Just to give everyone a little more insight to this song and just why I chose it and why Sting wrote it-I recently attended one of Stings's concerts and before he sang this song he said that every single one of his father's relatives was a fisherman. His father was the only one to break tradition and be a milkman.He said his father always told him that you need to look no further than a fisherman to see what a real man is.This is why he wrote this.He wrote it for his Dad and for all fishermen

Like I have said, this song has been one of my all time favorite songs since it first came out in 1991, and when Phil passed away and I knew I wanted to make a tribute to him this was the first-and only really-song that came to mind. Still now, since I've used it every time I listen to it I find another reason why it really seems like Sting wrote it for Deadliest Catch. Truth be told Sting wrote for his own Dad's passing. Thanks again...everyone!

You know watching the Tribute show tonight I was so touched by the tributes of the other captains and crews when they learned of Phil's passing. You can truly tell a great man by how much he is missed. I keep thinking of the episode where we saw him in the hospital and he asked the doc if he would be able to return for next year's crab season. Now he will in spirit with his boys and friends.

When Captain Phil passed away I really wanted to make a video tribute to him, and this song came to mind right away. I do love the Theme Song the show has now-but I have always thought this would have been awesome too. But anyways-thank you for agreeing it's a good fit! Phil was one of the main reasons I watched Deadliest Catch. I loved the relationship he had with his boys. I think Phil really loved his sons even though he had that major blowup with Jake. You could see how much love Phil had for Jake, when Jake told Phil he was an addict, you see Phil's expression completely change. I'm really going to miss seeing Phil and my prayers are with his family.

What a rough life....its so sad.He said he used to drink a bottle of booze a day,smoke like a train ....thats why he was so pissed at Jake for stealing his drugs for the pain....and then fogave him....and told him to get help....dont know how that will play out....But the Corneilus Marie is Idol right now......the boys have to keep going....no matter what it takes,Fish on for dad.....they have help from everone....Sig,Keith,The guys on the Bandit....good luck Josh and Jake!

Captain Phil Harris was a one of a kind Man, so real and honest. I looked forward to watching him and his interactions with his sons and crew members. I will miss his wit, spirit and love for his family, crew and profession.
