  • I can't believe they put a RS3L on there.... ridiculous

  • @AMTK510 Right? It's ridiculous! :/ and #510 has a beautiful K5LA in real life! at least they got the bell right :)

  • what radius track are u using?

  • @solidshots23 Inner track: is 18 radius, and the outer track on one side of the layout is 18 radius, the other side is 22 radius. The walthers passenger cars & superliners have gone through these curves at speeds of 125 scale mph no problem. It just looks highly unrealistic, yet they run fine. Ten track used is Bachmann E-Z track, with 2 segments of atlas track in an interlocking with #5 turnouts. I hope to get a #8 or #10 turnout someday.

  • Nice Loco

  • @Rdrake1413 Thanks! :)

  • sorry. didnt mean to put the same message a few times...

  • @welovetacos4 Haha It's fine. That happened to me just yesterday! :)

  • do you know what store it was?

  • do you know what store it was?

  • where did you get the loco?

  • @welovetacos4 I got it from an online model train store.

  • @welovetacos4 I don't remember, but Nicholas Smith trains has a California Dash 8 left. Don't know of that's what you're looking for though. Hold on, I'm still looking I'll reply back to you as fast as I can. Ebay always has the Phase 5 Dash-8s there and occasionally a phase 4 will turn up. Be right back I'm still checking.

  • @welovetacos4 On ebay, if you search "atlas amtrak" you will find An ho scale Amtrak Dash-8 for sale on buy it now. There are 2 in stock. The price is $196. The engine is #503 with DCC and sound.

  • would u recomend puttig dcc in a walthers?

  • @flashperson If you want sound with DCC, then I'd recommend either a tsunami decoder or a digitrax decoder. Both have excellent amtrak horns you can program into these decoders. The one in my -8 is okay, but the horn is crummy. The bell, however, is accurate. :) Check out BoeingNerd's videos. that guy has a walthers -8 which has a tsunami decoder in it. The K5LA on it sounds nice!! :)

  • is that a walthers trainline or is it atlas?

  • @flashperson This Atlas. Walthers isn't as well detailed, but is still a smooth, strong runner, and cost less too. But in the long run, atlas is better.

  • Got the older version in the Pepsi can paint job.

  • @UnionPacificBNSF Nice! Atlas is making a re-run of those pepsi cans. With sound!!

  • The Nathan Air Horn was a great effect. Nice engine.

  • @Flowmaster40Series Thanks I got it from america by rail.

  • looks GREAT! what scale?

  • @StephenHP44 Ho scale.

  • i love that loco

  • @wasteom 510 is my fav, and the real sound at the end is really 510 pulling the coast starlight!

  • I have this engine only its number is 507 and they are AMAZING

  • Thanks!

  • Great looking Loco

  • Spectrum/Bachmann makes very good models of dash 8's.

  • The Dash 8 (DC) can cost up to $134, but the DCC version with sound ca cost up to $210. The superliners

are the plastic version and are made by walthers. The plastic superliners cost up to $30. The new metal-plated superliners cost $60. The Dash 8 you can find on ebay.

  • Hey were can i buy the plastic walther Superliners? i had a set but my sister broke them... i want to get back into trains so can u refresh my memory? whats cheaper n scale or HO scale? where can i get the trains from? im really into amtrak

  • @jakewars Depends on the manufacturer of ho scale or n scale. Walthers does almost ALL the amtrak equipment ever run,(superliners, viewliners, amfleets type1&2, heritage cars and F40s. Bachmann makes amfleets ,but they are expensive.(good quality though) They make the Acela and HHP-8s Atlas makes Dash8s and AEM-7s, This is all in Ho Scale. Little more $ needed, for Atlas and Bachmann but Is SO worth it.

  • how much does two trains and five or six of those amtrak cars cost cause im thinking of starting a layout and i want to get a passenger train and i liked the train you used in that video.

  • I know. But the technical term for a Dash 8 is known as

a Dash 8-32 BWH, but because it's so long, most railfans call it a P32 for short, and like you said, the real technical term for a P32 is actually a genesis engine.

    I apologize for confusing anyone.

  • ppl who call these P32's r iditos, your refering to a genesis then not a dash 8, metro north has em there P32-DMAC's

  • Thanks! I don't like the horn though. Amtrak dash 8's

don't have a leslie horn, they have awesome K5LA's!

Either way, these are very good engines. I got my dash 8 off of an internet hobby shop. There sold out now, but you can find plenty of amtrak dash 's for sale on ebay.

  • Cool

  • Nice locomotive I actualy have An Atlas Gold Series CSX Dash-8-44

    Roadnumber: 7741

  • I have 503, i really love atlas engines

  • butiful, this is a good ditch light equpied loco, the 8-40cw's have dim head lights and same for the 8-40bw's but this one seams fine lol

  • I have a spectrum DCC Equipped undecorated (cant find the address for the engine for DCC) Dash-8-40CW and it has very bright headlights (LEDS)

  • where did you get this engine?

  • Thanks! I have more videos of the engine that I'm planning on uploading soon. One video has my

engine doing the doppler effect on the horn! :)

I have a Bachmann DCC system on my layout.

  • very nice loco by the way!

  • what dcc system do u use?
