Wow. I live here in Atlanta. That was on the top-end of I-285. I was stuck in that jam. So glad I don't do the top-end commute anymore, now that I work 15 minutes from my home. Cheers, great editing!

When I first started driving I was delivering to the Philly market and Hunts Point. ATL ain't so bad compared to that. When going north from I-75, I take GA-83 to I-20. Cuts an hour off and no traffic through ATL. Don't have to hit the scales either! ;)

I was at a stoplight after delivering an overseas out of crates. Some asshole flicked a cigarrette into on of the boxes STUFFED with paper. About 3 miles down the freeway I look back to see huge smoke and flames pouring from the trailer. I slid to a stop and grabbed the big crowbar and managed to dump the vault on the side of the freeway before the fire truck showed. The cops made us come back and clean up the ashes

you do have diesel fuel in your tractor,.. and it only makes sense to me,. to do as you did,....Hazmat rules do say to drive by a fire only if you can safely do so with out stopping next to it,....GOOD JOB!

i know yer not placarded,.. but that still makes sense to me get as far away from the fire as possible with your diesel tank.

LOL....I was just thinking, it is one of the few times that trucks can ride against the left wall...I just like to check and see how smooth that lane is. Plus, it always moves faster......But, Yeah, I guess it is the safest lane to be in, too! I will have to use that excuse, next time someone yells at me for being over there,.....Thanks Eric!!

Most drivers dont know that you can use the third lane at several points on 285...I do, and I use it often.But yeah, without construction/accident, I dont dare risk another left lane violation..

Don't get caught on I-75 where it's four lanes wide. Of course my Dad likes to roll the dice and go straight through downtown. If he ever gets caught, I think that's a $400 fine.
