin Go to Tools > Transpose to transpose the track(s) to standard tuning.

I would like to know how to input our my tabs. More to the point how to make the bars the size that i want them not the size GP automatically sets for me. I know how to input tab numbers on the strings but it auto splits the bars into the wrong sizes for the riff i'm putting in. How do i make the bars the size i want them ?

You cannot load Guitar Pro 3 tabs into Guitar Pro 6. Only Guitar Pro 5 (.gp5) and Guitar Pro 6 (.gpx) tabs are compatable. What i do is have GP5 and 6 installed so that if i run into this problem i can open the tab with GP5 and save it as a .gp5 file then Guitar Pro 6 will open it.

I read ALL the comments and watched the video(nice job btw).....BUT, I cant figure out what this program is actually used for. Just to edit songs? Using just their sheet music? Does it record live....? Can I create,,,, using my own inputs/guitar/keyboard???? thats what i'd like.....Or is it just a learning tool alone??? ..confused.

Hi! I am using the trial version of GP6 and I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong to apply effects such as the screamer and distortion and such. Does the trial allow those sound banks? In the full version, do I just choose the select the effect I want and it will add the sound to the track automatically? I tried to add various effects but nothing sounded different.

@lchacon077 I'm not sure, but I would think the effects work on the trial version as well. The sound you get also depends on the order you put the effects in, and you can also tune the strength of each effect once they are applied, so make sure you have them turned up, dragging them into the effects panel is not enough.

i downloaded the demo version and it wont let me view any of the tabs i've downloaded? does that feature not work for the demo?

@blackrosedying13 Yep, that was disabled with GP6. You can view the default demo tabs that come with GP6 to test the sound engine, but you would need to buy it to play the tabs you have.
