On October 14, 1997, after the Rolling Stones made a last minute cancellation, David Bowie stepped up and performed an excellent concert on the premiere of MTV's 10 Spot. The only source for this video that I have is from a mono video source that a friend (with very good taste in music) lent to me. I am thankful that I have been able to see this show. The link I put in my previous post will not take you to my upload. But it is still there if you search Google video for David Bowie MTV 10 Spot.
This is a fantastic video of this great performance! Thank you for uploading such a clean copy! This is much better than the copy I uploaded in 2006 from an old VHS I had of the show. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1742609215780717092# Indeed, this entire concert was a magnificent performance by David Bowie, Reeves Gabrel (guitar), Gail Ann Darcy (bass), Zachary Alford (drums), and Mike Garson (keyboard)!! Definitely one of the best performances of Quicksand that I have seen!!
I went to see by the link that you have mentioned: I apologize, I'd not seen before. I believe that divulgation be very important in order to give people the opportunity to recognize and appreciate (especially for youth) the value of good music, selected in the ocean of an offer currently rather poor of ideas and musically mediocre : I think it's the main aim of those who share loading. For that I thank you so much for your work (even for the 2 comments/testimony). Very kind...
WOW! Fantastic vid! Love it! So crisp and clear. And David is fantastic as always! This arena reminds me of the Michigan Palace where I saw him! Wonderful memories. Beautiful!
Thank you so much Fiorella, my dear friend, another beautiful video full of life and energy, invigorates the soul and washes away the harshness of life for a time, a much needed respite for a weary traveler. Again you have brightened my day, ☼♥♫♥☼♥♫♥☼ : )
David has not been only a source of inspiration for numerous artists of all Planet (although others have rarely been able to achieve its strokes of genius), but mostly he was and is a conscious greatness, surprising music, cultivated, with such a range of forces that gives rise to other forces of vitality into his beloved audience, immediately. This energy is so vivid and crystalline, as you say, that invigorates and softens our moments.
One of the most versatile "actors" of the Rock, able to fill with depth of his voice also songs (apparently) light. One who was able to manipulate, merge different musical structures, personalizing them, without lapsing into discounted copyings from the past. One that has always risked get rid of any classification, restarting from scratch. One who has a voice among the most unsurpassed in music scene, thick of charm and mystery. HOW to escape this magnetism? LOL
A compliment coming from who owns one of the historic channels and among the most earnest of Bowie, is flattering, but I know by intuition the elegant temper of this great man who so kindly wrote here.
Thanks so much, I accept with joy and as a great encouragement.
What can we say more than has already been said about this phenomenal voice, capable of an extension that goes from the strangled cry to the caressing, from the suave and bewitching to the intriguing gloomy, from the sumptuous and portentous to the bass with hoarse streaks, from the thin and trembling to the higher vibrant notes ... thousand tonalities that transmit images, feelings, concepts, scenes ... worlds of sounds and of visions.

Vero.
