WCW lying about why the World's Heavyweight Championship was vacant, well here's the truth. Chris Benoit got tired of the backstage politics and he felt like he was being held down ( which he was ), WCW trying to make him happy by putting the World's title on him but it was a little to late. Benoit gave the title back to WCW after he won it at WCW Souled Out and walked out on the company after that
Lol at nash when kimberly walks out of the nwo locker room after gettin that referee shirt.she walked out and nash said"you forgot to bow,you forgot to bow".lol say what u will about nash.he is one funny motherfucker.best shoot interviews in the workd too
just curious was this Kevin Nash's pop shot at Arn Anderson's comment on respecting the referee's by having Kimberly Page (an unliscenced offical) referee a match - i think so
Kevin Nash as commissioner, Ed Ferrara (Oklahoma) as a wrestler, the number of stars who asked for releases (Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn & Chris Benoit, Shane Douglas, etc), top tear names like Nash, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett getting paid ungodly salaries, bringing back people/groups that once was good but had their hey day (The n.W.o., The Varsity Club, Jim Duggan, etc.) is what destroyed W.C.W.
Watching Nash's State of WCW speech when it came to the new rules lol inside some of those jokes which were funny were actually some things that should have been rules in Pro wrestling locker rooms like NO Illegal substances and mandatory Medical Exams and Everyone in One Lockeroom no special treatment
I've seen some comments about Kevin Nash marking out for himself for his "Oz" gimmick in 1991. And yeah.. he probably did mark out for himself a little bit but not because he thought that gimmick was good. In fact, he's gone on record to say it was terrible. So I'm sure that despite what it may have looked like Kevin was poking fun at himself ... hell the guy was one of the highest paid wrestlers in the business at that point what did he have to lose?
nash mark for himself..."i sound like oz up here"...guess what moron, that gimmick was so fuckin bad, nobody in the crowd realized the connection, so stop laughing.
Hogan came back on a Thunder a couple of weeks later, and went on to squash Lex Luger at Superbrawl. This whole era in WCW was the epitome of suck: Booker (T) booted out of Harlem Heat, and the return of Ahmed Johnson (who was badly out of shape). There was 3 Count, The Dog, Tank Abbott as World Title contender etc etc
@crabman66606 WCW in early 2000 was indeed awful. Especially when they got into that 2 month period between Russo's first and second stints as booker. They were in a real holding pattern and trotted out yet another Hogan/Flair/Luger feud.
Good part of this video is around 42 minutes to see the main roster coming out, so you can see who was around then. Looks like everyone had a gimmick (Duggan the Janitor, Varsity Club, West Texas Redneck, etc.) left over from the Russo era. When did Hogan come back, very shortly after this right?
Jeebuz Cripes, how long was Arn gonna drone on for. But I guess that's "intense" and "awesome" according to the smarks, par for the course for balding beerbelly Arn.
Ol' Kev Sullivan the Taskmaster was in charge during this period, and he was the sole reason why Benoit left WCW for the WWF. Then again, I'd probably leave too if the head booker was my mortal enemy.
@crabman66606 And Benoit would have had it coming. All the marks were OK with him stealing Sullivan's wife but at least the murder has made the Benoit slobberers rethink that.
@peterp21 No it hasn't. Despite the fact that Benoit murdered his wife and son they still LOVE him. I can't figure it out, but they do. They love him enough to concoct the whole "Kevin Sullivan really murdered them all as part of a Satanic Cult Ritual" nonsense. He's the Biggie and Tupac and Kurt Cobain of wrestling. They're just never going to let him go...
@RevJoshsFunhouse Yeah, doesn't suprirse me if the Benoit marks are still deifying him. Thank God promoters don't listen to the workrate snobs and instead pushes guys that actually have charisma and can sell tickets. Personally, I always found Benoit boring, even back in 1996. Malenko was twice as boring, just devoid of any charisma or any reason to want to watch him.
Nash in charge, a fat Ahmed Johnson, fans boo the only real wrestling match, and your main event features Buff Bagwell. Meh, still better than Impact this week
@Rollermacka Wow, uh....2000-2001 WCW actually is looking pretty good right about now. It's uh...still better than Impact Wrestling, or a lot of stuff they do on RAW...or frankly, that whole late 2002-early 2005 RAW period, anyway, lol.
@Rollermacka lol just seeing that the show didn't start with a 30 minute promo and that there were 8 matches in the description makes the show sound better than Impact and PG era RAW.
can anybody tell me thename of the theme song that starts at 0:55:21 that super j and masa hiro chono enter to ?

Most of the roster was in the WCW & WWF attitude era.
TNA is pretty much the style of what WCW was
Impact is still better than this PG WWE on TV
