If we do not eat agriculture products, what is left to eat? Those who find themselves "against" what she is saying are too arrogant to have ever known real hunger.

It takes 6 to 10 times more grain to fatten animals to eat rather than eating the grains directly. Animal ag is terribly wasteful on water and other resources. And as far as harmers and ranchers being concerned with the animals? Sure... All the way to the slaughterhouse and to the bank.We can thrive on a plant based diet - These are the farmers I wish to support.
@beaelliott So....if farmers/ranchers don't "waste" water and other resources to feed their animals...who IS going to feed them? Do we just let them starve? Hmm...Also, did you happen to hear the part about agriculture being essential to the economy? Of course you're allowed to support whoever and do whatever you want--just be sure to respect those of us whose livelihoods depend on "wasting" resources to make sure our main source of income stay alive and healthy. Thanks.
@beccak1415 That's the problem isn't it? Bringing "domestic" animals who are dependent on us into the world for our use. If we stopped with the artificial insemination & breeding of them-that would reduce this dilemma greatly. As far as the lives, flesh, blood and bone of others being "essential" to the economy- I understand that this is the same reason slaveholders fought abolition. People eat nutritious foods that don't require killing - The economy and culture would do well to shift to that.
@beaelliott Oooookaaaaay...luckily I don't think that will happen in my lifetime (if ever)...and did you really just compare raising beef cattle to slavery?? Wow...
@beccak1415 The fundamental principles of exploitation are the same: Might makes right. Certainly these animals are "forced" to be killed - Yes? Oppression (bullying) takes place on two legged and four legged victims. The core of abuse is the same: Domination and greed.
@beaelliott oppression? 1- i've seen animals treated with more care than some humans. 2- humans ARE dominate over animals; and 3- it's definitely not greed driving animal ag. i think it's safe to say that majority of farmers/ranchers are lucky most years to break even, let alone make a marginal profit. therefore it's NOT greed, it's survival. you really expect us to just suddenly change our whole lifestyles?...oh, & i guess we're also oppressing dogs and cats by forcing them to be our pets too??
@beccak1415 It is greed for flesh... Gluttony for meat that requires the life of someone else who wants to live. Treated with more "care" than humans? All the way to the slaughterhouse... And the stun-gun. I only ask one question - By what "right"?
@beaelliott If your really worried about harming other living organisms you really should just go kill yourself. Life requires life. Your vegetable alternatives are just as alive as that "cute little Bambi" or cow or whatever animal it is your so bent up over.
@JustHereBeingMe Other organisms aren't sentient- Biology 101 says "animal, vegetable, mineral". Cows, chickens, pigs, men and mice aren't rocks- And carrots don't feel pain like we animals do. Life may require life... But not bloodshed - Needlessly so I might add. In case you aren't aware - There are millions thriving on a plant based diet... Killing doesn't have to be part of a joyful and healthy life. Indeed, I say it is the antithesis. We would do well to extend compassion rather than harm.
@beaelliott@chainranchlady Cattle convert land that's unsuitable for crops into medicine, makeup, leather goods (your shoes, purses etc.) crayolas, perfume, pet food etc. etc. in other words 1,000's of by-products are provided through animal agriculture. Thanks Miss America for raising awareness
@bossybovine Hum... I've found perfectly suitable alternatives to animal rendered remnant stuff, leather, etc.... I mean really, slaughterhouse waste in lipstick and makeup? Yuck! Better to be beautiful on the inside by not killing others --- Also there's tons of vegan replacements out there... All ya gotta do is lOOk! ;)
@beaelliott Oh my goodness I didn't realize I had completely overlooked your comment I'm sorry for not paying enough attention to you... Thank you for your comment on your originality it was so sweet however I'm sure you noticed it was in quotation marks (btw that means that it's a quote) so I really can't take the credit.. I'm not surprised you've never heard it though...you don't exactly seem the type to listen to anything you don't want to hear.
@JustHereBeingMe I was being sarcastic-No surprise you didn't pick up on that either. It requires a certain amount of creative, thinking outside the box!As does questioning the diet you were given as a child-It requires examining the status quo and having the courage to adapt to newly found, original, self-defining principles. Finally, is there anything you can say pertaining to the subject that isn't borrowed from the insults and emotion-soaked nonthinking that others have reduced themselves to?
@beaelliott Awwww I missed you too! I love that you say that when you clearly didn't pick up on my sarcasm. :) I find you quite amusing really. I mean the way you constantly attempt to uphold this stick up your butt air of superiority honestly cracks me up. You never answered my questions on the dairy farmers but whatever I gotta go to class. As always it's good talking to you.
@JustHereBeingMe Sincerely... I've re-read all the comments and find no question about dairy farmers directed to me. Please repeat and I'll be glad to answer. And of course, I'll continue to make every effort to stay on topic with relevant comments. Appreciate the same - Thanks.
@beaelliott My question. Directed at you. Is. Why are you "hating" (it means putting down others success) on a video where people are actually taking care of the animals they OWN rather than the videos where people are abusing and neglecting animals. For someone clearly as intelligent as you (honestly no sarcasm) I believe putting down people doing the best they can to live with animals is quite beneath you. For god'Is sake they have a vet check up once a week???
We love this video. Thank you for being such a positive and inspirational advocate of agriculture.
