I've been a BJH fan for more than 30 years...there is no equal, and now we have Michael Byron-Hehir playing...a guitarist extraordinaire, fabulous playing...
@ruixalves Thankyou for pointing that out to me : ) Upon hearing that I now understand what Bobsytube meant. Completely unaware that they ever did anything without the orchestra . Is this a common thing with BJH now ? I hope not . While that version was good , A version backed up by the orchestra is in my humble opinion much better . Something about it . I guess for me, the Orchestra is expected . But it also brings about the ambiance that breathes soul into the music ...
@kbdevo1962 at their early days they played with orchestra but that nearly ruin them.So they played a lot without it.At the live concerts recorded are without orchestra. drury lane 1974,Live Tapes,Berlin, Glasnost,25th anniversary...From a couple of years ago they split in two BJH line-up -one with Lees and Wooly and the other with Holroyd and Mel.Since Mel and Wooly passed away...there's only two remaining each in their own BJH project. With Les making new music and John playing the classics.
For me this is by far the best live version of this song. Much better than the town and country club (1992) version with the dodgy un-rehearsed sax solo. Great lead guitar by Mike Byron-Hehir here and Les' voice was good as well which, sadly, it hasn't often been in recent years. Great stuff.
AWESOME!! this has always been one of my favourite BJH song... so good to hear it now in 2009 with an orchestral touch.
man, this song brings back memories from the Lebanese civil war where we used to switch out the lights and turn up the volume and just drift away to forget the war raging outside.... Les Holroyd man you rock!!
I ever have found this the best song Les has made in 1979! Thank you very much for sharing! Very good version with the orchestra....in fact, it is a classical song.
all my dreams are in this music....
