OMG you look amazing! What a difference from the first videos you posted; so calm and gorgeous! I'm going to forward your videos to those "you are beautiful just as you are': people I know who REALLY need that procedure. You must look fabulous in a bikini!
Wow, so helpful. I cannot even begin to tell you! Now, I don't have to lust after the egg roll when the fam does takeout, b/c I can have the egg drop soup! lol FREEDOM! sort of. I'm going to try the lazagna idea. I think I need to run to the grocery store. I have to plan my meals for tomorrow. :) Yay! Liquid phase: OVER!
Great video! I was just searching online the different types of clear liquid soups I could drink after surgery because my surgeon recommends 10 days after surgery to drink only clear broth. The egg drop soup sounds delish, I was also thinking strained miso soup, or pho soup would probably be good as well. I'm going to start a food journal right now thanks for the link Jenn!
@msrainbowchaser57 I liked miso, too. Straining any soup that is broth based is more flavorful than just having plain broth from the can/box. I'm glad you liked it. take care - jenn
Thanks again, Jenn! More GREAT info. (I found myself saying whatevs a few times, the other day. I can't even blame it on my daughter. lol) I've started using the Lose It app on my iPhone (or I plan to, anyway, sometime very soon).
@CtheSunshine Whatevs is fun to say and really conveys the lack or caring since you don't even complete the word. :) I hope it is helpful. Very helpful app. take care - jenn
I never thought of egg drop soup- did you make it yourself and if so recipe please! This info is super helpful- I'm about a month away from surgery. My surgeon requires no pre-op diet- jsut 1 day of clear liquids. Keep these coming and love the whatevs!
@nld3328 I usually had take out soup, however I made it a few times. I don't remember which recipe I used, but there are many delicious ones online. Only 1 day pre-op diet, wow, good, how lucky are you?? :) I'm glad it was helpful. I said whatevs way too many times in this video. I'd spent too much time with my teenage daughter, apparently. LOL! Best of luck with your upcoming surgery. take care - jenn
You have lost the weight and you are maintaining very well.. what do you track now? how many ounces? calories? (still working on my 10% - wondering if I follow your current diet if it might prep me for life after surgery)
@315mqf Go to sparkpeople or livestrong and entry your info and find out what recommended calorie intake is for your height/weight/age/weight to lose. I eat prolly about at most 1/2 cup worth of food per meal. I try my best to drink 10 - 8oz servings of water a day. I eat my protein first, and avoid simple carbs. Complex carbs w/ protein are great for maintaining a healthy blood sugar which helps your body work efficantly and helps with weight loss. I have at least 1 protein shake a day.
@indranieves Yes you can, but it will get old. Since shakes are sweet you will get tired of just water and sweet all day. Trust me. So, at least, throw in some broth too. It is good to start soft food when you are allowed too, that way you get used to eating again. It is a completely different experience as a new post-op. take care - jenn
yes i know im gonna get tired but i'm the puertorican pikiness master lol so i don't do broth is gonna be really challenging for me i don't do veggies, salads is gonna be hard but im not gona give up i need to get out from this bed and be me again need to walk .. but thanks anyway thanks for the info is very helpful God bless!
ooh I really like what you said about everything but especially the part about getting your 70 grams of protein in liquid and anything you ate was a bonus. thats really smart because your also making sure you are getting water.....love it ! Im pre-opt so I find this so very intersting1 thank you very much!
@kkimberly2004 Thanks! It really was the only way for me to realistically get in all my protein for the first 2 months after I started eating real food/soft food. Water is extremely important to your health. I'm so glad you enjoyed. take care - jenn
We haven't heard from you in a while? How are you doing these days?
