Afghanistan was a prospering country before Reagan & Carter. The US created and trained jihadists to destroy their govt because it was "socialist" and an ally of Soviets. Their government is going after the taliban and al-qaeda if you forgot, and they will probably need our help at some point. There was never terrorism in the mid-east before? Are you serious?
