Ook ik ben een hobby kok, maar dit zo ver van mijn bed show, onmogelijk om na te maken. Leuk dat je die olijven hebt kunnen namaken, ik kom graag een keertje bij je eten. ;)
Wow, this is very interesting. "El Bulli accommodates only 8,000 diners a season, but gets more than two million requests. The average cost of a meal is €250;[5] the restaurant itself has operated at a loss since 2000, with operating profit coming from El Bulli-related books and lectures by Adrià"

pff ... its just food ... it nerved me to imagine that the first class of the western world fed like that while people in the third world still have hunger :(
@mujarik I sympathise with that argument but you can make the same comparison with space travel, etcetera.
In this case, when you're there, then it becomes clear that you're experiencing art. I do think that there is place for the avant garde (in all kinds of creative expression) in today's world.
Obviously it's a place for true foodies, if you don't care that much about creative cuisine then no video or report will make you change your mind !
@pingpongme The menu costs 270 euro. Yes, that's not cheap in absolute terms and more than I ever paid for a meal, but it boils down to 6 euro per creative dish. Considering the large numbers of chefs and other staff involved + ingredients, it is actually not overpriced, in fact I once read that the restaurant didn't really make a profit. Was it worth it in the end? Yes, definitely, a unique experience!
Maybe it's just projection, but it sounded like you were choking on your own saliva during your description of some of the dishes. I know my mouth was watering while watching this video.
That looks spectacular. Not necessarily an ensemble of dishes, rather an entire orchestra. I can't help thinking I'd be craving a hearty steak after that session, just to take a large bite out of something! I somehow doubt my Neanderthalic ways would likely get me on that exclusive list of customers however.
Wow! This will probably be one of the most memorable days in your life! ;-) I'm sure a lot of people envy you, me included. I like the stylish plates and how each dish was presented. - Was this sequence of 45 dishes served to every guest at that day? Or were you able to choose from a menu?
@stschmalhaus You couldn't choose. This was the menu for all the guests that day, unless you had certain allergies - then they would substitute dishes as required. It was indeed an incredible experience, that I will never forget.
thank u for making this video.. it's very nice and enjoyable :)

Try looking for sugar cane in chinatowns, some of the larger ones will often have actual canes, at least in England.

Taking the risk of sounding vulgar i have to ask: how much does a 45 dishes menu at El Bulli's cost?

I guess the word you were looking for at 19:10 is "candy floss" or "cotton candy". In German it is called "Zuckerwatte".

@stschmalhaus Yes indeed: Cotton Candy! I annotated the video with this correction. Thanks !
