  • The colour...

  • This was a good design it incorporates a little from a little from all the designs its also almost as a big as D

  • nice

  • It's so awful.

  • cool stands!

  • I LOVE this ship I think it's GORGEOUS the only difference is the parts of it are sleeker and more modern

  • Change is important, and I do think there are people that will agree with me and accept the new Enterprise

  • The new enterprise looks ok, I just feel it looks like a characature of the original, or rather a characature of the original movie version. It's not bad, but the first two versions, the one from TOS and the one from the first 6 films (ok, technically two different ships, but the same model) were both better.

  • I don't like the 2009 Enterprise. The Enterprise A and 1701 refit were much better.

  • There really is no comparing the STOS Enterprise with the Abrams one. Ofcourse the Abrams one is cooler looking. They had like 20 bucks, 3 rubber bands, 2 boogers, and some styrofoam to make the STOS Enterprise.

if given the choice, you seriously think Roddenberry would have chosen the old TV Enterprise, over the Abrams one, if given the chance?! Come on. In the mid-60s, Roddenberry took what he could get so that his show would get aired. Abrams Enterprise is way cooler looking.

  • @techraan Like you said, there's no comparison between the ships. It would be like trying to compare a medium T-bone steak dinner to beef jerky. Let's just say my opinion of Star Trek 2009 is, to outright STEAL and Slice & Dice a line from Hardware Wars, "You'll Laugh, You'll Cry, You'll Kiss Your Hard Earned Money in the [BLEEP] Good bye."

However, in all honesty, I must admit there was only one problem with Star Trek '09.

    The Script.

  • where did you get them where can i buy them

  • I thought the same about the mashing. So, I combined equal scale models of the Enterprise and Enterprise A with a little bit of modeling putty. I got this ship. - _-

  • All around a rather pathetic and ugly design!

  • @Mjollnir1970 You mean Vadar's ship? yes, i agree. But the enterprise in the new movie is rather awesome!

(kidding about Vadar's ship...but trying to make a point.)

  • Has anyone ever thought thst the 60's Enterprise was a refit of the 2009 movie? I mean it is possible.

  • snag that ship for 20 bucks

  • Something just occurred to me about the Star Trek and its design reboot occurring 40 something years later. I guess it would put it in the ball park range of the span of time from Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers to Star Wars, A remake was due.

  • Nice review but insulting anyone who might not share your opinion of the new design wasn't cool.

  • Thanks for showing off the model. I couldn't completely see the ship's design in the movie because they really didn't show the ship from that many angles. Just your rotating the ship 360 degrees was very informative.

  • Ncc-1701 and NCC-1701-A had a love child and that was the result. Scary =P i think they must have been related....inbreeding starships

  • Where did you get the Enterprise A ship from?

  • I love the JJ-Prise. I needed to get used to it, but after I did, I loved it. But for my money, the best Starfleet ships are the Galaxy and Defiant classes. Tough little ship.

  • In any incranation, before this one NCC-1701 is a nice-looking ship. That bastard JJ Abrams messed the old gal all up!

  • Damn ugly looking ship[. Looks like a freakin' TONKA toy

  • LOL!!!! love the Intro speech!

  • Enterprise A or the Constitution class refit version looks way better.

  • im thinking the same thing WITHOUT anyone saying it to me at ALL.. its the combination of the original and the refited as one. in the one in the new star trek movie.. i love a new look but cant wait for the next movie.. T.T taking forever... O i need the exciser and refited and the sovierign classes as well... trying to get the toys for them specially the enterprise -e with captains yatt..

  • my enterprise looks the same and is your warp nacelles bent and my one is the same and have u sold it

  • can u do a video with the sound aswell

  • meh. This is OK, but I think the designers got a little too "change crazy" The original Enterprise is, in my eyes, still the best out of all of them.

  • "Star Destroyer" -- very funny.

  • I got that for my son and he loved it

  • this looks too narrow and small yet big?

  • Looks better in the movie

  • Aren't the nacelles too bent upwards? I'm comparing with the profile of the Enterprise 2009 on Star Trek DAC and that's my impression. The lower line of the nacelles should be parallel with the saucer.

  • I read in either the Star Trek Magazine or online that the new enterprise if it actually existed is actually bigger than the Enterprise D, about 1/2 the times bigger.

  • Dude, is that a model kit, or is it a pre-made model that comes in a box?

  • Comes in a box, awesome model imo

  • I think I've stumbled onto one simple way of explaining why the new Star Trek and new ship "feels" different. The TOS and TNG eras both modeled their style of operations and style of ships in a pseudo-Navy mannerism. Military style order were main themes, and like Navy ships, they were intended to appear functional and high tech, but not purposefully showy. New Star Trek appears to lean somewhat away from that, and so you get more "space cowboy" moments and, on occasion, too much "bling."

  • I like this ship, not as much as the A refit model, but, still is a nice ship with dramatic features. I wasn't expecting a ship to look somewhat similar to the originals. I first thought they were going to do a totally different design like they did on ST Enterprise.

  • I hope Art Asylum make a more accurate model of this ship. I bought this one, but it looks too toy-ish compared to my D and E electronic ships made by AA.

  • it's a cool ship but they f*cked it up with the big engines. the movie was awesome :D

  • ncc1701A is the best design,and enetrpise E second

  • are going to do the art asylum enterprise-d toys

  • I'm loving the design. Everything about this ship just screams awesome.

  • Warp nacelles are too close together, but otherwise a good design.

  • I'm a hard-core Star Trek fan for 21 years and I was impressed with this new interpretation of the NCC-1701. How does one "hate" a Star Trek ship, anyway?

  • Only 2 things I did not like.

1: It's big as a star destroyer or something.

2: Engineering does not look like something from the future....looked like something you'd see today. Plus the brewery bits looked silly.

Other than that, I'm good with the design.

  • In response to your second comment. If this is a ship where people live on its logical that it will have its own sewege lines and water refinign plants. Also cooling units to keep the engines from over heating.

  • Make it look like something 300 years from now. Plus in the 40+ years of Star Trek, no one really cared about the bathrooms...we knew they were there, but we never cared to see them.

  • you know ( I think iI'm putting more thought in it then the crew did:P) the scene's in engineering, i think isn't really the warp core part etc. but the water refreshment system That would expain the water in the tubes and all the kida brewery tanks;)

  • I liked the original engineering set. Looked like something in a future time.

  • I agree, they should have made that they run past the warp core or something, instead of the water refreshing tanks

  • The engineering area of the Ent-A in TMP, Ent-D on TNG, or even TOS' engineering area LOOKED like something from a different time. It's like the used the whole budget on CGI, and had to make due with a brewery.

  • The main thing I didn't like about the model they came out with, is that the saucer looks as if it's angled to the point where it's no longer parallel to the engineering section. The only other thing was the lack of detailing for the ship/lack of effort to pain details.

  • i hate this ship!!!!!!!! fuck you JJ Abrams!

  • That's mature.

  • i got this ship and i love it

    its beautitiful

hey can u review the Enterprise E?

    and the NX-01?

  • Kamikazei Kitty Hawk? Sounds like a tattoo.

  • I love the new ship. All you haters can eat it.

  • jamin... doesn't it bother you that the engineering area looks like a standard current factory? Water pipes, catwalks, like they took the warp prototype and put it on a ship. The first enterprise at least had that 'future' feel to its engine room. In the Star Trek movie, the engine core alignment was changed for dramatic character and to be more accurate to current nuclear accelerator designs. But this one... felt primitive.

  • I do like it. As far as the internal of the warp core might be concenred, it might BE a prototype. At least, I've never seen a fed starship with 6 warp cores.

Technobable aside, it looks beautiful, makes more sense in the evolution of the Connie, and lets not forget the fact that it broke the odd number curse.

  • Dunno, I enjoyed TMP very much, it's my fav of the trek films.

  • The angle for the warp nacelle pylons does bother me a bit. The warp nacelles looked so much better when they were spread farther apart in the original designs.

  • In actuality, the nacelles themselves would need to be toric. Do you remember in the "Lost In Space" movie and also with the Voyager Active Armor how it would seem to grow? The Enterprise nacelles should need to grow into a huge cylindrical toroid... not just the field it creates. Remember the first Star Trek movie? The color rainbow burst warp, the misaligned worm hole and medical robogirl scanner... were mine. I made those three optical effect holograms. Big claim to fame huh? hehe

  • That is a pretty interesting claim to fame. But I was simply commenting on aesthetic designs, not on actual science. Interesting insights, though.

  • love the new enterprise

  • I agree with you, the new ship is awesome. I am a true Trek fan.

  • The original NCC1701 USS Enterprise from the original series is my favourite Starship

    in the star trek universe

  • The Enterprise is not a well designed ship, there are MANY MAJOR engineering issues.

  • DUDE SHAPE DON'T MATTER IN OUTER SPACE. THE SHIP DESTROYED A SHIP THAT IS LIKE 130 years more advanced they they were. OBVIOUSLY IT WAS DESIGNED DAMN WELL.

  • In reality, the Enterprise wouldn't have stood a chance in that instance.

Imagine the Wright "KITTY HAWK" with its canvas covered wooden wings, flexy steering, and tiny engine..vs., a BlackHawk with gattling guns and missiles.... at 100 yards. Wilber pulls out his 6 shot PeaceKeeper revolver from the Civil War, and tries to get a bead on the Blackhawk... the BlackHawk locks an infraRED missile on the Kitty Hawk's small hot engine profile... oh my, who will win?? hehe!!

  • The Enterprise didn't destroy Nero's ship. The red matter that young Spock slammed into it created a black hole and basically collapsed the ship.

  • i think this is the best enterprise

  • hell yea i think the size of the nacells has actualy been the main dominate issue with this version of the Enteprise ofc up untill the release of the new movie but meh hell when William Shattner saw this ship he thought it was ok lol but still more could have been done to improve the nacells without puffing up the size of both of them XD.

  • yes review all the star terk ships

  • In the beginning of the movie Kirk's dad becomes captain of ... i can't remember but i was wondering if that was also true for the original star trek series?

  • wait so ur saying they took the NCC-1701 A? and the TOS version and fused them? lol hell there is one MINOR letdown in that design and that being the layout of the engine room lol hell yea the NCC-1701A and the D are the true kings when it comes to design styles lol unless they either improve the engine room in this or use Gabe's version then so be it lol.

  • ...can you say Edsel???

  • I will say there is a noticeable difference between the original and this one but it had to be changed this is more futuristic look from todays standpoint while still resembleing the original. Its hard to make everything look like the original because it has to look futuristic to be star trek and lets face it the stuff on TOS doesnt look futuristic it looks like a 60's attempt to be futuristic. of course back in the day that was revolutionary but today not at all

  • I am a true star trek fan, I'm a childish 27 year old TOS fan...

I happen to love this design!

  • the sauser doesn't look right, and it looks as if it was bend back.

  • Actually the Necells are moved forward.

  • it looks like the enterprise C

  • to furryraskle: only difference the nacells are much bigger than the ones on the EntpC

  • do the NX-01

  • A great ship and fantastic movie - my favoutite still is the movie era refit Enterprise (I-VI).

  • This ship is alot like the movie itself. Close, but not really Trek. The scale of the components is awful. The nacells are too close together and WAY to big at the front. The "neck" is way to far back. Worst representation of the Enterprise I ever saw. But what do you expect from a steam powered spaceship? Ugly.

  • Excelente !!!!

  • I kno where u got the new enterprise

but dude, where'd u get all the other ones???

  • i see why they done that to make the enterprise e more bigger i hope in the next star trek movie they bring te enterprise e at the end of the film to save the enteprise aty the near end of the film

  • the new ship is actually twice as big as the other two. it is 725 meters long. the original is 289 meters and the enterprise-A is 305 meters long. but they couldnt do that for the toys because the new one would be too big.

  • Comment removed

  • The dimensions of the new Enterprise are still a point of contention. The figures given by the special effects team just don't make any logical sense. Look at the toys here for instance. The ship has the same features as the other two Constitution class Enterprises like windows and the bridge module. If you scaled it up to the 725 Monsterprise figure those features would be humongous and totally out of proportion. I believe the modeler always intended the ship to be near the original 300 meters.

  • I think J.J Abrams and his crew did an excellent job updating the Enterprise to todays level of both design and technology. Th necels and the pylons seem to be the biggest change noticeable, but the are very ascetically pleasing and all in all, gives the Enterprise E a run for its money.

  • nope the enterprise is big and more powerful and it looks 1000 time better than this movies enterpise

  • im still getting used to the new design, the only thing that bothers me is that the neck looks like it should be a little further forward on the engineering hull, but i still like the new ship, and hope they put out a model kit soon.great review

  • original and A look a lot better. 09 looks to much like a toy to me, a off scale one.

  • This one is my second favorite, after the ncc 1701 A

  • All in the necels were changed.

  • damn good review and that part about the enterprise original and the enterprise-A combination to create that ship was a bang on the dot right anser they took the 1701/-A and combined them to create a great looking peace of tech oh and once more great review.

  • Well-played, sir! I didn't think I was one of THOSE guys, but I did actually start to get a little perturbed at the start there. Turns out I care after all, which is more than a little depressing!

  • You do some witty, fun reviews... good stuff. I loved your comments on childish fan boys... LOL

  • Im getting one on my next payday next Friday. I love the new USS Enterprise and the toys. I just got the Burger King Promotion and got the small new USS Enterprise from Burger King Big Kids Meal.

  • I love the new USS Enterprise. its my #1 favorite ship now, #2 USS Voyager #3 USS Enterprise E.

  • i hate this ship it's the phat version

  • i realy want this ship its amazing

  • I think most people's issue with the new ship is the nacelles being freakin' HUGE. Or maybe it's just me. I definitely agree that 1701-A is king when it comes to Enterprise designs.

  • Eh. I will agree that the A is great (and definitely had one of, if not the best, studio models ever made for its scale), but the design is really dated. It just screams 70's. Don't get me wrong, I could stare at it for hours, and I would kill to get 10 minutes with the model in person, but I think it all just comes down to opinion.

That said, I didn't like the new design at first, but after seeing the movie and looking at a lot of pictures, it has really grown on me a lot.

  • @ ControlDenied307: lol i couldent agree more lol the size of those nacells has actualy had me thinkin of what sorta improvement that could have been done to make the new Enteprise as much atrractive as the TOS and TMP versions lol but yea its common that there is always room for improvement lol.

  • it's cool. i like it.

  • The movie was FANFRAKKINGTASTIC.

Is Art Asylum gonna make Abrams Enterprise?

I don't really like Playmates sculpt on this one.

  • Do a review on all of em, u make good reviews.

  • Do the original, the a,b ,c,d,and e!!!!

  • The movie was fantastic. Is the Big E design a mash-up? I agree with you... it is. I don't LOVE it, but I could in time. It looks pretty cool in it's action scenes, so I may be on my way to loving it. The toy, however, is a bit choppy and sloppy. Got to wait for a top-notch accurate model kit. Good review though.

  • NO LIKE. it looks sexed up, but not functional. The warp stream would have to go through the foward part of the disk. To keep with the story line, this ship should have been a believible variant of the TOS ship. From my 53 years of geek wisdom.

  • I'm pushing 50 and I remember the original series. I also had a couple of the original models. They ALL broke where the engine pylon's attached to the lower section. That's why I thought the movie version (and A) corrected a deficiency.

I suppose I'll get used to this one, but I wonder why they made the back of the lower section so skinny. Looks like the ship needs to eat or something.

  • eh, still like the refit better. This new version just has hideous curves in all the wrong places.

  • Enterprise Refit from the motion picture was the best ship. As for Playmates offering here -- i'll pass. It looks too much like a little kid's toy. It lacks detail, paint and comes off too plasticly. Hopefully Art Asylum/Diamond Select will do a first rate job of this version of the E that would be worthy of display. I thought it was interesting how you berated Star Trek fans over the age of 30. Every Star Trek fan is entitled to an opinion, don't you think? Peace.

  • i assume you didn't bother to look at the annotation of me saying my apologies to anyone i offended. well since you didn't, i apologize.

  • Np, Night, you're a good man. I just saw the new Star Trek movie last night and I liked it. It was well made and fun all the way through 126 minutes. It was cool to see Spock have an intimate relationship with Uhura. Who would have guessed that?! I ran to burger king and bought my star trek glasses.

  • You really pointed something out that I didn't get until now, that the new ship is a combo of the refit and original. Perfect way of doing it. I totally agree and I have the Enterprise B!

  • do IT, wanna hear the reviews of ships, total 35 year old geek w/out the drama lol

  • I really wanted to like the new ship but.....I hate it, I hate it. I HATE IT. sorry but it's garbage, the 'A' is my FAV

  • And the worst part of it is. As time goes by, I'll get used to it eventhough I'm a pretty hardcore fan.

  • You ought to do a comparision Vid of ALL the Enterprises together, That would be really cool!

  • Great review! I love the fact that even though you favored the movie version refit 1701 and 1701-A (I loved the refit 1701 and the 1701-A as well) - it did not stop you from appreciating the new "look" of the 2009 1701. The ship does indeed look like both original 1701 and the refit version blended together. It gives a nod to the original and also hints at what it would look like in a "future" refit (1701-A/STTMP, mind you). Good job on the review!

  • I'm just buzzed that they at least kept the basic classic silhouette of the 1701.....it could have been a lot worse. Also, let us not forget that people and what they do IN the ships are what are at the heart of Trek.

Let us also give praise that when the credits rolled at the premier, there was a standing ovation. It has also picked up 5 star reviews across the board...and for all the right reasons, i.e its intelligence and character driven story as opposed to its action and pace. Give thanks!

  • loved the vid. 5 stars.... but the ship looks like the offspring of a paper plate & a vibrator. A & E are the best.....

  • hey homie where did u get the old enterprise from, it looks real as hell plz tell me

  • You mean Art Asylum's model of the original Enterprise?

I think it should be available in stores or Ebay.

  • hey uh, what kind of screwdriver did you use for the main battery compartment?

  • Would someone be so kind as to please inform me as to what sequence of lights occurs with each of the four sounds? I only ask because I can't see them, though I own the model and love it to death! I hear the lights are fantastic, just as the sounds are.

  • I agree with you, thats my fav ship too.

  • That's also my favorite ship. Pretty much what I grew up on. I love Trek but I'm not sure what to think of the new ship.

  • your reviews rock! i just put up a review of this and the original, go check it out

  • yes review them please

  • ah! ur less hyper in this review

  • AWESOME ships!.. beam me up slashy! ; )

  • Do a review on the others in one large review.

  • awesome

  • which one of the ships did u use for tf 3 ep 3???? review it

  • mwahahaha the beginning xD

  • Being up to date always makes an appropriate nod to previous models but movie bases mostly on what is the appealing aspects of what truly makes it interesting- here, the sleeker engine, the rounder body and main deck and the warp drive thrusters have even been sculpted to look muscular... (ship talk mind you). Great review! opinions rise knowing well who you're talking to.

  • jajaja... star wars....

  • Comment removed

  • i like the new look

  • hhahahahahhahha!!!

    star destroyer!

  • hey man can you subscribe to me i want to get my dad 2009 star trek toys and i need the money i have vids to be a partner but i need the subscribers plz subscribe

  • Nice ship. My personal favorite was the enterprise E. I would definately be interested in your thoughts on any or all of the starfleet vessels that you have. Each one is a fascinating piece of rather idealistic engineering. I look forward to future reviews!

  • Completely agree with you, Ent - E is my favorite as well followed by the original Enterprise (no freakin' A, B, C, D or NX).

  • i wonder if the movie is going to suck

  • ship=sucks video=AWESOME

  • cute.

  • I heartily concur, more ship vids PLEASE! Especially D and E, Diamond Select D if you have it. I've been trying to get a Diamond select D, but don't think they came out yet.

  • Yeah i'd like to see some more ship reviews.

  • This one is made by Playmates, of the other ships YOU have, who made those? And yes, please review the A, D, and E. :)

  • yes, i forgot to mention who made it, thanks for commenting on that. art asylum made the other two.

  • Fantastic! Yes, please show them! How much are they and do they have light and sounds? Also, check out my Getting to Know a TF fan. You're mentioned it, your dudeness. :)

  • i got them off ebay for around 40-50, some are a little more, especially the Enterprise A, and they all do have lights and sounds. i shall check out your vid for sure.

  • whoa, they redesigned the constitution class. I gotta admit that bothers me a tad, but I won't judge before I get to see the movie

  • Nice review Mike. I'd definitely like to see more ship reviews from you!

  • Thes locks Sweet! Keep Up The Reviews! The Movie Is Going To Be Awesome! You Rock Bro! Ok Now i Sound like Sean! No No Just joking!

  • Gooooo Nightslash!

  • I will get this.

  • Great Review! I would defiantly like to see more star trek reviews!

  • Dude, are you seriously a star trek fan? Im soo happy to see that there are so many fellow trek fans among the tf community!

    Live long, and prosper!!

  • i'm childish, does that mean i can comment your video 1 star?

  • you star trek nerd! having all those different ships AND remembering all their code names

  • Thanks for the Shoutout Mike! I like to see more reviews of the ships from you! I totally now see the Ship is a combination of both those Enterprises! YOU ROCK MIKE!
