  • speak with indian accent. Please dont be stylish

  • wat is kokum??

  • @saurabhgrover2715

It is used to give color and tartness to food. It is available in Indian grocery stores.

  • Good, you should have kept the soaked kokum liquid seperate, and add it before serving to get the appealing colour. Sol Kadi is a primary item in every Konkan Thali item. To get the pink colour you should add soaked kokum pieces in the dish to maintain the colour, that way it looks appetizing...

  • @pulamasu

Thank you for the suggestion. We will try it next time.

  • what was that black ingredient that u mentioned first? kokum?

  • @Calpico852

    Yes...the moist type.

  • Last week I had trip to Goa and Konkan with my friends and I drank Solkadhi with every dish. Its healthy and It helps to digest food. In fact its an auyurvedic medicine itself and should be serve while having any non-veg dish. In a nutshell, I would say its a Heaven Drink. Try yourself and you will come to know what I am saying about.

NOTE: Presentation isn't good and they ain't look confident of what are they doing. Both chefs really need some presentation skills.

  • Work on your presentation skills a bit and you two can rock big time. By the way, you can also do the Kadhi the tadka (no onion)way too.

  • who is the camera man??

  • what can you use to substitute cocnut milk?

  • I have had it with garlic instead of asafoteda in "mahesh lunch home" resturant at pune and it tasted yummy....

  • yes ,sol kadhi is nt complete without garlic. traditionally, garlic and coconut are grated in mixie couple of times and the coconut milk thus extracted has a great flavour of garlic which is later garnished with green chillies and coriander. and of course, star ingredient is kokum that adds colour n great taste.surprising, these ladies miss garlic!

    mruds

  • We'll definitely try it with garlic...sounds delicious!

  • could u descibe the flavor of the drink?

  • Sol kadi has a very light flavor. Even though coconut milk is used, it does not taste very creamy. If you didn't know better, it almost tastes like buttermilk.
