Now is this also include housing for the disabled, poor and elderly? Sorry but I not sure about policies in UK. I am just curious Here in the US as far as welfare housing o (section 8 )there are waiting lists that people get on and wait for several years before they can move to where they are on the list to move to.
We are a British family, two adults and two young children, my partner who works hard to support us, has now been made redundant, without hardly any notice, we are now in deep financial trouble, we also live in a 1 bed council flat, no hope of moving for ten years they tell us due to a social housing crisis, yet we see great numbers of migrants being housed by the council, into family sized homes. No one wants to listen to us.
@goddessofbalderdash they use people from other countries to come and work here, they give them less money to work, govenrment cuts more tex from them. council rent is going up by 80% in 2012...also H/A too.
Housing is often 'the elephant in the room' when it comes to policy. politicians all know how grave the problem has become but they all try to ignore it.
Absolutely. In the UK I feel it is indeed the most pressing issue that is, has & will continue to stagnate the economy for the greed of the few. We need a massive increase in the availability of affordable, RENT CONTROLLED housing NOW! Before we can even begin to think about affordable homes to buy.....Not that any of our useless politicians will even admit to the true scale of the problem...let alone do something about it.
I wonder how many of these people enjoy the benefits of taxing capitalisim?
