All Filipinos should celebrate PEOPLE POWER, the movement that led to victory over tyranny. It should be our Filipino battlecry, and NOT just a monopoly of the Aquino family.

I realized that we have to thank Tita Cory, the mother of our country's democracy! Without her, we would not be able to enjoy the freedom that we have now!

1 because she initially said she would share government power with the CPP-NPA "if they lay down their arms" (she later changed her mind, after strong objections from her advisers including Justic Munoz-Palma);
2 because she vacillated on practically every important domestic security and national defense issue--seen as impotent-thus-ineffective;
etc etc etc
Don't even mention what her husband did before going to exile--something which worshippers have no idea about.

I still remember watching the rebels on one local station and Marcos/Ramos on the other during the revolution. Ramos told the military to shoot the protestors, Marcos shut him down, on live TV, I will never forget it.

1 You have obviously never heard of Benazir Bhutto.
2 Housewife-turned-head-of-state is a credible source of pride only if something was actually achieved beyond "being a symbol/icon".
