  • Damn, that sounds pretty sweet. Sounds like my day, I'm in high school, only they don't have to do school work.

  • 3:00 Dave Chapelle?

  • What's with all the gallows?

  • Chuckie shut up

  • stop locking people up for growing weed. Violence is wrong but growing a plant is not. Why should we be denied our own nature

  • @chrissline77 your right and when those felons you turned down rob your jewelry store don't say I didn't tell you so.

  • I thought Pelican Bay SP was for the hardened prison gang members & bosses.

  • Dudes full of shit Shoplifting is not a felony.

  • 5 years for shoplifting?? Wtf did that guy shoplift??!!

  • the guy at 1:55 lifted a whole shop? the same body shop the previous guy worked in?

  • @GRAFF310 They always bullshit and try to minimize it. He probably stabbed someone on the way out. Having said that the sentences are insanely long in USA.

  • Police have a way of turning a little amount of sexual contact into child molestation and rape. All offenders need when this happens is a slap on the wrist. Its likehaving a minimal amount of drugs. Just give them a stern talking so they learn their lessen. Like 30 days in jail, away from their families, jobs, social life. If they keep repeating then increase the time.

  • @chuckieboy1988 ..Your Stupid.

  • @GhostFromDa361 lol @ you. dont gotta agree with me, but I happen to believe I am right

  • @GRAFF310 probably had a lot of priors

  • i bet back in the early 1900 hundreds theft like robbing a bank would get you like 1 year in prison or maybe murder would get you like 10 years, now robing a bank in some states will get you life cause now it matters if you have a weapon or if you assault or kidnap some one

  • @777bigham777 Who the Son set`s Free is Free indeed, you might have blown your life here on Earth, but if you make Jesus Christ the Lord and Saviour of your life, you will have ETERNAL LIFE,Forever and EVER. or ,reject the free gift of SALVATION from God and spend your ETERNAL SOUL IN HELL,Judged GUILTY OF YOUR SINS.HELL, WILL BE MUCH WORSE THAN PRISION here on Earth. MAKE JESUS CHRIST THE LORD OF YOUR LIFE.

  • @ilililhy1 why are you telling me this? ithas nothing to dp with my question

but i do Love the Lord Jesus Christ

  • @ilililhy1 I AM SAVED! I do follow Lord Jesus Larry Bird and the true God of God's, Michael Jordan. HALLELUJAH!

  • Gotta love it, 3 square meals a day, TV, room and board paid for and the basic shitty work everybody else does out there.. lmao

  • @tarantula152 and if u look at some dib, shit the rong way, maby yoyr life will be fucked,,,, Ps dont think u know the drill........

  • hahahahahaha he got a deal for his sentence and he sounds pretty convinced, dumb motherfucker

  • AMERICAN SENTENCES ARE TOO HARSH!

  • @dooky1967 ....American sentences are not harsh enough.

  • If you cant do the time dont do the crime. Im sick to death of hearing whinging criminals moaning and complaining about being banged up. Bring back hanging and introduce a point system for prsistant criminals and if you reach 100 points top em.If they self harm or comit suicide who gives a shit its one less scumbag on the streets.

  • maaan..prisons in the usa is like a 5 star hotel..inmates in that prison live better than most middle class people in my country! the only element they are missing is freedom but other than that they are being pampered..come see prisons in Egypt or 3rd world countries in general and you would lick the ground of the usa everyday and thank Allah you are a usa citizen

  • 5 fucking years for shoplifting? OH MY GOD!

  • the guy that cuts the lenses for the eye glasses..if he lived in Jersey, he would make a good living being an optician..hope he does well for himself

  • what I hate about the justice system is when a felon gets out of prison. How are they supposed to succeed. Everytime they look for a job people say no 9 times out of 10. So of course they are going to go back to robbing and stealing. We need a way that felons can redeem themselves and even get the felony removed from their criminal records. I am in now way speaking about murder or any other capital crimes.

  • @Joshua4599 ..........look I don't want to hire anyone whose been in prison for 20 years to look after my jewelry store. I have the right to know the back ground of the person working for me.

  • @chrissline77 but the whole point of prison is to rehabilitate the prisoners. I mean if they go out, it means that they've been successfully rehabilitated and thus can continue living like all normal citizens. For this reason, I find it unfair why you should base your hiring on whether someone committed a crime some years ago. Of course I can understand you, I wouldn't hire someone like that either, but that's because the prison system is corrupt and people who go out become worse than before.

  • @kosm001 That's not the "whole point" of it. I don't believe it's even the primary point of it. The primary point is justice, or punishment. If the prisoner can be "rehabilitated" as well, then that's great, and there are programs designed to try to achieve that, but it is secondary, for better or worse. I do agree that the prison system is corrupt, but I also think that punishment should be the primary reason for imprisonment.

  • Suppose someone was stupid and did something illegal when they were younger, should they always have a criminal record on their backs because of their stupidity? We're not perfect, we're human beings, and make mistakes. Some are big, some are small. What I don't agree with is criminal records. You go to prison, you do your time, then you should be out a free man. With criminal records, you aren't free at all. So basically, once you're in the prison, you never go outside.

  • @kosm001 I agree for youthful mistakes, and the system makes allowances for those situations. But the crimes of the people in this video hardly fall under that category--"woops, I didn't mean to brutally strangle that girl to death...twice," or, "yes, I shot a killed a human being while robbing him for $20, but hey, boys will be boys."

I don't think so. Their victims will never get a second chance, and neither should they.

  • @MaximusRelaximus I have to agree with you in this case.

  • ......... and for this reason we should all agree that the prison system should change, but that's not going to happen, because who really cares about criminals?

  • The 3 strikes principle means that people can easily get a life sentence for shoplifting, even if it's just a few dollars worth of food, if they've had serious priors . . .

  • some guy in the usa got life in prison for stealing a slice of pizza now thats fucked up google it

  • The guy at 1:30 ironically looks a lot like the manager at my bank...

  • 5 years for stealing from a shop! What is wrong with American justice!!!

A man loses 5 years of his life for shoplifting!............That's plain wrong!

I suspect that he is a poor man with limited ability for legal representation. I'll guarentee that some rich person - such as Winona Rider (who was also convicted of shoplifting) didnt get 5 years!!!

  • @starryian007

that stupid bitch did'nt even get 5 minutes, lol

  • @starryian007 were all slaves of the machine.

  • @starryian007

or he could just be lying ;)

  • @starryian007 Priors man.. If you have a decent amount of felonies on your record you're a repeat offender. Now if someone is a repeat offender and you give them 2 months in jail for that crime what do you think they will do when they get out? Its not a victimless crime they're stealing from other people. You don't get 5 years shoplifting if its your first offense lol you walk away with a slap on the wrist.

  • @starryian007 And I suspect there's a lot more to the story than a simple shoplifiting conviction. In fact, I'm sure of it. I'll bet any amount of money he has a long history of priors, and several other aggravating circumstances were involved.

  • @MaximusRelaximus Good point Maximus. I have always raised an eyebrow where I hear the term 'Correctional Facility'Both you and I know that's total bullcrap. For too many the term 'correctional' is the absolute last thing they learn.

I think Morgan Freeman said it all in the Shawshank Redemption "Rehabilitated? it's just a bullshit word, a politicians word, invented so that young fellas like yourself can wear a shiny suit and have a job.Just fill out your form sonny and stop wasting my time"

  • It's not as clear cut as lots think. Often private companies cost the state less than doing it themselves for things like med or psych services. I have worked for both state and private. The company I work for is really pretty good & saves the state money but personally, corrections is one of the few things I dont think should be turned over to private companies. Just on a principal kind of thing. Even if the state saves money there is a profit motive in the system.

  • American prisons are pure profit free laber, they have these guys make product then turn around and sell it to us at ridculas prices then tell us because of insurance, theft, etc. they have to raise prices. America are slaving these men. There are alot of everyday items in your house right now that were made in prison.

  • @allbiznessboxing There is really not any prison industry left. It costs more in additional security ect than anything these guys produce. Any industry or work programs are an attempt at rehab, not making money.

  • @shananagans5 Oh, man. There is a lot of money being made. It may not be by your state gov't or the feds, but lots of companies are making money. Therein lies the incentive. Can't rant about it now, but do some more looking around and you will find that this system keeps lots of people very wealthy.

  • @brek5 lol well yea. I am one of those people. I was simply pointing out that putting inmates to work costs more than they produce.

  • @shananagans5 Ok, point taken. I just read it like you were saying no one was making money, which would be the wrong impression for those just getting interested in the issue. And of course, I am not taking issue with guards as much as I am large companies, like the suppliers, consultants and administrators working on contract. Anyway, thanks for clarifying (usually Youtube comments are like screaming against a hurricane). ^^

  • 5 years for fucking shoplifting, what kind of bollocks is that!

  • @antjmi probably stole some expensive shit eatherway your right 5 years is like damn might aswell have stolen a car lol

  • A gentlemen who rape children ?

  • he forgot to tell the hole story,

he is a criminal thru and thru

  • wow i live in australia that guy would have got just a fine just for shop lifting getting 5 years for shop lifting that is wrong

  • 5 years for shoplifting? Did I miss something

  • "You go through your shower proceeeeeeeesssssssssssssss.......................then you play your carrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdddddddddddddsssssssssss or your chesssssssssssssssss!" haha you can tell he's bored of the regime.

  • 5 years for shoplifting WTF there is worse out there

  • You big hearted people dont get the picture. These guys have done petty crimes, but why are they in Pelican Bay State Prison, which is a level 4 super max prison? They seem innocent like a little baby kittens unitl the cameras are off and they could be themselves. They are really great con artist. Dont forget that they committed crimes that give people nightmares for the rest of their lives. Quit being stupid and open your eyes.

  • The prison system in the US has failed, period. There are many prisons where the stronger inmates run the show. Thats a joke.... The gangbangers have an easy time in prison because the can sell dope, extort other inmates terrorise guard personel etc. That is so wrong. All of them need to work all day, have no spertime. And they need to learn very tough discipline... Thats not the only thing they need to do, but it is a start. Even in Pelican Bay they run the show.. What a joke.

  • its basicly an open gang bang

  • i got 8 yrs for jaywalking, fuk the judge, Hmmm he aint alive no more from what i heard, lmao, thats too fukn bad,

  • @mr1derful112 how did u get 8 for jaywalking?

  • If I was the President of the USA, the first thing I'd do is let a lot of people out of jail!

  • @KingdomofReign Who would you let out? For what crimes? I'd let out non violent offenders. Then marijuana crimes ... But I would execute rapists, child molesters , and other criminals.

  • 5 years for shopliftin...thats americas fucked up justice system for you

  • @xRogueWolfx @jasonmildward34 you go so great jail system and sritch law on usa im sure not all sentences are fair but most deserwe what they got in filand some one assault and batters you and get just 200 euros ticet thats fucked if something 5 year is about what you get on manslaugter in finland

  • If these guys had jobs like at 5:30, that paid enough for a mortgage and a car, with a little left over for a vacation and a hobby, would they throw that all away to go back to jail?

  • I could be wrong but maybe the guy did something much worse than shoplifting and he is too ashamed to say it on camera, it is possible. Or maybe he did many worse things before the shoplifting conviction.

  • @girraboyzz

Or maybe he's had so many shoplifting charges against him that they got sick and tired of it because he wasn't learning his lesson

  • @girraboyzz Thats possible...but he could have caught a shoplifting charge while on parole. I have a friend in Pa that got 3 years on a shoplifting charge. Bad move on his part but I don't think people deserve these insane amounts of time for trivial crimes when the same court system will let pedophiles go with short county sentences. Really, who really belongs in for the long haul?

  • thats how sick tha justice sytem is man

  • @mrfatd i cant agree with u more thats ridiculous maybe 6 months or a year but 5 no way

  • dude, the world is crazy!

  • 5 yrs for SHOPLIFTING????

    holy motherfuuuuck thats soo fucked!!!

  • @mrfatd maybe it was not his first infraction ?????

  • @mrfatd Yea quite steep but you can bet that old jig has a history of crimes both violent and non violent going back over 40 years, and he will probably get paroled in 2 years, but will he think to himself " oh lordy im given up crime for good" or will he break into a store and do a bit of shoplifting?

  • @mrfatd people get less time for murder

  • @jasonmildward34 you go so great jail system and sritch law on usa im sure not all sentences are fair but most deserwe what they got in filand some one assault and batters you and get just 200 euros ticet thats fucked if something

  • @mrfatd repeat offenders get the max. I bet he doesn't serve 5 if he behaves.

  • @Veritas925 you dont get good time on second offence

  • @mrfatd yea anything over 200 is a felony 2months to 5 years so he must have had some prioers and fucked deal

  • @mrfatd

yeah fucking right no way! maybe he was on parole then got caught shoplifting so that added time other then that no way in hell you will get 5 years for shoplifting

  • @mrfatd ya... he must have been convicted by an all white jury and judge... what fucking bullshit

  • @mrfatd laws are VERY dis-proportionate. Most of our jails are filled with non-violent offenders; many for drug crimes. States like California are on the "verge" of legalizing it, but don't get caught with a joint in Texas! This has nothing to do with weather or not you think drugs should be legal; this has to do with "What's good for the goose is good for the gander" i.e. - sentencing should be equal if ALL elements of the crime are equal; race or location should NOT influence sentencing-IMO

  • @mrfatd haha indeed, that's called faillure.

  • @Nicodeme001

noh thats called united states.. shoplifting should bever get 5 years thats ridiculous.

  • @charlyblues Well that's what I mean...American failure. As usual.

  • @Nicodeme001 Ah ok, I thought you meant the dude..

But word man, system over there is crazy! But everyone knows, prison is big business, cheap labor and they get a fee for every prisoner.

  • @mrfatd lol thats just shit, the judge saw his wife gettin fucked by his son in the morning

  • @mrfatd that's what i said, but there has to be more to that story. maybe other offenses.

  • @mrfatd It goes like this. If you have three strikes, you're OUT! You get LIFE!

Doesn't matter if you have a crackpipe or muder someone...

  • @mrfatd he probley had a huge record and was probley on like probation when he did it.

  • @mrfatd yup and u can even get ten years for selling steros or food or anything that is a store item without a licewnce to sell that item if u get arreasted the 3rd time for it u can get that time the system is fucked u'll be suprized what can get you hard time

  • @mrfatd yeah and the fucked up thing here that really disturbs me is that if a 16 year old kills another 16 year old here in sweden he only gets 1 year and 8 months...

I mean, poor guy, 5 years for shoplifting. thats.. wrong

  • @mrfatd

FUCKKK I WAS THINKIN' THE SAME THING...MABYE HE FUCKED AROUND WIT' KIDS..IT'S NOT LIKE HE'S GONNA ADMIT

  • @mrfatd Yes...but he was shoplifting a BANK TELLER MACHINE

  • @mrfatd Too bad he wasnt a bank, he would have been paid by the government for steeling money

  • @mrfatd It's a depression, the government needs near FREE labor.

  • @mrfatd he probably had a lot of prior convictions to get that much. no one gets 5 years for that on a first offense, and he probably pled out to that, to minimize a more serious charge.

  • I just got out of prison after a 9 year sentence. To everybody thats never been to , do whatever it takes not to. It really is a living hell. We would say in prison that "prison is right across from hell"

  • I've had friends and known a fair amount of people who were Meth users. I, luckily, never liked Meth. The supporters of the "War on Drugs" think that longer prison sentences will help fight Meth use. I've never yet met a Meth user who gave a damn about the risks of Jail or Prison. Tweakers and Crack Heads just don't give a damn about cops or the law in general. We gotta treat Meth addicts like a person with a health problem. Tougher laws aren't gonna help one bit...

  • they have souls and minds, they know they could get treatment but they prefer to keep doing crime and doing meth, thats their choice and they go to jail for it, and ofcourse meth dealers should always get 25+ years for what they do, users should just get a few years, perhaps get sent to clinics and counseling for treatment on first conviction, then after that just prison time if they refuse to be adults.

  • I thought shoplifting was a misdemeanor.

  • @OneEyedJack1970:

Shoplifting becomes a felony if you've been convicted of it at least twice (in the state of Michigan, anyway). But what I wanna know is what the hell is a 60 something year old doing shoplifting?!? You would think he'd know better than that at that age!!!

  • @OneEyedJack1970

Depends on how much you lift both in value and how often you get caught

  • the guy at 1:50 seems like a gentleman. i mean, sometimes good people have to steal becuase their cricumstances render that... if you had no money and your wife and kid were hungry, damn right u would steal...its called survival... i heard i guy getting 6 years for killing a pregnant woman and this guy got 5 years for shoplifting...its wrong

  • @davespud100 considering he was given five years and not a month he was probably doing someting worse

  • @davespud100, hey dummy if you get to the point where your wife and kids are hungry then you should shoot yourself in the head because your lazy piece of shit azz should of got up and got a job months ago, and I dont care if it's cleaning toilets for minimum wage, see that's what a man does, or at least this one

  • @TRUTH975 You clean toilets? Wow you're a success ain't ya!

  • @Terminator860 Looks like someone didn't make it to 8th grade, now try reading it again, nice and slow this time so you have a chance to comprehend.

  • @TRUTH975 I live in England. We don't have grades and we don't do rediculous things like lock people up for 5 years for shoplifting and letting people walk the streets with concealed pistols!

  • @Terminator860

    It's ridiculous not rediculous

  • @TRUTH975 so is your comment ffs!

  • @TRUTH975 retard

  • @davespud100 Right and I bet the guy that killed the pregnant girl was a white guy. Stats say black men recieve far longer sentances than thier white counter parts for the same crimes.

  • @allbiznessboxing whoever gave you the stats is full of shit. the balance is actually quite even. the youngest lifers right now are whites even if more lifers are not white. more blacks may get the death sentence however a white person's death sentence is twice as likely to be carried out, and the average time for a white person on death row is 10 years as compared to 14 years for a black person. so white death row is actually carried out much more rapidly.

  • @davespud100 it's called being black lol

  • @davespud100 the law needs full proof of murder if they dont have enough evidence then u won't get the murder charge u'll just be investigated and ifgf they dont find the evidence then ull be released so that guy who killed the pregnant woman dident get 6 years for her murdder he was being investigated then let go ig he really did it they will find proof and he will do a life bid

  • @davespud100 .......

unless the 6 year guy was on a plea bargain, got a personal pardon or is a very old case i sincerely doubt the usa would give 6 years. several states automatically give life without parole for both 1st and 2nd degree murder. 26 states gives life without parole for 1st degree instantly, 2 states give life without parole for 2nd degree and about a dozen other states give life with parole for 2nd degree.

the most lenient state is alaska where sentence is at least 15 years.

  • cant beleive people stay 15 years in prison

  • Yeah its really crazy....just thinking about it would convince anyone to avoid being a criminal...i know it convinces me...even thoug the money sometimes seem very attractive...man...15 years locked up, must be real hell what a waste of lifetime...

  • At least they got TV in there.

  • 5 years for shop lifting! OMFG!

  • @Ethix127 why. .. cause hes black ... america is a fucking racist scumbag country

  • dfd

  • they talk about their time in prison the same way that folks talk about their careers.. like i spent xx years at this place, tc

  • The guy they are interviewing in what appears to be a library at 1:50 the row of books on the fourth shelf, is it me or are they blurred?

  • They're blurred.

  • he probably got the 5 years for shop lifting because he was a repeat offender

  • supertuber97 america is larger its just scale

  • no, america has the highest RATE of incarceration in the world. 1% of all adults and growing rapidly. we also have some of the highest recidivism rates. population size has nothin to do with it

  • it comes down to poverty and depreivation and americas a massive place so...

  • My brother is in San Quetin for 7 counts of armed robbery, 12 counts of attempted murder and illuding arrest. he has a total of 160 years.

  • GOOD!

  • they are all innocent

  • I find it incredible that 1 in 100 American citizens are in prison. That is a hell of a ration. In the UK its 1 in 750, France is 1 in 850. Whats going on over there? Can someone enlighten me please?

  • to many people like being tough guys over here, big hip hop influence over here...its still mostly 70 percent black or something.....not even being rascist just stating the truth

For the most part black people have to keep it real hahahhaha

  • war on drugs, 85% of inmates are in for drug-related offenses. also america is full of bloodthirsty rednecks who want their bloody retribution rather than restitution and rehabilitation. america could learn a thing or two from european prison systems. ours is terrible

  • Some of these prisoners had prior convictions. I can tell you if I went to prison when i got out I would do everything I could to make sure i never go back in.

  • Damn he got a 5 year bid for shoplifting??

  • welcome to Amerikkka....

no fuckin justice in this prison country

  • u can get a job in there? where should i apply??

  • You don't apply. You tell them you are willing to work during intake when they ask you and they assign you a job. You get time knocked off of your sentence for going to work. You can literally cut your time in half with all the gain time you can get. I was sentenced to 90 days for battery and was out in less than two months.

  • UNLESS YOU'RE doing time for a Drinking and driving related charge!

At least in T.N. you dont, you can't even get 2 for 1 if your chage has anything to do with alcol and driving. But hell, Id work anyway, beats sitting on yer ass going crazy!

  • shopfiting 5 years; he had some prior felony convictions.

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn 5 year for shop lifting

  • yea man i was shocked... in the uk we would just get a fine and community service, fuck living over there!

  • man this looks like a club med compared to other prisons i saw here on ytube.

  • I wonder, if he would get credit for adding his prison employment to his resume when he gets out of prison and wants to find a job?!?! LOL

  • shoplifting??? that cant be true

  • fucking ridiculouss how do you get all your life tookin away for stealing?? da fuck? thats crazy..i feel like somebody should only get life or even over 15 years if htey are a danger when they get out.or if they killed more than like 2 or 3 people

  • Yeah, but you have to understand, the higher the risk of a crime, the lower the number of people with the balls to commit it. You're right though, those guys look extremely normal for jail birds. And even the guy convicted of murder looks like a decent person...mistakes and bad choices really can fuck you for life.

  • I could never image living the rest of my days in a prison, being told when to eat, what to eat, when to shower, when to go outside, and to be caged in a cell. Even if you don't get the death penalty, your still paying the sacrifices with your life.

  • yeah, when im done watching this im gonna google "How to hang yourself with a bedsheet"

  • lol

  • there are less drugs and ,less distractions? reality is not really that way, prison is human BEINGS rotting away , nothing conducive happens in there. there so many drugs cuz, thres so many addicts

  • YES - FIVE YEARS FOR: ** CHRONIC SHOPLIFTING **

People who cannot go a day without stealing something are in a large percentage of why PRICES GO UP - AND UP - AND UP.

    5-years for being a CHRONIC THEAF -

5-years for causing other people to pay higher prices.

5-years for letting a lazy ass sit and not make the money for what they stole.

5-years for creating new jobs like "loss prevention" so that companies can MAINTAIN discount stores like Target - Wal Mart - Meijer - K Mart

  • damn dude actin like hes running GM, well thats all they got,sad

  • At least the man is proud of someting and taking the job of other peoples eye-wear seriously!

SOMETIMES COMPANIES ACTUALLY GET BETTER WORKERS IN PRISON!

Less drugs, distrac tions, and other addictions make it possible for hi-tech jobs to be in prisons.

It is also good because if women and men cannot pay their CHILD SUPPORT in the free-world, they can pay it in prison!

  • As soon as a group of people figured out how to make a profit by locking up their fellow citizens that's exactly what happened. USA locks up more people, per-capita than any other nation in the world. It's big business. If you're an American don't ever think that YOU will never go to prison. Odds are good that you will spend some time in a prison before your life is done...

  • fuck in Canada you'd get a lecture for shoplifting and you if you listen well and don't interrupt they give you a sucker

  • For shoplifting you would only get a fine in the uk

  • 5 years for shop lifting....insane

  • Its called, "bad lawyer". it is pretty bad though i agree.

  • ya 5 years is fucking gay usa laws r retarded

  • 5 years for shoplefting ????? lmao thats why im glad to be canadian cuz you usa faggs r stupid as fuck like 5 years give me a break fuck u guys r dumb as fuck

  • 5 years.. dumbasses.
