@TheSilentOne50 Definitely This. I've heard alot of complaints about SCARs and very few about ACRs. I've spoken to quite a few civilian owners and quite a few SF guys many people dislike the SCAR systems for various reasons.
Dear US Army I know you've had a rough time trying to replace all of your aging AR-15 based weaponry - you know all of your M16A4s and your M4A1s and whatnot. You turned down the OIWC, The XM8, and oh so many more. You refused to adopt any foreign countries' weapons as your own. But here, what is this? The ACR being made by Remington? A superior and reliable weapon system? A weapon that feels like an AR-15 and requires little training? I think this is one you should think about. - One ROTC CDT
@thenetnewb I'm also an ROTC cadet, but I severely doubt that the military is patrolling this page. I think the military would prefer the LWRC M6A2 a bit more. It feels a bit more like an AR-15 than this.
@eric24567 it wasn't a story, it was a question smartass. how about i not do that because i honestly don't give two shits about who made the video? besides, you're the one who desperately needs to prove a point, maybe it would be a good idea if you were the one providing evidence from this so called "research" that you want me to do.
@flyingrustler2 no, that's not true. according to another view who commented on this video, the civilian version (semi-auto only) is made by bushmaster, while its military counterpart (selective fire) is made by remington.
@legendarywar1 For now anyways if Remington starts selling civi versions which a rep said they might due to the number of questions / comments at Shotshow about their slightly different ACR with an improved metal selector as opposed to the bushmaster one which many people say feels toy like and unsafe lol
Generally no positive retention or click when switching.
@flyingrustler2 Well actually it started with magpul, then was bought by bushmaster, now it would seem to be in the clutches of Remington Personally l'm quite confused whose gun it is anyway.
@flyingrustler2 ur wrong...Bushmaster, Magpull and Remington took apart in making this fine rifle...so u could say its a Bushmaster ACR, a Magpull ACR, or a Remington ACR.
@legendarywar1, I don't know what kinda bubble your in but try to fire a gun underwater and see what happens. A Direct impingement AR will blow the gas tube. You can fire a piston AR such as this soon after emerging from water but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are 100% sure your weapon is capable of that. I've seen the test where a LWRCI rifle was fired as soon as he cleared the surface semi and bursting. Even reloaded under water but I don't think you would want to fire the weapon underwa
@TacticalPelican what i meant was that if you already have a round chambered and then you submerge the gun, it should be able to fire while submerged without much of a problem.
@legendarywar1 Remington and Bushmaster are part of the same group. Remington generally makes stuff for the US Army while Bushmaster makes stuff for the civilian and law enforcement market. The Remington ACR has the full auto option, while the Bushmaster ACR only has semi auto.
@Lukos0036 Remington owns Bushmaster....that answer your question !!, they also now own Advanced Armament Corp.., hence the AAC suppressor on all the new Remingtons
@Lukos0036 and sorry , but nobody bought Magpul., theyre still independent of any huge multinationals, all Remington bought was the license/patents/rights to this one rifle design/ weapons platform.,, not a bad buy really, the remington version is a great rifle., 1/7 barrels., better lower reciever design.., but bushmaster really let all of us down, including magpul, on what theyve done to the ACR..
@MultiSr16 From what I have heard Bushmaster doesn't have a very good reputation with small arms. Glad Magpul is still indi though. I don't think a multi national could have created this weapon on their timeline or budget. I really hope the government considers it for a M-4/16 replacement.
@Lukos0036 bushy aint to bad when it comes to ar's., but yea, 1/9 non chrome lined barrel on the acr is a fuckin pathetic joke., ill not be buyin one ever., ill get a scar instead for sure., but if it had been made by magpul, and was still the masada, id def already haveone., just really unfortunate, the wholething., it really was a great rifle that magpul built., id love to get my hands on that remington select fire one though,or an original masada...,,,ttyl.,
@Lukos0036 as far as a replacement goes, i think the government is seriously considering making the ACR the new work horse weapon of the US armed forces. but i don't really know much about this stuff, so don't take my word for it.
@Lukos0036 as I understand, magpul is still an independent company, Bushmaster bought the rights to the ACR, and then recently, remington bought bushmaster
ok, Ive seen a vid somewhere where they did water test with the acr by putting it underwater and firing multiple times on single semi and auto settings. just didnt know if this was the one or not
@legendarywar1 will that and any super sonic round with tare apart in mere feet fired in water. the bigger and the faster the round the faster it is destroy by the water.
are they using a halo soundtrack or something ?!!!!!

@lcpl1981 they're two different branches owned by the same company.

@flyingrustler2 Umm no Remington also produces the ACR
For now Bushmaster is selling the civilian semi version and Remington is selling the Full Auto Mil/Leo Version.
However many are hoping that Remington will sell a Civi version as well as bushmaster overcharges and people like Remington metal lowers.
