There is no place in the whole world I would rather be than at that show to hear Comfortably Numb. I LOVE Floyd and this is my favorite Floyd song. The 2nd solo is UNBELIEVABLE
i got no hate for david gilmour hees as much responsible for pink floyd and their sucess as anyone. but this track proves to me how much of another level roger waters vocals are on, compared to him. pink floyd forever
Guitar solo is jaw dropping end of conversation, no if and or butts about it for real. If you dont David gilmour and pink floyd to, Then you were meant to have no intelligence at all and be stuck with hannah montannas simple mind
EPIC solo, man, he kills it! A great version of the song and solo at the end. I am so glad that Richard Wright got to do this tour and play this last huge gig before he passed on. He seemed so happy with David, playing great music.
Simplesmente fantástico, David Gilmour pra mim é o melhor música e lenda viva que temos, e vá com Deus Rick.. Dá até arrepios quando ouço essa música!
awesome... no words to describe the CNumb solo, and this one here is nearly as good (or better?!) than his perfect rendition at Live 8.. Gilmour is God
I think this was the last time that David and Richard played on stage together. We are literally seeing the end, the final bow of these two. It just depresses me to type that but holy god, they went out on a bang.
This is not the place where people should argue about which guitarists are the best. I'm just in awe of the way Gilmour did the solo in this song as I have always been for the last 30 years.
@paddy9i99 Most amazing guitar players started off thinking "Man, I wish I could be as good as (insert guitarist)" Or "I hope my music will be up there with the greats" Not many become famous, and there are many musicians who are simply incredible but never get the recognition they deserve. Every guitar great started somewhere right? There's always a chance.
For me, this is the most emotional version of this amazing song. A last glimpse of Richard Wright's genius ( R.I.P ) plus the genuine emotion you can feel DG puts into the solo. It doesn't get any better than this.
@AkisColdplay well, i think he's always gonna have it.. after David will be long gone, that black Strat is gonna play itself this way... it's simply brilliant
Gilmour is the man who made the most of the Strat sound. No one else, not even Clapton or Knopfler had such a suitable style for a Stratocaster; this is the perfect harmony between man and instrument
@Jeeforceful Gilmour has a lot of technique and he knows a lot, but he is not a "sound maker". Jimi Hendrix was the one who made the most of the Strat sound.
@3Brian3 Haha...'a sound maker'! What a load of old tripe! Considering the fact that Gilmour is most known for his tuneful compositions and melodic solos, I think you could well call him a ''sound maker''. What the fuck that means, God only knows! I take it you're another so called expert who knows fuck all and is playing the Hendrix safety card. Guitarists like Gilmour and SRV make Hendrix look amateur.
@irena7777777 I don't want to know if u think i'm an expert or not. I just gave my opinion as a normal person who likes to discuss something about music. u are that kind of idiots that don't have life and that listen always the same thing, over and over again. Hendrix card? lol u probably don't even know who the hell is Zappa, Pat Metheny or Tony Iommi. I just talked about Hendrix because u can't separate him from strats. (u probably don't know that, i know...) oh, and "respect", google it.
@3Brian3 No, you said 'he is not a ''sound maker''', which is a statement, not an opinion. Yeah, I do know Pat Methany, both Zappa's - father and son - and Iommi of sabbath fame. Are you one of those rectums who think that you're the only person who has musical knowledge and taste? You sound like a moron. As for listening to the ''same shit'', I probably have a more varied and expansive taste in music than your glum self. Pink Floyd is one of the many bands I listen to...and u are a prick!
@irena7777777 Impressive. You really can't have a normal conversation... and u are just a normal person that is trying to be an idiot. Why? Don't answer. I wish you the best. cheers
@3Brian3 I've had many normal conversations...I just can't accept someone stating an opinion as if it is a fact, and the opinion decrying someone who is a fucking legend and is an absolute and unequivocal musical genius. Gilmour is in complete control of the sound his guitar emits and to say otherwise is erroneous. That much IS a fact. Thanks for the best wishes. Ditto
Sorry man, but Hendrix made the guitar alive! Gilmore, Beck and others quote him as the inspiration. Now where Mr. G has taken it and developed the most amazing sound of all time is another thing. But you cannot not Hendrix ESPECIALLY against SRV. What would Stevie have been were it not for Hendrix. BTW listen at 6:50! There is Hendrix's original cliche of rock guitar!
@fendertwin777 Hendrix is the pioneer for that style but he isn't the best. The first person to drive a car is not a better driver than Michael Schumacher!
@aweisti : a trite phrase or expression; also : the idea expressed by it

@andrewpogor everyone knows what rolling stone magazine publish shit , they ask a bunch of old musicians for their lists .. david g is one of the most Influential guitarist in the 20th century .
@andrewpogor its the same crappy magazine that stated that Like a Rolling Stone is the most influent rock song ever on History.. and that the most influent artist is Bruce Springsteen. I mean .. I respect Dylan and Bruce.. they are really good musicians.. but seriously ? Best ever song ,and most influent musician ?! WTF next thing im gonna hear on RS is that Justin Bieber is the best artist of the last decade. WHO THE FUCK IS JUSTIN BIEBER!? Ozzy.. you re man ! thanks for that awesome quote.
